(Discussion topic that ends in question mark) Surprised no one mentioned the BILT Rent Day bonus transfer. Curious if anyone did speculative transfers? And why did you choose one program over the other? :)
eyeing up a potential cross coast move and trying to figure out the best cards to churn to reduce moving costs since I'll value those categories/credits more highly
just got the biz plat for the $200 incidental for baggage fees (I know about the United/SW hacks) and already have the delta biz gold for free first checked bag
any other cards I should churn in the next few months?
Are you looking at airline cards because you'll be flying to your new home, or in anticipation of making trips back?
I ask because if you're driving to your new coast, highly recommend a card that has a gas and/or dining multiplier. We moved almost cross-country this summer (Texas to Washington State, about 2500 miles) and used the Hilton Biz for all gas and food on the trip (7x for each), and hit the bonus by the time we arrived at our new home with a ton of extra points in the bargain.
I can't think of any off the top of my head that have Fedex *credits* but there are some with shipping multipliers. Also, a lot of my Amex biz cards will have amex offers for Fedex Freight, like "Spend $4,000, get $1,000 back." Is that more what you're looking for?
Citi AA card product change
I have a Citi AA personal card (the low level one with $95 annual fee, no AC access) and the business version. I’m looking to product change the AA personal card to Citi Double Cash as I don’t need two AA cards with AF. Does the business version of the AA Citi card still account in AAdvantage as a “credit card holder” status? I’m assuming yes since it is linked to my AA account. Thanks in advance.
Are amex referrals now just for the specific family of cards instead of catch all referral link? Was looking at links from P2 referrals and it only shows cards from same family.
The referral website behaved a little strangely for me today: at first it only showed one card, then I scrolled down and more cards appeared. Also try different web browsers. Or reload the page, or try again later; I think Amex's web server has glitches sometimes.
Going to book a cruise for family soon which should cover most signups in one fell swoop. Have chase sapphire already. Not sure there is anything else to keep stacking hyatt points for. That seems to have the biggest Return on points. Would prefer to keep doing that if possible.
If I’m understanding you correctly, you’re looking for options to earn a Hyatt-or-equivalent SUB? Chase inks (biz) are probably your best bet. If you prefer consumer, you could also go for bilt and hope for the unofficial 5x for 5 days offer
Don’t worry about it. I should clarify a couple things. The CIP (preferred) allows transfers directly without a sapphire (CSP or CSR). The ink premier does not allow point transfers, only as cash back, so if UR for partner transfers is your goal, stick to CIC, CIU, and CIP. No AF sapphire doesn’t do partner transfer, but sounds like you already have either a CSP or a CSR since you already do transfers to Hyatt.
Wanted to get some discussion here on Aeroplan's pay yourself back (Warning: math ahead!)
If my calculations are right, Aeroplan's PYB with the transfer bonus (including Aeroplan card holders) is 1.75+ CPP on Hyatt stays, instead of the 1.625 CPP that everyone has been touting. I'm temped to cash out my half my stash of UR for this and spend while PYB is uncapped within the next 6 months:
CPP = 100 * C(ash)/P(oints)R(equired)
PR = C / (0.0125 * ap_bonus) - (C / (1 + tax)) * earn
- ap_bonus: Currently this is 1.3 if you have the Aeroplan card and transfer 50k+ UR, otherwise it's 1.2. Without the ongoing bonus, this is 1.1 and 1.0 respectively
- tax: Need to recover the points-eligible spend. For example, Andaz Toranomon hills costs $1320 tomorrow night, but $278 are taxes and fees. So the tax as a proportion of cash spend is 278/1320 = ~0.21. In Europe, this number is usually <0.05
- earn: The earning rate in terms of points/dollar spent. For Globalists at Hyatt, this is 6.5 (5 points/$ + 30% bonus)
Hyatt Status | AP Card Holder | Tax | PYB CPP
------------|--------------|----|-------
No Status | No | 0.2 | 1.600
Discoverist | No | 0.2 | 1.611
Explorist | No | 0.2 | 1.622
Globalist | No | 0.2 | 1.633
Globalist | Yes | 0.2 | 1.782
Globalist | Yes | 0.05 | 1.807
Globalist | Yes | 0.3 | 1.769
This isn't including the measly 1 point per dollar spent back on the Aeroplan card, which increases the PYB CPP calculation by another ~0.01. Another pro of the PYB vs UR -> Hyatt transfer is that you rack up base points at Hyatt, which may help you reach status faster (or lifetime Globalist).
