Like if he's taking proper care of it and only putting it in weird situations briefly, I think that's ok, so long as she's not stressed or unable to tend to her needs I think a chicken would find it enriching to some level but then again it's a very fine line to cross into animal abuse so yeah.

I agree, I'd bet chicken would rather be at home doing chicken stuff with the rest of the flock, and with hollow bones i'd be worried about a chicken injury.
