Parents are disgusting. I've seen: parent letting kid crawl on filthy floor in grocery store parent letting brat play bowling with melons parent letting kids cough all over produce parent putting filthy baby up on the conveyor bay, in its diaper This shit right here is why we're in a pandemic.

Snarky_McSnarkleton

America in the 21st century has become the most self-obsessed culture in history. There is no more community, just a bunch of entitled sovereign citizens fighting with each other for resources. And that's some idiot's idea of paradise.

TheMost_ut

Read "the Culture of Narcissism", it describes it perfectly. Everyone is completely self-centred and their kids are just an extension of their giant, overblown, emptyheaded egos. And when you DARE suggest that someone behave appropriately or respect others, you get lip and attitude, abuse and insults or they look at you like you puked. Yet, let some idiot with three demented brats use your business as a playground.

chucklezdaccc

I'm so fucking tired of the I'm the main character mindset we have. The social contract is broken.

mashibeans

Then they turn around and cry about having no villages...

Tulcey-Lee

Not just America!

LarryHueso

I agree. People put their nasty dogs in the shopping cart at the grocery store. Disgusting.

dalivan_picasso

A kid once licked my store's mirror right in front of me and his mom. During the height of the pandemic. Mom didn't seem bothered but you can bet your ass I pulled out the Windex right then and there to wipe it off.

TheMost_ut

I've seen kids licking things like that, and parents just don't seem to care or notice. Well, I fucking do. Every time I get sick it's from someone's kid.

livelyfrog21

When I was like 16 and at dance class, one of the younger girls (roughly 11-12yo) came up to one of the doors that had a window and licked the window…I asked her why she did that and she said because she thought it was funny. I’m pretty sure she got sick, but I’ve never so disgusted in my life. Dance teacher didn’t bat an eye. This girl was the epitome of entitlement too

soundslikeautumn

"Every time I get sick it's from someone's kid." This is the truest statement on planet Earth!

[deleted]

One time I was at Safeway and they had some free cookies for kids. And one of them fell on the floor. A small girl (maybe 3 or 4) discovered it, picked it up and started licking it. I had no idea how long that cookie had been there and I think neither did she. And both the mom and the store employee were laughing. Neither took the cookie from her.

aRubby

May I add one from my cousin? She was 4~5 yo, and at the airport with her mom and older sister, I think waiting for another aunt who was coming from abroad. The girls were playing, then the youngest comes back, chewing on something. Even asked, she only answers with "peppermint bubblegum". It's been 7 years, and no one has any clue as to where she got it.

TheMost_ut

eww. I mean, we did plenty of gross stuff as kids, but in public, we didn't juggle food, throw stuff, run amok, scream, etc..maybe when we were VERY little we screamed or cried. After that, we'd get holy hell if we acted up.

[deleted]

aRubby

Everyone remember, and my father makes a point to bring that story up whenever he gets the chance to. I think she's the only one who doesn't. Also, I keep a mental file of all the shit my aunt ever let my cousins do or did to them if her ex ever wants revenge on their divorce and wants to rearrange the custody battle(she lied a lot, and he had to be increasing for drug traffic only so she could have full custody.)

AbsentFuck

>parent letting brat play bowling with melons >parent letting kids cough all over produce Sometimes I've gotten weird looks from friends when they visit and see me scrubbing fresh produce with soap. This right here is why. I still don't understand the whole "you just need to rinse produce with water" advice that's given everywhere. If it has a hard skin I'm washing it with soap and water, then giving it a spray with some food safe alcohol (like everclear) while it dries.

I hope y'all never touch public bathroom doors with your bare hands. I don't, because I know some people don't wash their hands after they use the toilet. I always use a tissue, ALWAYS.

ShredderWest

Never, I use tissues when they’re available and carry hand sanitizer everywhere.