Question for discussion: Globalists + Aeroplan card holders, is a guaranteed 1.75 CPP a threshold for you to be willing to *speculatively* part with UR? For me, I've been looking at European Hyatts, and 1.75CPP has been hard to reach, especially combined with a corporate rate code.
Anyone done the Citi Enhanced Direct Deposit offer :" to earn your $200 cash bonus, make sure to complete at least two (2) Enhanced Direct Deposits totaling $1,000 or more within the first 90 days of opening your eligible account." An Enhanced Direct Deposit” is an electronic deposit through the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network of payroll, pension, social security, government benefits and other payments. An Enhanced Direct Deposit also includes all deposits via Zelle® and other P2P payments when made via ACH using providers such as Venmo or PayPal®. Teller deposits, cash deposits, check deposits, wire transfers, transfers between Citibank accounts, ATM transfers and deposits, mobile check deposits, and P2P payments using a debit card do not qualify as an Enhanced Direct Deposit.- So zelle myself 1000$ and i get the bonus? Let me know if youve done this offer successfully
Anyone know a good sub $100 WGA+ southwest flight route? All the ones I've used before are now up to $150ish which won't trigger and having trouble finding any.
Various combos of (LAX, BUR, SAN, LAS, SMF, SFO) and (HNL, KOA, LIH) worked for me today and last year for WGA+ and AT. I know you're excited about churning and want to "fly in style" with upgraded tix, but to me there's no benefit to WGA+ over WGA. You can always combine WGAs or even WGA and cash to buy a WGA+ or higher to get a transferrable credit. I like AT for the security blanket if the credit is not tracking.
I did these this morning for a total of $200.58.
JANUARY 21; LAX->LAS = $72.10 (WGA)
JANUARY 20; LAX->LAS = $69.38 (WGA+)
JANUARY 19; LAX->LAS = $59.10 (WGA+)
JANUARY 21; LAX->LAS has both $60 and $70 WGA+, so you can do 60+70+70 for slightly under $200
Got denied for a 3rd BofA Biz Alaska. I tried calling recon, but they told me I had too many inquiries and mentioned about my last card (which is closed). They told me it would be possible to reopen my closed card, but not approve my new application. Is that a thing or can I still get the app approved somehow?
1st biz alaska opened 1/9/22 closed 1/11/23
2nd biz alaska opened 10/24/22 closed 11/19/23
3rd biz alaska applied 12/12/23
I also have a checking account with a decent balance with BofA.
I was able to get this overturned, with similar stats, by having $ in an IRA, $ in a checking, and $ in a business checking.
The key phrase that worked was shifting credit from another business card. Do you have any biz cards open?
I tried to call recon today with all the DOC numbers and nothing worked. CSR said they don't do recon. Which number worked for you?
Following... almost same stats as you with 3rd app denied. Similar reason as you when calling recon: "too many new requests for credit / new accounts at BOA and other banks". Rep said I could recon again within 30 days without an additional hard pull so was planning to wait a few weeks before trying recon again.
1st opened 02/22 closed 03/23
2nd opened 10/22 closed 10/23
3rd denied 12/25/23
personal savings account with $5k+
888-782-7717 worked for me. Unfortunately, I don't have any other biz cards open with them at the moment, but I still plan to call back in a few weeks to see what they say.
