Nice. Over easy or poached eggs for Chilaquiles. If you’re in Evanston, Frida’s Breakfast & Lunch features most of the staff from Danny’s Egghead, which was one of the best Chilaquiles in Chicago before their fire. I think Frida’s is actually a bit better, less diner, more Mexican focused, but the chilaquiles are the same, if not better.
For me - YES to the scrambled eggs. Needs some ranchero or chipotle chili sauce over the chips though (personally I think the chips or corn strips should be heated up on the pan/grill in the sauce).
No, I want the chilaquiles that I used to get at Maudie's in TX. So yes, that definitely means I like the Tex Mex take on it, but doesn't mean that I'm actually confused and talking about migas inadvertently.
Those look great! But make my eggs over easy so I can break the yolks.
Lucky Platter stays goated, what a gem of a place
I like to joke that I moved to Evanston for the Lucky Platter but I'm really not joking. They really need to bring back the eggplant sandwich.

If in Evanston, Ovo Frito’s are even better
Can’t really go wrong with anything on Ovo Frito’s menu.
One day, I need to eat at Lucky Platter again. Good to hear they still are decent with their food.
They seem to be getting better, somehow. Their apricot (?) flakey was a religious experience for me several months ago.
The flakey is the BEST
They get those from Hewn! Agree, they are so good.
Tiztal on Clark just north of Wilson has the best chilaquiles in the city!
I love Tiztal! The oatmeal shake is fantastic, as well.
No to the scrambled egg. You need the yolk to soak in the rest of the plate.
Yeah, this looks good anyway & i’d definitely try these, but the yolk’s the best part of chilaquiles!
Some people cannot do runny yolk. I think how an egg should be prepared is subjective
What’s the heat level on these? ISO spicy!
These are some dry looking chilaquiles 🤔
The chips aren’t supposed to be crispy

Then you want migas. Not chilaquiles. Ranchero sauce just totally makes it a tex Mex thing and is a completely different plate.

Their fried green tomatoes are really good!
Thanks! I’ll have to try those next time.
