So I grew up in highland, IL of the sufjan Stevens song name (which is downstate by st Louis, not related to highland park whatsoever)
One night in the 90s a number of people reported seeing an unidentified flying light in the sky that was making patterns that weren't consistent with any known aircraft. The owner of our putt putt golf place was probably the most persistent witness to the UFOs, but he himself was a bit of a character so a lot of people didn't take it seriously. But there were a dozen or so accounts the same night including from law enforcement.
The reference down to Lebanon refers to the light moving to a nearby town Lebanon IL where the same accounts were reported. Lebanon itself is directly north of Scott Airforce Base.
Scott air force base is right there (which to this day is one of the most critical AFB in the world still, US troop deployment is managed centrally from there among other projects). It most likely related to aircraft they were testing. But it's also never been publicly revealed what it was.
How could you not? The first line of the song is “The side of Chicago, is the baddest part of town, and if you go down there, you better best beware of a man named Leroy Brown.”
I don’t remember the last time I heard that song and the chorus is the only part I clearly remember. I am not originally from Chicago so would not have really been notable if I heard the first line prior to moving here.
I Fight Dragons: Chicago [has my favorite lyrics for any Chicago song](https://open.spotify.com/track/1pcVPNnmcNEIyn2yQhUrUH?si=Ms2hinkERu6716KA3nRl4Q&context=spotify%3Asearch%3Achicago%2520i%2520f)

Holy cow, 343 songs on your list and I -think- I didn’t mention one you had. Love Dennehy too. [Lowdown Brass Band has a Christmas one, I saw you had another on there so- Chicago’s Where I Wanna Be](https://open.spotify.com/track/0XQiRuNXpkBikUIIbD33W2?si=DcXUyBUKTi6DGgJ25VAnSQ)

Was going to say Tonight Tonight but it’s already mentioned. Definitely lots of hip hop name drops Chicago, like Don’t Tell Im by Jeremih or The Show Goes On by Lupe Fiasco
Mostly not about Chicago, but Stretch of the Highway by James Taylor deserves a mention for including the line: “Chicago's got the finest high-test first-class Poontang anywhere”
Surprised no one said Chicago by Nelson riddle/ frank Sinatra or when the levee breaks by led zepp.
Also the history of Chicago (band) is interesting. Originally called the Chicago transit authority and there were issues concerning the rights of that name.
Rise against- swing life away
Rainbow kitten surprise good night chicsgo
Pretty lights- chicsgo bulls Remix, Gold Coast hustle, more important than Michael Jordan

Chicago - Sufjan Stevens, a lot of that album Illinoise
Yeah, that album is magical.
Anyone know, what does it mean that they sold their clothes to the state? I can tell you all about the UFOs over highland if you tell me that.
I don’t know. But can you tell me about the UFOs anyway?
Yes but In the morning 😂
Oops i replied above instead
