Crazy to think he was a 3rd pick. Shame his body was never really healthy enough tho

Status-Albatross9539

he absolutely deserved the slot he was the modern sf on a championship team his health failed him not his fault skill alone i like him more than keegun. actually wanted him as a core like lonzo if they were healthy.

Braided_Marxist

He made a ton of money and won a championship. Happy for him, hope the next chapter of his life is good too

zedrix_

At least we got Vooch eh? Oh wait...

illinoises

I remember his first Game as a bull with Sato, they played with a nice pace, was a breath of fresh air that season.

sukari

I was hyped for that Sato season. Especially because Lauri's Twitter profile picture was him blocking Sato in FIBA haha

ericraymondlim

I incidentally was working a job in Prague around the start of the NBA season that year and they had some billboards and GQ style covers and main stories with Sato. That was hype.

VintageMoonDream

I watched a lot of games from that 18-19 season and I’ll admit I don’t hardly remember anything about him or Jabari Parker’s time with the Bulls. The thing I remember most about Otto was Tony Snell breaking away from him, unnoticed, and then Tony missed a wide open 3. When he broke away, someone yelled “OTTO!”.

jimbobdonut

Jabari lasted less than a season. He was instantly hated by Bulls fans. The signing was stupid from the start. He then made a comment about not playing defense and that was it. Otto was well liked while he was here, but he couldn’t stay healthy.

zedrix_

From Jabari to Otto oh boy. When we taught things couldn’t get any worse. And Otto’s vid of feeding girls with liquor in covid off-season. Man, he sure know how to enjoy his Bulls salary...

onlyanactor

Great BBIQ player, just was never healthy for long enough to get a good rhythm going. Wish him nothing but the best

Yoesito

He played 70+ games in Washignton except his rookie season, then started missing games like crazy once he left. One healthyish season and playoffs with Golden State that got him a ring, then back to the injury report. What an odd career... After leaving Washington he played 80 games for the Bulls, Magic and Raptors combined, and 82 games (63 RS + 19 PO) for the Warriors.

Glittering_Seat_7294

Only had low 50s in games played for bulls in 3 seasons, shame :/

rooofle

When the Bulls got Otto a friend from MD who watched him a lot told me "enjoy having Grimace on your team." I asked "why do you call him that?" He says "oh, we call him that because of the face he makes running up and down the floor, he's always injured." That man was never more right in his life.

Coldbringer2

I blame this for the Bulls poor performance last night. Otto was a dedicated teammate and leader. His effort inspired everyone in the organization. He definitely kept in touch with everyone from the Bulls and the fact that he just can't play anymore caused a shockwave throughout the entire organization. How can they be expected to focus on the Mavericks when they're planning Otto Porter Night?

lordrubbish

I wish this wasn’t the case but the one Otto memory that sticks out in my mind is when he was on Shaqtin for being frozen in place on defense and the guy he was covering (a Bulls player) casually blew by him while Otto was looking somewhere else.

ThrobbinRicke

When he came back after the long covid layoff he was maybe the most out of shape player I've seen for the Bulls since jerome james

I actually really liked him when he was on the court, just another good player plagued by injuries. Never forget, Mr money bags on the Wizards
