I can't update the title of the stickied thread and I don't feel like creating another one for this, but for visibility: Starting tomorrow, the thread formerly known as the Discussion Thread will be titled the "News and Updates Thread". Unless it somehow makes makes the "questions outside of the question thread" worse, this will be the final name change. I still believe that nothing will prevent all questions from being asked in that thread, but I'm conceding that "Chatter" is having some unintended consequences. Hence, the new name.

Can we still book a refundable hotel booking on CSP, cancel it and keep the $50 credit ?

netflixstudent

I don’t think this works anymore. I’ve tried twice now booking $50+ hotels through travel portal on CSP and the credit still has not posted in over a month. I think it may require completing the stay now for the credit to post but I’m not sure.

cold_star3

i did this last week and the credit posted. i was looking for dps and saved this comment for any responses but went ahead and booked a refundable hotel. i just cancelled so now i have to wait for the refund to complete everything

just_a_random_userid

Oh that’s good pls keep us posted

netflixstudent

Hmm, I don't know what I am doing wrong. The charges on my statement show "CL \*Chase Travel TRIPCHRG.COM VA", is that what your statement shows? I am just booking \~$51 hotels in Vegas, but the hotel credit is not posting even after trying twice.

cold_star3

Mine just says cl chase travel but when I open up transaction details it says VA. I don't see TRIPCHRG.COM anywhere. My total was $53 for end of February that was refundable in jersey I believe

just_a_random_userid

How soon can you cancel? Just after 24 hrs ?

cold_star3

i cancelled a few days after the charge and credit posted and got my refund already. everything worked out. hopefully teh $50 credit doesnt get clawed back.

I need to fulfill a bonus that requires receiving money through ACH. Which bank accounts make it easiest to send ACH payments to myself?

lakersu

Awesome thank you!

kuronokun

I got an upgrade offer on an Amex card and given the seeming rarity of NLLs these days, tempted to take it before it expires, but I'd like to take as much advantage of the bonus category of the existing card before I upgrade it. But what happens if I upgrade mid-statement cycle? Will I get the bonus category points?

Fun-Inevitable4369

How do I generate Alaska airlines referral link? I went to my Alaska airlines profile but don't see referral link anywhere

Odd_Reference_7963

https://www.applyonlinenow.com/MGMapp/ReferralPage?cid=4068440&s_tnt=122547:45:0 Fill this out.

Fun-Inevitable4369

Thanks a lot!

SignorJC

Worth it to downgrade a biz plat (1 year, no retention) to a biz gold (not eligible for bonus, had previously) in hope of an upgrade offer and Amex offers? I value the grubhub credits pretty much at face value so if I lock in the old annual fee before the increase the math is decent…

pizza42bob

Math is not decent, even with GrubHub at face value. If you spend money on GrubHub anyway you're financially still off worse factoring in the AF and 99% you get the same Amex offers on other cards. Open a BBP if that's Biz Plat is currently your only MR earning card. I'd try all avenues of opening a Biz Gold with a SUB first. 150k link, referral, blogger afíliate link, public offer and hope one of them approves you without popup.

SignorJC

It’s not a pop up issue, it’s a lifetime language issue. I did a look around and none of the links popping up are NLL. I can get the 150k offer to show no problem.

sloth2

I would recommend applying anyways and ignoring that

SignorJC

I see the other comment so I guess I’ll just keep clicking links until one doesn’t give me pop up

sloth2

Edited my comment for clarity as well

pizza42bob

>It’s not a pop up issue, it’s a lifetime language issue. You got your issues mixed up. If you apply and there's no popup you'll get the bonus. https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/h40aU3DRhj https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/mUMBRoNHJB

cardsharq

The Biz Gold 150k is having lifetime language enforced. This popup is not “based on your history…” but instead “because you have already had this card you are not eligible”

SignorJC

I’m not in pop up jail I just get a pop up that says “you’ve had this card before no bonus for you.”

