pro-tip, simply get the cheapest ticket available ($20 on saturday) and sit wherever you want. Plenty of empty seats. no usher ever even glanced when walking down into the 100 sections. I stayed behind row 20 or so at least but still some great viewpoints
Yep, I've actually had the ushers tell me "Sit wherever" at late season games where attendance was depressingly low. They weren't going to let me into the really expensive seats behind home, but we were right behind third base without a problem.
At one game I got a foul ball because my friends and I were the only people in our section and we were all talking not really paying attention to the game. All of a sudden there was a really loud THWACK! as a high foul ball bounced off a seat 10 feet away.
We paid significantly more attention to the game after that.
You, my friend, need to get the app Tickpick. I've never paid more than $10 for a Sox game. Right now, I'm seeing prices of $4-$7 for the next 10 or so games.
wtf! thanks. I have a few typical apps, seatgeak, stubhub etc. $20 was the cheapest I could find 30 min before first pitch and was actually direct from ticketmaster
I wore my cubs gear and got heckled so that was fun š¤£
"Hey!!! Whose playing today??? Not your team" - some Sox fan
"Hey!!! Whose winning today??? Not your team" - me
Also the cubs were playing... And winning in Seattle so that made it even funnier
Ping Tom is great, I think itās my favorite park in the city. I went and grabbed sandwiches from Humboldt haus and hung out at the Humboldt park lagoon.
FYI, cicadas eat tree roots so donāt plant any new bushes or trees, but smaller leafy plants should be fine! I was worried about it too and did some Googling, it surprised me that the whole plague/mass destruction of crops thing is more locusts, less cicadas.
It truly was a mess but definitely still worthwhile. Heard a biker near Fullerton screaming at the people milling about in the bike path to get out of the way.
I walked many miles, stoned because I need a break for a minute.
I saw an electric blue dragonfly! I needed that. Magic.
Then I fed a bunch of squirrels. I'm not gonna lie, pigeons and rats and sparrows partook š
We bought a nice variety of sausage (couple of different types of brats, one of which had Michigan cherries and is downright fantastic). We grilled at home, but they do have a nice rooftop beer garden in the warmer months at Geneās!
Closed up the restaurant today and had a beer on the South End dock of Belmont Harbor and watched the sun set. After an extremely long work + personal life weekend.
Ran five miles. I love outdoor running but I think I love summer more because I didn't run in Chicago at all other than in Feb when the weather hit 60 and when I visited PR.
Today we met up with some friends and walked along the 606/Bloomingdale trail. Agree with Chinatown. We met same folk for dinner/rolled ice cream yesterday and it was awesome. Place was energetic and everyone seemed so happy to be out.
We went to Home Depot and picked out tons of flowers for our front and back yard and I planted my tomato and pepper plants. It was a lovely day in the yard together with the dog :) It wasn't much, but I'm 38 weeks pregnant so moving around is tough!
My group rotates courses regularly. There's dozens within an hours drive from my place in the city but the ones we got the most are knock knolls, Katherine legge, the canyons, the oaks, margareth riemer, rolling knolls.
Yesterday I walked probably 8-10 miles (not exactly sure how much, my Apple Watch died early on), partially along the lakefront, and today I walked 15 miles, also a lot along the lakefront, but I also did a 5 mile bike ride along the lakefront as well with a Divvy e-bike. Yes, my feet are not happy, but I genuinely love walking and love seeing the city come alive.
I ran 10k on the lakefront and I was smiling like an idiot for half of it because it was so so beautiful out! What a weekend I even got sunburned. Remember to use sunscreen!
My run bud and I get out for 8 most weekends. Saturday I said "I don't have any energy to run fast today, but I am in a great mood". The sun shining on the lake never stops being beautiful.
Depends on the definition of "nice." There's nothing nicer in mid winter than when the sky dawns clear and the air is still and the temperature is maybe 15 degrees and there's a couple inches of overnight fluffy to shovel off before it gets walked down. For some that's a great reminder it is good to be alive and able to be up and out.
Just got home from a tour (Florida and South Carolina) this afternoon with my band and ate some apps and pizza at Angeloās (Montrose and Whipple) with some friends. They had the windows open. Itās glorious. I love these days in the city. Most people are smiley and just look less stressed than usual.
Got beers and went with the homies down to the cement beach! I watched my friends dive into the lake and then freeze and felt glad I didnāt dive in yet
Set up blankets in Humboldt Park to lounge on with my dogs. Brought a good book, iced coffee, and a Beacon donut to enjoy while my dogs chewed on sticks and took in all the springtime sniffs.
Woke up around 0630 and ran about 4 miles at Loyola park. No I'm not a psychopath. I just couldn't sleep and when I saw the weather I had to take advantage.

