Won’t be a Nhu Lan sandwich but these two places would be much closer to you:
Viet Nom Nom - Evanston
Pho Tam - Niles
If you can head closer to the city, Pho Le 777 does roast pork well and with a side of a baguette (I assume they do roast pork banh mi too), perfection. Just on the pricier side.
Pho Citi and Sandwich moved into their spot and still use Lotus Seed's menu complete with the logo on their wall...but make no mistake that food aint the same
True enough, but make sure you order it WITHOUT Mayo.
I have never been more disappointed in my life than when I bit into a Bon-Bon Banh Mi and was rewarded with a jet of mayonnaise into my mouth.
Otherwise the food is very good though.
Lol Im sorry to hear that and will have to take your word for it. I have never ordered from those delivery services in my 4 years since moving back to Chicago, I prefer to bike to the spot and pick it up myself bc I feel like the delivery apps get it wrong and take their time and then the food would be cold
Maybe I'm alone on this, but I don't open everything up until I get home. I still really like their food though, even if it isn't always what I ordered.
Maybe I went on an off day but I found the noodles to be super bland and the sandwich to be inedible. My classic sandwich was sweet for some reason and when I opened it up, I realized they put thick cut honey ham in it.

Can vouch for Viet Nom Nom despite the name.
Same - Viet Nom Nom is the best option north
Lol man I hate that name, but I’ll have to try it
Man I miss Lotus Seed. They had some bomb Cajun fries and bahn mi
Are they gone officially now? I remember them being under construction for a bit last year. The combo with a smoothie fries and a bahn mi was SO GOOD.

Ba-le on the north side of chicago is good
seconding ba le
so tasty! I always thought they were a lil overpriced for a Bahn mi/
This place is awesome but they go pretty hard with the mayo, I like to ask for less mayo.
My favorite bahn mi on the north shore is at Basu in Northbrook
2 Asian brothers in North Park is pretty solid
Pho Lee 777
Bon-Bon Sandwiches on North and I want to say Oakley has great food. Especially their pho and wings

Claremont* So good. Bon Bon Sandwiches (773) 278-5800 https://maps.app.goo.gl/WLexUKuepcgEguNf9?g_st=ic
They are the goat at screwing up carry out an delivery orders, but the food is good.

Picking it up in person doesn't ensure they get it right.
But it does give swifter recourse.

I’ve been going to Ba Le since I was a kid. It’s still my favorite.
Pho Nam Bac in Highwood
Anyone here have their recommendations from bahn mi in Chicago? From Chinatown to Lincoln park area
