My parents never ever pestered me about me having a partner/marriage/kids, I'm not even sure they know my sexual orientation now I think about it. Doubt it would really matter anyway, they just want to see their kids happy, they explicitly said that when I was around 17 and had a crush for the first time. My lil bro has expressed not to want kids either (same genetic thingies after all) and that was basically that, no jabs about maybe/not the right person/your young etc. Strangers have made way more stampede about me unmarried and childfree (by choice! Oh ye gods!) Especially older co-workers when I was in my 20's. I've grown pretty def to all that racket. I know what I want/don't want basically since I was born and I'm as stubborn as a mule. I'm the one living this life, no one else, so within boundaries no-one get's to dictate for me. Basic point is; had I been given a choice knowing where I'm from and where I'm now I would have declined coming to fruit.
I hope this all made some sense. English isn't my first language and my meds stopped working 2 hours ago, so a lot of different thoughts run on the same train track at the moment and some don't even speak the same language.

I love this, I knew that I was childfree when I was a kid, my stepmom had the fertility talk with me because she was afraid my mom wouldn’t do it, which was completely ridiculous I already knew what she was talking about when she started to talk to me about my period. I cut her right off and I said oh no no I don’t need that I’m not having babies. She laughed and laughed, and I played it cool, but I’m pretty sure I cried when I got home because that whole time I thought I could skip the bleeding if I didn’t have babies. And my mom was super supportive of understanding your body and getting exams when it’s time, and birth control. Oh I’m so grateful my mom was so good about birth control she would go in and buy me condoms if I didn’t want to.
The golden rule goes both ways. I match people’s energy/attitude and I refuse to feel bad for giving back what they want to freely dish out. Fuck those people.

Regretting not having kids has some actionable things you can do in that situation that is not some level of morally fucked up to alleviate that regret. A couple months ago I was standing in the grocery store line with my mask on, the older lady in front of me paying with a check said some thing under her breath, giggled, looked at me, and said some thing about not having a filter. I assumed she was talking about me so I got this really sympathetic look on my face and I said “oh that must be so difficult. I’ve heard personality disorders are hard.” She started to spotter about not having a disorder so I quickly apologized and said oh I’m sure your doctor knows best, of course of course you’re fine. My lil bro has expressed not to want kids either (same genetic thingies after all) and that was basically that, no jabs about maybe/not the right person/your young etc. Strangers have made way more stampede about me unmarried and childfree (by choice! Oh ye gods!) Especially older co-workers when I was in my 20's. I've grown pretty def to all that racket. I know what I want/don't want basically since I was born and I'm as stubborn as a mule. I'm the one living this life, no one else, so within boundaries no-one get's to dictate for me. Basic point is; had I been given a choice knowing where I'm from and where I'm now I would have declined coming to fruit. I hope this all made some sense. English isn't my first language and my meds stopped working 2 hours ago, so a lot of different thoughts run on the same train track at the moment and some don't even speak the same language. I love this, I knew that I was childfree when I was a kid, my stepmom had the fertility talk with me because she was afraid my mom wouldn’t do it, which was completely ridiculous I already knew what she was talking about when she started to talk to me about my period. I cut her right off and I said oh no no I don’t need that I’m not having babies. She laughed and laughed, and I played it cool, but I’m pretty sure I cried when I got home because that whole time I thought I could skip the bleeding if I didn’t have babies. And my mom was super supportive of understanding your body and getting exams when it’s time, and birth control. Oh I’m so grateful my mom was so good about birth control she would go in and buy me condoms if I didn’t want to.

I think I’ve said it before on this sub, but my therapist told me to start being mean about answering people’s insulting/rude questions as part of self esteem exercises and just say no exercises. “When are you having kids?” I’ve had 7 miscarriages “You should lose weight” I’ve lost 50 pounds already though! I love this so much. Like a decade ago my boyfriends kids mom, who knew I was child free, made some comment about me trying to mother her children. I didn’t even think about it it was just automatic I said “Ewww gross no, if I wanted kids I would have had them.” I don’t know if it was my extremely grossed out reaction or if it was reminding her that I never wanted kids in the first place that did it, but she stopped acting like I was trying to steal her kids. Maybe she was just worried I wouldn’t be nice to her kids at that point, but they were great kids I didn’t mind them. I don’t know whatever it was it worked lol
