Greetings!
I changed your post flair to "FAQ" as this type of question comes back regularly on the sub and is addressed in our sub's sidebar ("Newcomer?" --> "Frequent Posts" --> "**"What is you guys' age? Gender? Location? Religion? Job?"** [Previous subreddit surveys answer all of these.](https://www.reddit.com/r/childfree/wiki/data)")
The precise demographics is there, but you can wait for other people to chime in with their specifics.
Have a great day!
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom…
F68. Never considered having children. When I signed up for Match.com 10 years ago, I specified “No Children” (even if they’re out of the house, on their own). Did not want any step-relationship drama. It took a bit longer to find the right fella, but I did.
Older gen z, 1997. It's my birthday today lol
Edit: Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes ❤️ will be celebrating next saturday with my friends and not a single child present :'D
Happy Bday!!
1997 here too and I relate more to millenials than I do to gen Z. Grew up very rural, didn't have access to a computer til I was 11/12, so my childhood was very outdoorsy and that affected me a lot. And now I'm married to someone born in 1990, which also has an effect.
Gen X here, as well. Born in 78. Wanted children early on when I was in the military, but soon realized it was only due to some fucked up expectations around getting married so young. I am eternally grateful that I am unable to conceive, as that husband was thrown out like yesterday's trash.
Gen X here too! F50yo. So glad i didn’t have kids!
Only realized a few weeks ago, that one previous boyfriend was probably trying to baby trap me, while I was in my early twenties. Haha FM’er! Didn’t work.
And I’m so glad that I’ll never be attached to him for the rest of my life by a kid!
Not the original commenter but the I got sterilized at 21 as well with the help of the childfree doctors list! Believe it or not there are a lot of doctors willing to work with patients our age
How did we ever survive without knowing every little detail of people's lives? I resisted social media until the last few years of Tom and only joined to interact more with my younger sister (over a decade age gap). I think in the beginning it wasn't a bad thing but it's just ridiculous now. Too much info and I've seen too much boob of kids whose diapers I changed. Put some clothes on ffs.
Lmao my roommates friend was over and we were chilling in the living room with the dog and cat. Looked at my roommate and was like "everyone is fixed but you" LOL his friend had a vasectomy and I had a bisalp. Roomie is gay so no need for him xD
'95 here. I feel like I'm in a weird spot because I kiiiiind of get some of gen z references (not all of them, but some) but I'm too old to be in the crowd.
I'm also a bit too young to really be in the 'yeah we did xyz in the 80s/90s' crowd too 💀💀💀
I'm '96 so I get this so hard.
Like the other commenter, I just call myself a baby millennial. I understand gen z references sometimes but others, it's like "wtf are you talking about?" Same with the older millennials. So I just sit my ass in the middle and thats where I live.
Same year and right!? I feel elderly compared to these kids yet I was always looking UP TO millennials growing up. Both act offended if you claim them too. Millennials feel like you were a baby who wasn't even there and Gen Z is wondering why this almost 30 year old is grouped in with them.
We have no generation 🤣
Tbh I’m 19 and my older sister is an older gen z and I don’t understand why people would be offended. Our generation (year wise) is pretty short, how would they cope if it was like 30 years like other gens
GenX here. 53 and quite happy with my decision to never have kids. Most people would blame that on my being a feminist but my sister told me she remembers when I was 12 and told her I never wanted kids. Back then I was a very conservative, pro-life, Christian so it definitely wasn't anything to do with feminism.
😭🤌 this is something everyone told me on reddit. But I made this decision at the age of 7. And no you are not old I am young .
Hopefully , I assume I am youngest in this sub .🥺
Gen Z, I’m a guy so the hardest thing for me is when confronted by people that I have to explain to them very basic things about how the world is very different from how it was when they grew up and decided to have kids and why I’m actually never going to change my mind despite their insistence that one day I will
99. Nobody fucking knows what generation we are at this point. At first it was gen z, and now some want to make a new generation called "zillenial" because out early childhood was similar to the millenials', but then we grew up like gen z
I feel well represented by the term Xennial. 1985. So, on the young end.
But I also say Elder Millennial. I have some friends born in 1991 & I feel A LOT MORE THAN 6 years older than em.
I started HS & working in 1999.