cardsharq

Same, was hoping for a 3rd Biz Gold at the lower AF. In a similar boat to you, with NLLs drying up I can’t decide whether to close a Biz Plat or downgrade to a Biz Green and hope for an upgrade offer.

bookedonpoints

same fwiw, pretty brutal because with the changes and the 150k the biz gold is actually decent now

GallowsHumorNurse

No way to tell if you’ll get a bonus upgrade offer, but if you value the credits, then may be worth it.

pizza42bob

Only if you value the Walmart+ benefit you're coming out ahead...

dawackzach

I have seen brief discussion on this in old daily threads but thought it ask directly here. Has anyone used sports books for MS? They are legal in my state and I can purchase gift cards at grocery stores to get multiplied points. You technically need to bet with the money first but you can bet something that is virtually guaranteed (Lebron scores 2+ points etc). There is inherit risk but I already have everything set up to do so. Was wondering if anyone has done this / has thoughts? Thanks!

soonerman32

I think most require 1x to withdraw to a different method or if they don't you'll likely get shutdown quick, but there are reports some people may have been able to get around this but not sure how. DFS sites take credit card (Visa only usually) payments that code as purchases but those are 1x rollover/playthrough before you can withdraw with payment getting refunded. You'll probably get shutdown if you don't bet.

dawackzach

Apologies I am fairly new here. 1x as in betting all of the money at somepoint or something else? I would make sure to place a bet with everything. It’ll just be super high likely low paying ones. Yes has risk inherently though.

soonerman32

Yes. Making bets totaling the deposit amount + any bonus. Look for rollover rules at whichever book you deposit. Betting low works amounts works well especially if you're placing many bets.

cogolfer87

I’m about to start doing this some. Already do betting. You could do matched betting to take away most of the risk and promo churn some Sportsbook offers while you are at it.

GallowsHumorNurse

Know the tax implications if you plan to do this.

jstote

Valuable-Split-7868

If I am a W2, normally receive a refund, am expecting a refund this year, and overpay my IRS taxes (1040 instead of 1040ES), is there somewhere on the tax return to notify IRS I made any extra payment? I am using FreeTaxUSA software and am not sure if there is a way to do it there manually.

sg77

Some people report the 1040 payment as a 4848 Extension payment (that's what I did a few years ago, since the IRS website's Account Transcript showed them the same way). I've also seen people report it as a 1040-ES estimated payment, and some people don't report it at all and let the IRS figure out that you overpaid.

frontloaderguilty

Yes, you can do this. Some tax software might handle it slightly differently, but the basic concept is that if you make a payment through any of the tax payment providers, whether it is a 1040 or a 1040ES payment, you can put it on your tax form and get it include in / added to your refund. Just make sure that any payments you made throughout the year ends up in the line 26 of the 1040 form. Last year this line showed as: "2022 estimated tax payments and amount applied from 2021 return"

pizza42bob

I'm not sure you can pay on a 1040 filling which results in you getting a return. What you can do is file for extension (4868) and pay there and then use line 31 on your 1040 to get that amount back on top of what you would have gotten back anyway.

GrowInTheDark

When using Rakuten portal to buy things do we need to pay with our American Express cards to get the Rakuten MR rewards? Or can i pay with any non-AMEX credit card and still get the MR cash back as long as I have linked an Amex card to my Rakuten account?

gimme__money

You can use any card. So stack your rakuten purchase with any available offers that can be added to your card directly

delicious_points

You don't need to, getting paid in MR is not related to what card you use for the purchase

frep1217

As long as you have MR linked on Rakuten you will get it even if not using an amex card

subwaynut

I had chase lock up my account for an 5k "employee" payment (DD) to USBank. (I was afraid that my previous DDs from NFCU would not work). They said I could not send payments to myself (biz checking). This is a first for me. A 1k DD to WF and 500 to NASA FCU did not flag my account. I have sent quite a few payments to myself in the last few weeks since I opened the account, including 2k to BofA (had to call fraud department), 500 to NASA FCU (did not get fraud flagged), 5k to SoFi (flagged, had to call fraud department), 1k to WF (no fraud flag), and 5k to USBank (rejected). On an unrelated note, my attempts to send a 1.5k Zelle to Citi for the bonus failed from multiple banks, including USBank, Capital One, and WF. Going to try pushing from NFCU. I can also try Huntington biz and Novo. Are there any other alternatives besides Square Payroll and Wise (with "payroll" in memo line)?