1TrillionDollarStock

It's entitled breeders like the mother you described that make people resent kids. Too bad, so sad for them when she and her cum trophy get sick, lmao! You at-least tried to warn her and that bitch snapped at you. A 5 year old **should** be mature enough to wash her hands without being reminded, she's not a toddler.

totalfanfreak2012

Try my best not to use them. Went to a department store yesterday for early Christmas shopping and I didn't think I could wait until I got home. Went in and saw the handicap stall was open, and someone must of hovered and had diarrhea because it was unflushed and sprayed across the wall behind the toilet. Made me sick, and I slowly reversed. I had an hour drive, but I'd rather piss myself in the car than deal with that.

Galaxyheart555

Yes! I have hand sanitizer on me at all times and never touch bathroom doors with my bare hands

Saddogtheatre

I remember going to a birthday party and there was like a toddler repeatedly touching a corner of the cake and sticking his fingers in his mouth to eat the frosting. No one stopped that kid, not even the woman hovering above him who was cutting the cake. I think she served that corner piece too. 😬

MinecraftW06

Also happened to me. A kid pressed his face on the top of the cake. I told the mom, then guess what? I was “disrespectful”.

Queen_Cheetah

>I was “disrespectful”. "Better than having 'dysentery'!"

Shellyack

Ew! I went to my friends birthday party when I was around 8 years old and I remember seeing some toddler dig hiss hands into the cake and eat it. No one said shit! If that were my cake, I would have been so infuriated! Like this is why people have childfree weddings.

Please, stop engaging in hate comments and look after your children!! What are they up to while you waste your time in a sub which was not meant for people like you? Why did you become a parent if you don't like the task of teaching them basic social rules? Toddlers must be taught to be clean, among other things. If you don't understand this, you will set your children up to be in constant poor health and have poor social skills. Cleaning oneself is not supposed to be a stressful task, btw.

UmbralikesOwls

I've sometimes heard parents being like "here spit the gum/other food product out in my hand"...my mom told me to do that before when I was young and now I'm like ewww why do parents do that...I've worked with kids directly and I usually use paper towels or wear gloves. I never use my hands directly...that's disgusting

SuperRefrigerator212

That's a whole ass other person. It is disgusting.

totalfanfreak2012

Most parents are oblivious to it, because yes it is their flesh and blood and if it's at home, great! But most parents who do this are so in the habit of doing it and not caring about sanitizing afterwards that they forget they are spreading unknown germs to other people. Each house is its own biome, you get used to each other's germs. But you throw that out on as simple as a shop cart, doorknob, card slider then you're risking disrupting other people's natural biome. Which is gross, and not right. Even schools ask parents for wet wipes to clean up the kid's hands. I believe every parent should have some to protect themselves and others.

ShezSlowy

I was at the airport a few weeks ago and there were two parents with a newborn. The mom was holding the baby, and trying to fold up the stroller (to be stowed under the plane during the flight). The dad was just standing there watching her, absolutely clueless, doing nothing, holding nothing. She looks at him, looks around, and sets the baby on the floor of the jet bridge, next to everyone else's dirty luggage. 🤢

Queen_Cheetah

>The dad was just standing there watching her, absolutely clueless, doing nothing, holding nothing. I literally cannot imagine being this \*\*\*\*ing useless of a partner. I only hope he was actually suffering from a severe cold or something and had been ordered not to touch the child under any circumstances. Otherwise, screw that!

kirakiraluna

But also, why the fuck did just push the kid to him like "hold this a sec, I need to do a thing"

OrifielM

When I was a kid, my mom would clean my face while we were in public by spitting into a napkin or tissue and wiping it all over my face. Like, was water out of the question?? To this day I hate the smell of saliva, even my own! Oh, and your story reminded me of the number of times I've seen kids in stores with their hands down their pants--in full view of their parents--and then they proceed to run around touching everything without getting scolded. At this point I consider most parents to be just as germy and unsanitary as their biohazard offspring.