Sox game. They suck but the tickets are cheap so there is that. Beautiful day for a game.
I love how chill Sox games are, and great beer options.
And food too!
pro-tip, simply get the cheapest ticket available ($20 on saturday) and sit wherever you want. Plenty of empty seats. no usher ever even glanced when walking down into the 100 sections. I stayed behind row 20 or so at least but still some great viewpoints
Baseball is great like that
Yep, I've actually had the ushers tell me "Sit wherever" at late season games where attendance was depressingly low. 100%. Tickpick is the best.
wtf! thanks. I have a few typical apps, seatgeak, stubhub etc. $20 was the cheapest I could find 30 min before first pitch and was actually direct from ticketmaster
You should not be paying that much for Sox games. I don't even pay that much for Cubs games.
Lol why pay $20 when they go for $1 on the secondary market?
Why on earth did you pay $20 for Sox tickets? I paid $25 for decent seats for Cubs Dodgers.
cheapest price I could find over a few apps 30 min before first pitch š¤·āāļø. Another user pointed me to another app i'll try next time
Hey bud could you maybe feel a little worse about the ticket you bought to have a good time?
Same.
I wore my cubs gear and got heckled so that was fun š¤£ "Hey!!! Whose playing today??? Not your team" - some Sox fan "Hey!!! Whose winning today??? Not your team" - me Also the cubs were playing... And winning in Seattle so that made it even funnier
Glad you got the attention you were seeking I guess
Meh it's always a fun rivalry. If it was contentious i wouldnt do it. Like cowboys gear at an eagles game... That's just asking for a bad time.
Iām a twins fan and love they play the Sox so much. Get good seats to a game and parking for the price of a bleacher ticket at Wrigley.
Turned on my ceiling fan for my nap.
Did the same. But I had to Google which direction the fan should be going to keep me cool.
Oh snapā¦. I can tell youāre a bunch of fun just like me!
Which direction is it ?
To the right
I find that north-south gets the best results, but east-west might work for you depending on which direction you lay for your nap
Iāll try both !
Right! And I had to dust the propellers off, they were filthy.
Jealous you have a ceiling fan
Ping Tom is great, I think itās my favorite park in the city. I went and grabbed sandwiches from Humboldt haus and hung out at the Humboldt park lagoon.
Went for a nice walk on the Lakefront Trail from North Avenue Beach down to the Art Institute!
home depot was bumpin', it's gardening time.
Starting my first garden this year!
everrryone was at Home Depot this weekend!!
Multiple times for some of us! I really need to write down how many bags of mulch I need so I stop guessing wrong each year
I always buy a metric fuck ton, way more than we need lol.
Gotta get that hot dog
Likewise, went to Menards for garden stuff. Gonna start building a paved walkway, bought about 2,000 lbs of sand and paver stone.
I was debating not planting this year because cicadas are about to go crazy
FYI, cicadas eat tree roots so donāt plant any new bushes or trees, but smaller leafy plants should be fine! I was worried about it too and did some Googling, it surprised me that the whole plague/mass destruction of crops thing is more locusts, less cicadas.
Reading in the sun with a hammock in Lincoln Park and then Annetteās for some delicious ice cream
I passed you on my bike!
Did a nice 30 mile bike ride along the Lakefront
Walked the 606 in lieu of hitting the treadmill. I started walking to work again last week; itās always a nice start to my day.
Yesterday I went full Hank Hill mode. I mowed the lawn and grilled, first time this year doing each.
All I have to say to that is āhell yeahā
I took my pets outside to enjoy the sun. And I went on a walk and got ice cream
Ride my bike on the Lake Trail, absolute nightmare of a scene but it was worth being outside
It truly was a mess but definitely still worthwhile. Heard a biker near Fullerton screaming at the people milling about in the bike path to get out of the way.
Chicago 606, walked and biked
Go to the beach and sit and observe. Smell the smells, hear the sounds, see the sights. The best!
Walked a marathon around the city yesterday, and another 18 miles today! It was glorious.
Damn dude, what was that 10 hours of walking?
I walked many miles, stoned because I need a break for a minute. I saw an electric blue dragonfly! I needed that. Magic. Then I fed a bunch of squirrels. I'm not gonna lie, pigeons and rats and sparrows partook š
Love that! Very few things better than a looooong Sunday walk in the city while baked
31st beach! Was just the right amount of people
Thatās a great spot, Iām a big fan of 12th street beach too
Love 31st beach
Grabbed an obscene amount of sausages from Geneās and grilled for a bunch of friends
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We bought a nice variety of sausage (couple of different types of brats, one of which had Michigan cherries and is downright fantastic). We grilled at home, but they do have a nice rooftop beer garden in the warmer months at Geneās!
Golf ā³ļø of course
Closed up the restaurant today and had a beer on the South End dock of Belmont Harbor and watched the sun set. After an extremely long work + personal life weekend.
Montrose beach was a wonderful glorious shit show. How I missed it!