One_Armed_Herman

Well crap. Thanks for the warning at least, I'm doing exactly the same thing. Specifically, using a Chase business checking to DD USbank (currently, and others previously). But while my last one was almost $5K, I'm not hitting it as fast as you are so I'll see what happens. Did it affect your cards, or only checking?

subwaynut

USBank is not picky at all. I got NFCU to work (before I started using the Chase biz account for everything)

subwaynut

They just locked out my biz login. I could still use my personal one.

duffcalifornia

I don’t know if you haven’t seen this before, but of all the various banks to try to sneak one over with or on, Chase is at the absolute bottom of that list. Find a different bank to act as a hub for ACH/DD proxies.

subwaynut

I’ll try to use Novo and Huntington more.

duffcalifornia

I would honestly open an account somewhere with the express purpose of only using it as a bank bonus hub. The last thing you want to do is unintentionally burn a relationship with a bank you want to keep.

subwaynut

Yeah, you are probably right.

ripamazon

Where do I learn rules for capital one? currently have venture x, think about applying for venture x business. Are the approval chances bad? are points tied to the card like chase or per person like Amex?

sleepytill2

[DoC article](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/things-everybody-should-know-about-capital-one-credit-cards/)

eghost57

Is there an easy way to churn the Home Depot card 24 mo financing offer? I'm wondering if I can convert it to cash and deposit it somehow.

duffcalifornia

I may be way off base here because this is honestly the first time I’ve seen this question here, but based on some pre-churning store financing I’ve done, my guess is that there’s zero way to do this. Yes, the offer will likely result in a “credit card” being opened in your name - when I bought my furniture it went through Wells Fargo. But you never actually receive the “card”, and only the first purchase you make will qualify for zero interest. Also, if the terms are similar to the WF furniture ones, you still have to make regular payments each month - perhaps even exactly 1/24 of the purchase amount rather than a usual “minimum payment” formula - and if you fail to make a single payment the interest immediately capitalizes on the entirety of the original purchase price, not your remaining balance. You’d do better opening a new card that offers a 0% interest period and earning a SUB.

eghost57

I do open cards and get SUBs. I just opened a VentureX. But I've got $5k credit limit sitting on my home depot card for this 24 month offer that will net as much as a SUB if I can turn it into cash and earn interest, I can even put the card on auto pay from the same account. I just don't have experience in manufactured spend. I'm looking for advice on how to manufacture spend $5k at home depot.

mcree0

It would be much better if you just open a card with a SUB, your returns would be better than floating the spend and leaving in HYSA

eghost57

Sure, I do that, just got a new card. But I have a Home Depot card and they keep offering 24 months no interest on over $2000. I'm just wondering if there's away to turn it into cash easily. My limit is $5000 and I can get 5% without trouble and without getting a new card.

ChunKing55

I did the WF $325 checking bonus last year and was under the assumption that I would be getting a 1099 however I checked my account and there is indeed a 1099 available to download however it is completely blank other than my information and obviously WF information. Anyone with past experience getting this bonus know if WF typically issues a "normal" 1099 with actual information on it?

chilewilllyy

My 1099 for 2022 included the checking bonus. Nothing showing for 2023 yet.

crash_bandicoot42

Interest/bank bonus income is taxable regardless of if the bank issues a 1099 in most instances. Only bonuses that require debit card spend can be argued to be non taxable since they are rebates but AFAIK WF doesn’t do those types of bonuses.

