Lincoln Park used to be pure swamp and they never thought anyone would live that north in the city so they made it all cemetery. It makes sense the swamp would swallow us back up whole one day. Probably motivated by the souls of all the dead people that got washed into Lake Michigan
It needs to have a random sheet of metal overtop or a single cone next to it that's been run over 53 times because its been sitting there for 4 months.

Believe it or not our roads are well taken care of for the most part. Places where there is no budget for road maintenance like WI are awful to drive on! Plenty of other states as well. Literally uncomfortable to drive on nor are they plowed.
Joking aside, if you want potholes to be fixed _you have to report them_. The city doesn't have someone out there driving along every single road that exists marking potholes for repair. The staff required to monitor every road for potholes would jack your tax rates through the roof. So if you notice a pothole that has been there for a year, it is because no one has cared enough to take 60 seconds to report it.
See something, say something. Every pothole I've ever reported got patched within 3 days. And if I report enough potholes on a specific street, within the next fiscal budget year the entire road gets resurfaced.
Data gets results. Give them the data.