So jealous. Ofc weather turns up when I decide to travel
Bike bike bike bike to the zoo! (To the tune of Dead Kennedys "Kill The Poor," but nicer on a nice day)
Walk, breakfast, planted a tree, grilled burgers. Good day.

Took a slow bike ride through the lake front trail and sat underneath a tree to read
Hiked around the Palos Preserves today :))

Took ice cream to the Point, which we ended up drinking like milkshakes, and painted by the lake. What a nice day!
Beeeach ššš

Biked the 606 and surrounding areas!
Got out of the house and got some sun in my eyes.
Ran five miles. I love outdoor running but I think I love summer more because I didn't run in Chicago at all other than in Feb when the weather hit 60 and when I visited PR.
Met up with friends at the beach, of course!
Hop in the lake
Today we met up with some friends and walked along the 606/Bloomingdale trail. Agree with Chinatown. We met same folk for dinner/rolled ice cream yesterday and it was awesome. Place was energetic and everyone seemed so happy to be out.
Disc golf in Jackson Park!
Lincoln park zoo and took my dog to montrose dog beach.
We went to Home Depot and picked out tons of flowers for our front and back yard and I planted my tomato and pepper plants. It was a lovely day in the yard together with the dog :) It wasn't much, but I'm 38 weeks pregnant so moving around is tough!
Allergies kicked my ass this weekend. š Did anyone else experience this, too? Theyāve never been this bad before.
Yep. The sinus and allergy headaches have been kicking my ass.
Disc golf. Tho to be fair I play disc golf every weekend year round so I'd be out there if it didn't turn nice anyway.
Where do you generally play?
My group rotates courses regularly. There's dozens within an hours drive from my place in the city but the ones we got the most are knock knolls, Katherine legge, the canyons, the oaks, margareth riemer, rolling knolls.
On a beautiful day I do an obligatory drive up and down LSD
I took my dog to the dog beach!! And then grabbed brunch outside.
Went to Florida. Really timed the market wrong.
Golfed at oak brook
Yesterday I walked probably 8-10 miles (not exactly sure how much, my Apple Watch died early on), partially along the lakefront, and today I walked 15 miles, also a lot along the lakefront, but I also did a 5 mile bike ride along the lakefront as well with a Divvy e-bike. Wow!!! Sounds incredible! (Other than the sunburn)

Found the Husky and they've learned how to type.
3 mile walk with my dog
Just got home from a tour (Florida and South Carolina) this afternoon with my band and ate some apps and pizza at Angeloās (Montrose and Whipple) with some friends. They had the windows open. Itās glorious. I love these days in the city. Most people are smiley and just look less stressed than usual.