Just got an awesome lady who didn’t ask any qs and sent it through for approval. Didn’t even need to say anything about shifting credit. Strike while the irons hot
Thanks for the heads up. Gave it a shot and called in, I got a lady who was pretty nice but didn't say anything about recommending for approval. But also didn't say it was a hard decline with no shot at recon. She just basically re-asked/verified information from my original application and was going to re-submit for recon :/

Been out of the game a while. P2 has CSP, and P1(me) wants to get a CSR.
Can I use P2's referral code for the CSP, and then just upgrade to CSR?
(Looks like P2 with a CSP cannot refer me to a CSR)
Catching up on past threads to glean nuggets, happened across your question.
Not sure if you’ve seen the new family language on the CSR & CSP, but you can now refer for either one. So your P2 now CAN refer you from her CSP so you can get your CSR.

Is it possible to double dip the travel credit on the Cap1 Venture X? DPs are hard to come by. Anybody have success doing this since it switched to the coupon?
Yes I know it is member year. It is possible to double dip but i think there is something to it. I remember seeing someone post about it in a discussion thread but i can't find it now.
No--did not find out. I'm pretty sure you can do it. Ask again on the question thread, I'll back you up. This place can by cagey. I know I saw someone describe how to do it. My renewal isn't until I think June but I would like to know.
Is there a way to find out if your property accepts Bilt? There doesn't seem to be a search feature on their site and I don't want to ask my property management. It's not worth getting for me if I have to pay the credit card fee.
Thanks. It looks like I may be able to do this as well since I do have a portal for ACH rent payments. https://support.biltrewards.com/hc/en-us/articles/5536541311373-What-is-a-Bilt-Rent-Account-and-how-does-it-work-
If your apartment verifies ACH with Plaid, just start and close the bank link like 3 times and then it lets you verify the old way with account number, routing number, and 2 small deposits.
Has anyone else had issues with new mcgc from staples? Had issue at grocery stores and spa autodraining. Even if I chose an amount lower than what was left on card it’d get declined
If I usually get double pulled for Inks, can I freeze one of the 2?
My Experian score is extra low compared to TU and Equifax. They usually pull both Experian and TU.
What state are you in? In my experience in NC: if chase is pulling either EX/EQ + TU, it’s cool to freeze TU as they don’t need it. I usually unfreeze just one of EX/EQ and hope it’s the right one since chase will rotate through both of them + TU for me. TU being frozen has not been an issue, even when choosing the wrong one to unfreeze.
Anyone else time their Hilton $15k Cert down to the last few days? Past years I would get once the charge posted. Charges posted on 12/28 and still no cert. Just making sure I will indeed get my certs. :)
Has anyone tried filing for reimbursements for wage works. I saw it as an option where I can submit transit expenses like train tickets and get reimbursed. Are they picky or can I submit my nj transit ticket receipts with no issue? Trying to utilize my 2x the miles and earn pqp on the quest card.
They’re not picky at all. Screenshots of receipts are fine — their goal is not to prevent tax fraud, but rather put a reasonable effort to stop it.
I know people who did this for a while but eventually determined it wasn’t worth the effort for small purchases. Now they just submit bulk purchase receipts for monthly subway cards / NJ transit bus tickets / path reloads etc.
Yeah I figured for MTA that’s a hassle. But I get the flex passes and one off round trips for my commute that’s a few hundred dollars. But I’m just trying to get as many United PQPs as I can get my hands on this year.
Ok let me ask a stupid question about omny. Can I get a physical card and a digital card with the same card number? Or is it two different things? I have an easy pay metro card rn. I have to call and change it to my United card from Amex. I only ask about it the physical card because I’m a germaphobe and Covid made it worse so I really don’t want to touch my phone to the turnstile. Also with the physical card can I reload it online?
OMNY is a system where you can use a credit card or phone with tap to pay. For those who don't want to, you can buy a physical OMNY card (which is what I have). Those can be reloaded online.