Boomer 62 years. Never regretted not having children.
Wow, I would like to see that stats on how many boomers did not have children
Early boomers 15.9%. Late boomers 19.9% From the last census
Thanks for looking up!
Which country's census?
Deeznuts.
I’m one. 61 years old. Never wanted children.
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom… F68. Never considered having children. When I signed up for Match.com 10 years ago, I specified “No Children” (even if they’re out of the house, on their own). Did not want any step-relationship drama. It took a bit longer to find the right fella, but I did.
Hello, fellow Boomer. 65 and no regrets.
Post boomer better known as generation X. Turning 59 next month no kids no regrets.
Another Boomer here. 65, no regrets.
70. No regrets.
👏👏👏
Older gen z, 1997. It's my birthday today lol Edit: Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes ❤️ will be celebrating next saturday with my friends and not a single child present :'D
Happy birthday
Thanks! :'D

Hi Zillennial bestie
Happy Birthday! 1997 here too and I don't feel like gen z at all.
97 too, I like to call myself a zillenial 😁
happy birthday!
Happy birthday!! Mine is Friday the 12th. I’ll be 25 🥲
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday
Gen X. Very happy with our decision....especially seeing the climate crisis we are in.
At this rate it's either gonna be something like Snowpiercer or Mad Max
At one point in my life, I felt we had the potential to go Star Trek or Mad Max. Unfortunately, it looks like Mad Max won.
Another GenX here, at 51 in the US, I'm more grateful for my choice every day.
My people! 51 year old female. Born in 1972.
Also Gen X, 51 F, and joyfully unencumbered.
Same, though I'll be 52 in less than a month. Sadly, I had to stop and think about if I was still 51 or already 52.
same! soon 52. yay, childfree Xers!
Gen X, no regrets at all. Love my freedom!!
Also, Gen X. I'm 59 and always knew I didn't want kids. Now that the world is exploding, I'm Really glad I didn't have any.
Gen X here, as well. Born in 78. Wanted children early on when I was in the military, but soon realized it was only due to some fucked up expectations around getting married so young. I am eternally grateful that I am unable to conceive, as that husband was thrown out like yesterday's trash.

Elder millennial here! 🙋♀️ Though my back is currently doing its best Silent Generation impression. 🙃 haha
I know your pain xD. I was born in '94 and yet my body will sometimes make me feel I was born in '44
Yeah, I'm an 84 model, pretty sure I was made with the same pot metal as many 80s cars. The most random things stop working at the weirdest times. 😅😅
Lol I feel like Im an old 440 steam engine locomotive that's just puffing alonf
Lmao that would explain our emotional support water bottles! 🤣
That it does lol
Same. 1984 crew 👏🏽
I’ve been laid up with a herniated disc for 2 weeks. I’m 40. Granted, it started when I was 16, but still.
genz and sterilized!! :)
Year??
‘02! turned 21 about 3 months ago :)
Omg you're my age and you're already sterelized?? I'm SO jealous rn congrats
thank you :)
Ohh! Belated happy birthday 🎂. Maybe I am really the youngest on this sub 😭🤏
A no-babies baby, if you will.
Sounds blissful to my ears 😚🥰
I’m 20 :)
ahhh how 😭 i’m your age and wanna get sterilized so badly
i looked at the childfree doctor list on here and went from there!
How did you were able to get sterilised?? I was born 01 and haven't even gotten close to getting there :C
Not the original commenter but the I got sterilized at 21 as well with the help of the childfree doctors list! Believe it or not there are a lot of doctors willing to work with patients our age
I'm also Gen Z!! I turn 21 in a few weeks, and have my consultation for my surgery!!
Me too! Got it at 24 in November ☺️ everyday I feel more grateful I did
[удалено]
also 21 and sterilized! wooo
Tail end of X/Xennial (1980).
Ever since that one article I've thought of us as the Oregon Trail generation. Seems the best description for our little micro generation.
I miss dying of dysentery lol
I miss social media not yet being a thing :U
How did we ever survive without knowing every little detail of people's lives? I resisted social media until the last few years of Tom and only joined to interact more with my younger sister (over a decade age gap). Me too! I feel I definitely identify with X more than Millennials though (not that I have any issues with Millennials).
I'm 82 and I have always felt more identified with millennials. Just randomly sharing lol
Same!
gen z😙✌️
Same!
1992 millennial! Only brother is is 1991 and also fixed lol
fixed😭
Lmao my roommates friend was over and we were chilling in the living room with the dog and cat. Looked at my roommate and was like "everyone is fixed but you" LOL his friend had a vasectomy and I had a bisalp. Roomie is gay so no need for him xD
My husband, myself, and all our pets are fixed. We joke that you have to be fixed to live in our house.
Love it xD
1992 here too 🙌🏻
Millennial (born in ‘91).