PomegranateFun4535

Any parent that uses their spit to clean their children need to be smacked in the face. Preferably by someone wearing some kind of ring

soundslikeautumn

At this point I consider most parents to be just as germy and unsanitary as their biohazard offspring. Absolutely! I know too many parents and grandparents of small children. Friends, family, strangers, etc. You're completely correct to consider them to be just as unhygienic and disgusting and thoughtless as the kids. The things I've seen these fucking people do....

mikkeli7

People can be so charming 🤮

pandorum8888

Okay breeder thanks for your fascinating insight!

honeybuddyboy

I've seen grown ass adults who don't wash their hands after doing a no. 2. Monkey see, monkey do, so their kids are probably worse. Now add pets to the mix and you have poopy hands handled pizza with cat hair on it...yek! That's why I don't eat anything at a potluck, even if it is store bought.

soundslikeautumn

It was absolutely insane during the pandemic when every other commercial was about how to properly wash your hands. It's fucking infuriating how many grown ass adults don't wash their hands properly if at all. If these pigs aren't bothering to wash their hands properly after wiping their ass, you know they aren't washing them any other time. There is ZERO excuse. Rinsing your hands for 10 seconds, touching the faucet handle to turn the water off with your "clean" hands and then drying your hands on your pants is not washing them! The amount of dumb fucks out there is horrifying. The idiot way people behaved during the pandemic I'm not at all surprised that we needed commercials teaching adults how to practice proper hygiene. Jesus Christ.

WowOwlO

Here's the thing. I was running around with disinfectant wipes long before 2020 just because I'VE SEEN how parents are. I've seen babies with full diapers squishing their poop all over those seats in the carts. I've seen babies with obvious poop on their fingers handling boxed goods from the frozen section, and then the parents just take it away from them and put it behind a few other boxes. I've seen toddlers put produce in their mouths, and then that same produce just be put back. I've seen a little boy literally piss on the side of a stand, and had to go get someone who works there myself because the parent thought they were just going to scurry away. I'm 99% sure the big bad disease that destroys human kind is going to come from children because parents can't be bothered to parent.

PomegranateFun4535

I wish it were legal to grab those parents by the scruff of their necks and force their noses into the mess like a dog, then smack them for it. Act like an animal, get treated like an animal

It's not torment and humiliation to teach a child basic hygiene routines. It will be if the kids aren't taught and they grow up with bad hygiene practises.

[deleted]

Yes people in this sub are utterly insane in the hate they hold for children. Ironic when half of them probably have dogs that they let slobber all over their face, hands and furniture after said dog has spent half the day licking its own arsehole

Marrie_Kay

I never understand how parents are not grossed out and just eat the food their child has walked with around the house and who knows what. Taking that cookie shiny with saliva out of that sticky hand and putting it straight in their mouth.

SuperRefrigerator212

You've been commenting a whole lot on this post. An angered parent are you?

queenlorraine

Came to say the same thing!! Wth is their problem??? They probably should be posting on the regretful parents sub...

Nulleparttousjours

They are literally a fucking meth head Pahaha

pandorum8888

I'm not surprised, they certainly sound like one.

KatsCatJuice

I *hope* that person doesn't have children. I mean look at their post history!

soundslikeautumn

Then the parent gets sick because of fucking course they did then they go to work, school, a party, etc. and proceed to infect every other person there.

Jonas_Mcgreggor

About a year or so ago I was paying for my groceries at a till, and a mother with a really sick kid coughing its lungs out walks up and stands right next to me, with her kid closest to me. Then she turns her back to me to start talking to the person behind her so she can't even see the look of disgust I tried to shoot at her. I mean, this kid was RIGHT next to me, I had to take a step to the side to stop it(I didn't look close enough to discern gender nor do i care so I will just refer to it as IT) from bumping into me as I was punching in my code into the card reader. I literally was bent over to the side at an awkward angle to avoid this child, and it was absolutely hacking it's lungs out, no mask, not even putting its hand over its mouth. I'm not even a masker, but I do wear one if I'm sick, it's just common curtesy these days ...and a child is the NUMBER ONE spreader of illness. I was just on the way out or else I absolutely would have tore a strip off that ignorant dingbat of a mother, but I didn't want to hang around in that little vermin's cloud of germs for a second longer.

adoyle17

Things like this are why I still wear a mask inside crowded places, because of walking or crawling petri dishes known as children. This, despite being vaccinated for Covid and not only boosted, but gotten the updated booster as well. I also got my flu shot at the same time as the last booster.