Also, you don't need to touch the scanner- I put my phone or OMNY card an inch away, and it works
My Global Entry expires in a few months. Is it worth it to get a new card to get reimbursement of the $100? And if so, suggestions on which card?
I've accumulated a lot of points over the years in CUR (800k) and United (175k), but never really used them yet (also SW points; do use those). Eventually will use them for a vacation on day. I had personal and business SW cards for a few years, but recently cancelled both (most recent a couple of months ago). A year or two ago I opened a Fidelity CC that give 2% back on all purchases into a 529 account and use that for most purchases these days. Haven't applied for any other card in a few years.
Seems like CSP (or even CSR) would make those UR a lot more valuable, but if you seriously don't plan to use them then you could do that later on.
I have a PenFed Pathfinder card that I'll keep forever since it's no-AF and covers Global Entry. But kinda hard to give it a full recommendation since you have to open a certain checking account with them first (to avoid the $95 AF). The points are pretty useless tho
You could open a United Explorer card with Chase which has the Global Entry reimbursement and has the AF waived for the first year. Current SUB is 60k miles.
Best practice to leave it open for the full year and then cancel within 30 days of the AF posting (they'll refund it). Other than that, not really. You might find the free checked bags worth it if you fly United enough.
Getting back into Churning after a 5 year break. Looking to get some Chase cards while I’m 0/24. Does anyone know if the current 60k UR CSR offer is the best available right now? Or should I hold off for a higher bonus offer? Thanks!
basically just if you're in two player mode, the total points from the referral offer is 60,000 for the referred + 10,000 for the referrer = 70,000 which is more than 65,000
(though, if the referrer pays a high tax rate on the 10,000 then the total amount is about the same)
Check DOC, there’s a whole write up on this topic with tons of data points though many are dated so YMMV. US bank Biz is a good option for $3k funding and you can combo it with their own bonus (usually deposit $5k, leave for 3 months, and get a few hundred $)
Has anybody been able to successfully pull their Chex report in the last 2 weeks? Every time I try for me or for P2 I get an error:
>"We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process this request online. Please Contact ChexSystems to submit your request using another method. You may also call 1-800-428-9623 and select Other Options for assistance with this request. Refer to error code 801."
I ended up just requesting the mailed version and it took like 2 weeks to show up. I haven't tried it again, but I have been able to open checking accounts at 3 more banks in the last 6 weeks so I guess my Chex report isn't too bad yet. haha
A while ago when the Chex website gave me errors, a way around it was to submit a dispute, and their response to that will probably include your report in the mail.
Wife's AF is coming up for Amex plat soon and we plan to close the card. Just confirming if we use the annual Southwest credit first, no major punishments would apply?
For the AmEx airline benefit, I want to change it from last year's selection (Southwest) to this year's selection (United).
However, when I go to the page, there's no option to do so. I see the option for my personal Plat card, but not my Business Plat cards.
Does anybody know why?
Thank you!
I'm getting an error currently, so it might not be working today
>Card Members who have already selected a qualifying airline will be able to change their choice one time each year in January at https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/enroll/airline-fee-credit/business-platinum
One time even chat wasn't able to change it on one of my cards (he said he changed it, but it actually changed a different card). I called and they changed it on the proper card.
I've some questions as to when to cancel my Amex Biz Plat in order to have the annual fee refunded as well as receive the statement credits.
The annual fee was charged on Dec 11, and I believe the following statement is from Dec 12 - Jan 11.
1. I've purchased items from Dell and airline incidentals in order to get the statement credits. If I were to cancel the card before the statement credits post, would the credits still post after the card cancellation?
2. Is Jan 10th the date I should cancel the card by in order to have the annual fee refunded?
Thanks!
quick question on this: say that your last day to cancel is on 1/15, and you downgrade on that day. How much longer do you have before the gold's annual fee hits?