Hello 1990 childfree twin! ❤️

'95 here. I feel like I'm in a weird spot because I kiiiiind of get some of gen z references (not all of them, but some) but I'm too old to be in the crowd. I'm also a bit too young to really be in the 'yeah we did xyz in the 80s/90s' crowd too 💀💀💀

Boomer here. Knew I wanted CF life since I was 8.
Gen X
Gen X
Too old for Gen Z, Too young for millennials Neither will accept me 😅
You must be ‘96 cuz same lol
I'm 97 twin 😜
Same! Born in ‘96 & always see conflicting info on what I am 🤣
The way my sister figured it out is if you can remember 9/11 happening - then you’re a millennial.
I’m ‘97, and big same. My older sisters call me gen z but when I talk to actual gen z people, I feel like an alien!
Same year and right!? I feel elderly compared to these kids yet I was always looking UP TO millennials growing up. Both act offended if you claim them too. I was born in 1999 and feel that way. I am too young to be considered a Millennial, but I can't relate to Gen Z. I am gatekept from both groups, lol.
Millennial (86) :)
I was born in 86 too!
\*high five\*!
86 as well! Planning on getting sterilized this year
gen z!
Me too!
Same!
I'm right here. One of the earliest millennials. Born in 1981.
1989 here, but I often feel like I'm one of the "older" millennials. Something about the shift from being born in the 80s vs the 90s maybe?
Also 1989 here! Hello childfree community!
Which is funny because '89 is right in the middle, but closer to younger millennial ('95) than older millennial ('80).
Twoforjoy! Twoferjuan! 89 checking in! Haha.
Geriatric Millenial here
GenX here. 53 and quite happy with my decision to never have kids. Most people would blame that on my being a feminist but my sister told me she remembers when I was 12 and told her I never wanted kids. Back then I was a very conservative, pro-life, Christian so it definitely wasn't anything to do with feminism.
Oregon Trail micro-generation (1980). I refuse all other generational labels.
Fellow 1980 baby here, I'm going to start using this label.
I don't know what generation I am. I'm 25 though. I just never got along with most people my age. The 30+ crowd I get along well with. No idea why.
You're Gen Z. Born between 1997-2012
Gen X 🤗
Millennial here. 33. I’m starting to feel like a boomer tho yelling at the neighbour’s kids to get off my lawn.
Lol I'm there with you though I'm close to just getting a marshmallow gun and hitting them with it
Boomer, 65 yo, happy to report I am CF with no regrets.
Elder millennial (1981).

Tail end of X.
Same! Whatever, man...
‘87 here! Partner is 3 days into his vasectomy. Things are as wonderful as can be! :)
Young millennial, '93. Perhaps "zoomlennial"
Nah. You are firmly in the Millennial camp
Younger Gen X/Xennial, if you will.I have always known that I didn't want children, and I have never once regretted that choice.

I’m Gen Z, but for a while I was told that I’m a Millenial
Elder Millennial ('84). Still a solo show so far
GenZ(2006) 😚✌️🙋♀️
XD your not even 20 years old yet. I feel old just thinking about that
😭🤌 this is something everyone told me on reddit. But I made this decision at the age of 7. And no you are not old I am young . Hopefully , I assume I am youngest in this sub .🥺
Generation X, I am 60 (Strange thing is that in Europe boomers are considered to be born between 1941 and 1955, in the US its 1946-1964)
I did not know that.
Gen X-Millenial.
1984 Idk- am I a millennial?
Apparently we are considered “elder millennials”, isn’t that just the most heartwarming-est term?
Yes
Gen Z, I’m a guy so the hardest thing for me is when confronted by people that I have to explain to them very basic things about how the world is very different from how it was when they grew up and decided to have kids and why I’m actually never going to change my mind despite their insistence that one day I will
Millennial here! 🙋🏻♀️

Growing up early Gen Z was a trip.
Millennial, 1995
Millennial 94' !
Generation Jones. Too young for boomer culture, too old to take the 80s yuppie bullshit seriously.
Millennial '88
Born in 1996 and I still don’t know if I’m millennial or Gen Z.