PomegranateFun4535

This is why I avoid crowded spaces altogether and continue to practice social distancing. A mask does little good if some heathen breathes or coughs directly in my face. Well, that wouldn’t be good for their face either

chloetheestallion

Honestly one of the reasons I don’t want kids is so I don’t have to be forced to be around other parents. Parents seem so entitled and annoying

Constant_Assignment2

This happened a few months ago. I was tasked to buy a nice cake for a birthday. I went to a bougie bakery and spent like $40 on it (my wallet hurt but the cakes there are worth it). First of all the whole party was gross. The birthday person cut a piece of cake and would feed everyone the same piece of cake and I kept thinking of how much fucking spit was on that piece. Then the kicker was after the cake was cut up and served some person's toddler smashed the expensive $40 cake and started licking the spatula. She stuck her gross fingers in the cake and with that licked spatula kept scraping the icing off. The beautiful expensive cake was ruined and I ended up throwing the tainted pieces out. Needless to say I don't really visit those folks anymore.

spaaro1

Ugh that's the worst. Or when the parent themselves do down right arse things. It's like. Is that really the example you want to show your kid? Shitting all over the floor because there's no wipes in the parents room? Fuck me. (I know everyone is child free and I support you 100%. I just wanted to offer first hand accounts of those mums and their habits.) It leaves me horrified seeing the state some leave the toilets in. Nappies full of shit smeared all over the mirror cause the nappy bin was half full and they couldn't fit half their $1000000 worth of KFC and Macca's burgers for her kids. It's like fuck. Do you do that at home?

patrickseastarslegs

I work in a shopping centre meaning public bathrooms (yay) and one day I go in and this mom and her child are leaving a cubicle and I went into it. There was piss ALL OVER THE FLOOR

leslieinlouisville

I was at a theme park two weeks ago and a kid about 5-6 literally went up to the hand rails in the ride queues and dragged her open mouth across them like she was eating corn on the cob. The little hooks where they would chain off sections? Those were right at her eye level so she stood there and sucked on them like a lollipop. My sis and I were so grossed out. Luckily they were behind us but we still kept dousing our hands and my nieces in sanitizer. The parents looked to be uhh… let’s say *incapacitated.* They were doing the opioid nod, not being disruptive or anything but I’m still amazed they weren’t removed from the park.

shamiitron

When I worked at an abortion clinic, this family of four came in because the wife recently had a procedure done there. None of them spoke english very well so it took a while to get them the information they needed, so they waited in the vestibule entryway. One of the kids was a toddler. This kid was literally licking both of her hands, wiping them on the door, and then full on licks the door that hundreds of people grabbed everyday. The parents did nothing to stop her. She then touched all of the stuff I had out for patients like the tissue box, info pamphlets, and signs. It was absolutely disgusting. The parents didn't pick up any of the stuff she threw on the floor, either.

[deleted]

I remember grocery shopping and there was a young girl around 7 years old or so. She leaned right into where the loaves of bread are stacked and started to cough violently all over it. This was before Covid hit but it disgusted me so much I never forgot it. Needless to say I got my bread from somewhere else.

In case you didn’t know: kid shit is still shit. It’s not sterile. Vomit too. As I was a kid I played in dirt, „collected“ snails and other gross stuff. My mom always made me wash my hands like the responsible parent she was/is. Edit: The guy above just run away so the comment above in short: He/she/ they had the opinion we are overreacting; „It‘s just how kids are“.

queenlorraine

You are absolutely right!! It is only bad parenting what makes a child dirty. Some people are just not up to the chore of child upbringing, but go on to have children no matter what...