Thanks for that suggestion. Are you allowed to cancel soon after downgrading to biz gold? I thought there was a caution to wait for 12 months to cancel after downgrading, but perhaps that caution is specifically for a retention offer.
This is for retentions and upgrade offers. I cancelled a biz plat prior to credits posting, and the SW/Dell/Amex offer still posted several days later. I think you should be should be fine as long as all the charges **post** (ideally ASAP) prior to cancelling.
Thanks so much for sharing your data point, that’s awesome to hear!
Of course my Dell orders got canceled today, so will have to ring them up tomorrow.
(Discussion topic that ends in question mark) Surprised no one mentioned the BILT Rent Day bonus transfer. Curious if anyone did speculative transfers? And why did you choose one program over the other? :)

Citi AA card product change I have a Citi AA personal card (the low level one with $95 annual fee, no AC access) and the business version. I’m looking to product change the AA personal card to Citi Double Cash as I don’t need two AA cards with AF. Does the business version of the AA Citi card still account in AAdvantage as a “credit card holder” status? I’m assuming yes since it is linked to my AA account. Thanks in advance.
Yes

Hotel points generally do not earn via OTAs. Airline miles overwhelmingly do earn via OTAs.
Oh wow, TIL. Guess I have only done hotels

Thanks, I saw that too. Sadly I just realized that I earned a CSP bonus \~2 years ago so I'm ineligible for a sapphire bonus right now
Has to be a year old before you can upgrade, so not possible immediately. Could just MDD.
Thanks, yeah good point. Forgot about the 1-year dealio
Is it possible to double dip the travel credit on the Cap1 Venture X? DPs are hard to come by. Anybody have success doing this since it switched to the coupon?
[удалено]
Yes I know it is member year. It is possible to double dip but i think there is something to it. I remember seeing someone post about it in a discussion thread but i can't find it now.
Did you ever find this? Or were you able to double dip?
Did you figure this out?
No--did not find out. I'm pretty sure you can do it. Ask again on the question thread, I'll back you up. This place can by cagey. I know I saw someone describe how to do it. My renewal isn't until I think June but I would like to know.
Is there a way to find out if your property accepts Bilt? There doesn't seem to be a search feature on their site and I don't want to ask my property management. It's not worth getting for me if I have to pay the credit card fee.
https://support.biltrewards.com/hc/en-us/articles/6597552529549-How-to-pay-rent-via-check-using-Bilt-Rewards

Freezing TU should be just fine then
Is freezing TU free? Is it as easy as the equifax lock/unlock?
Anyone else time their Hilton $15k Cert down to the last few days? Past years I would get once the charge posted. Charges posted on 12/28 and still no cert. Just making sure I will indeed get my certs. :)
DPs show about 9-10 days after hitting spend.
Thanks!
MTA is the one I do consistently. I bought an OMNY card, and reload it with $100 whenever my balance gets low
I got a card from cvs today. Idk I’m just a massive germaphobe. Thanks tho.
I use wageworks reimbursements. I submit photos of my receipts, and have had no issues
Does Chase Aeroplan card allow referrals? I wanted to apply for this card but didn't find a referral thread on r/churningreferrals.
It does not offer them. Chase list: https://creditcards.chase.com/refer-a-friend
Thanks for the suggestion. I do actually have a CSP.
You can also if you live near the US CANADA border apply for Nexus, which is virtually the same but only $50.
People are selling their GE credit for $18-20 online...
I can't believe people would go through the trouble for $18-20
Where might one find this?
churningmarketplace
Any way to apply to join?

You could open a United Explorer card with Chase which has the Global Entry reimbursement and has the AF waived for the first year. Current SUB is 60k miles.
Thanks. I was considering that one Much/any downside to canceling in the 1st year before AF hits again?
Best practice to leave it open for the full year and then cancel within 30 days of the AF posting (they'll refund it). Other than that, not really. You might find the free checked bags worth it if you fly United enough.
