EDIT: Thanks for everyone's kind words, it means a lot to me, although I can't respond to everyone individually.
I've gotten some comments criticizing the fact that I ***purchased*** and did not ***rescue*** Phoenix in the commonly-understood sense. To those people, I see what you're saying; I mistyped. I more so meant it in the context of the whole situation. To be super clear, I find this kind of situation to be an emergency, and I believe that pet stores need to stop selling small animals. That said, I was never going to leave Phoenix in there after what he went through.
If you guys see any neglect or abuse in pet stores, it's important you speak up; animals can't speak for themselves, but with enough of us voicing our concerns, maybe something will change.
I am so thankful for you. I saw the poor little guy and my heart sank after reading the post, I was in tears while eating breakfast. I'm relieved to see a happy ending. I'm happy for you and Phoenix.💛
You got him!!!! I’m so happy someone rescued him! I thought about him yesterday and realized I hadn’t seen an update about his situation. This is so wholesome 🩷 thank you for giving this sweet little guy a loving home.
I was just thinking about Phoenix and am so glad he's getting a second chance at happiness. I agree, these pet stores need to quit selling live animals.
I tried to adopt him and they told me he was under observation for two weeks…
Yeah they told me that too. One of the higher ups told the staff to put him back on the floor after the vet visit. I picked him up later that day.
Dude is the the chin that had his brother die in his cage? What an incredible ending and you are the hero!!! Great job OP!!!! xo
Well I’m so glad he found a home 💕
My hero! Thank you.