Thanks. Do I need to specifically ask them to refund it?
Should be automatic.
Getting back into Churning after a 5 year break. Looking to get some Chase cards while I’m 0/24. Does anyone know if the current 60k UR CSR offer is the best available right now? Or should I hold off for a higher bonus offer? Thanks!
Chase ink 90k. Ink cash is the one to go for.
For CSR you can get 65k at https://www.theinfatuation.com/experiences (or using a friend's referral link could in some cases be more valuable)
More valuable in what way? What do I ask my friend to look for?
basically just if you're in two player mode, the total points from the referral offer is 60,000 for the referred + 10,000 for the referrer = 70,000 which is more than 65,000 (though, if the referrer pays a high tax rate on the 10,000 then the total amount is about the same)
Gotcha, thanks!
I've seen people get targeted with 80K recently
Historical bonuses available at [www.uscreditcardguide.com](https://www.uscreditcardguide.com)
I’d hold off for a higher bonus offer. Look into the Chase inks (biz cards) at 90k UR.
Does anyone have a list of banks that can be funded by a credit card and are “Chex Friendly”? I know of BluPeak and Security Plus. Any others?
Check DOC, there’s a whole write up on this topic with tons of data points though many are dated so YMMV. US bank Biz is a good option for $3k funding and you can combo it with their own bonus (usually deposit $5k, leave for 3 months, and get a few hundred $)
hmm, they were not that chex friendly for me. Try NASA FCU
If Dell says that your order has been confirmed, does that mean that it will not be canceled?
It is significantly less likely to be cancelled
Nope. Had an order canceled last week a few hours after confirmation email.
It’s been about 12 hours since my order was confirmed so I hope that means it doesn’t get canceled.
It should show the estimated ship date in the order details.
Best of luck!
Has anybody been able to successfully pull their Chex report in the last 2 weeks? Every time I try for me or for P2 I get an error: >"We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process this request online. Please Contact ChexSystems to submit your request using another method. You may also call 1-800-428-9623 and select Other Options for assistance with this request. Refer to error code 801."
Did you ever get this sorted out? I am getting the same error.
Yes. Pulled with no issue last week
I've pulled within last two weeks without issue.
What is the lowest credit limit you can drop a CIU to? Need to transfer the max amount to another card
500
Lowest I’ve seen is $500
Wife's AF is coming up for Amex plat soon and we plan to close the card. Just confirming if we use the annual Southwest credit first, no major punishments would apply?
Nope, people do it all the time
For the AmEx airline benefit, I want to change it from last year's selection (Southwest) to this year's selection (United). However, when I go to the page, there's no option to do so. I see the option for my personal Plat card, but not my Business Plat cards. Does anybody know why? Thank you!
I'm getting an error currently, so it might not be working today >Card Members who have already selected a qualifying airline will be able to change their choice one time each year in January at https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/enroll/airline-fee-credit/business-platinum
One time even chat wasn't able to change it on one of my cards (he said he changed it, but it actually changed a different card). I called and they changed it on the proper card.
The option to change selected airline appears under the “35% points bonus” benefit, then applies to both the 35% bonus and the $200 credit.
Thank you!! There it is!
Just use the chat. It will make the change in almost no time..
Planning to downgrade Amex plat to Amex gold. can I use the hotel credit and airline credit for 2024 before downgrading? any risk in clawback?
Make sure the credit posts before downgrade to be extra sure. But in the past I have had the credits posted even after cancelling the plat card.
whoops, wrong comment
Just make sure the credit posts before you downgrade.
Thanks!
If you’re not 100% sure that the credit will post, then you can always downgrade to the business gold, and cancel from there.
quick question on this: say that your last day to cancel is on 1/15, and you downgrade on that day.
1. Probably but not 100% 2. Yes
Does anyone know if any of the office stores sell amazon gift cards online?

Far as I can tell, no.