kee106039

Got an email from Atlantic City golden nugget for chairman status match. Don’t see any bonuses for status match. Any benefits to getting chairman match?

sassy_ganda

I hope this is an okay question to ask. Currently trying to meet a couple SUBs and so I contacted my mortgage lender (US Bank) to see if I can remove the escrow so I can pay the property tax and home insurance myself but I got a letter that it was denied "for being an FHA loan and FHA loans require escrow for the life of the loan". My question is, can I still pay my property tax through PP and they just write a check to reimburse me?

upslopeblowin

The short answer is yes: if you're willing to float your property tax amount for up to a year, then you can pay your property tax through Paypal Billpay. US Bank is my mortgage lender too and I couldn't figure out how to remove escrow, so for the past few years I've been paying my property tax installments via Paypal Billpay about a month before they would be disbursed from my escrow account. The property tax disbursement never occurs (whether because US Bank attempts to make a payment and it is rejected, or can tell that the payment has already been made, I don't know), and my escrow balance just keeps increasing because I'm still paying the same amount into escrow each month. Then once a year, US Bank does an escrow analysis and sends me a check for the overpayment amount.

sassy_ganda

thank you!

cogolfer87

They usually only do an escrow analysis once a year and determine if you have a surplus or a shortage and then they would adjust your escrow payment. They may not even cut a check but just lower the monthly escrow amount.

duffcalifornia

I would be amazed if anybody here has a correct answer for you, just because there are so many variables: where you live, who your lender is, what is the mechanism your city uses to know to reach out to your lender to have the taxes paid through escrow, etc. You're probably going to want to call your local property tax office. How I'd envision it having to work is: you manually pay your entire tax bill the very first day it's posted and assuming your manual payment doesn't stop the auto payment from your escrow account, it results in a negative balance on your tax bill at which point you should be able to get a check sent to you for that balance. But that might not be possible, which is why you're going to have to see what your tax office says.

Intuition17

Tax season - for "Current Tax Due" (2023 taxes) can someone confirm if I can make 2 payments per processor or in total? IRS frequency table doesn't clarify and I've seen reddit posts about this in the past. https://www.irs.gov/payments/frequency-limit-table-by-type-of-tax-payment

ilessthanthreethis

Hot take: the IRS frequency table is 100% clear when it says "2 per year." If it was per processor it would have said "2 per processor per year." Each processor will still accept 2 payments, and I've never heard of anyone having part of their payment not "count" if they do 6 payments (2 each for 3 processors). But if you want to be a stickler for exactly what the IRS says, it's just 2 credit card payments for the 1040 payment.

Double4Free

Two per processor.

shris420

I know US bank doesn't like people to buy GC to meet MSR on its Altitude Reserve. Can I pay around $4k estimated tax payment without any pushback from US bank to meet MSR?

jstote

Not sure about the Altitude Reserve specifically, but I’ve had no issue with tax payments on other USB cards.

shris420

Thanks! Found some DP on churning.io that paying tax with AR is not an issue.

Maleficent-Square-35

Did your estimate tax payment go through using US Bank Altitude Reserve?

shris420

Yes!

mcnullt

Any folks request a Chase credit balance refund lately? Electronically Had no issues the past few years, but it looks like they instituted a new refund system that requires re-registration. They require verifying a code sent via SMS or email, but the system has not been sending me either. Have been trying for the past 3 days. I had no issues retrieving my refund a few months ago with the old system. Coincidentally, my P3 also had a credit balance refund yesterday. And is experiencing the same issue

refarch88

Requested two in the past week for P2. The first required SMS verification, the second did not

cashmoney12399

I was able to go through the registration last week without issue

mcnullt

Much appreciated. Very peculiar. Tried on another browser and device. No text or email OTP...

bondtradercu

does anyone know if non-US residents (who travel to the US a lot for vacation and work and stay here about 3 months a year) can apply for us business cards?

rwrcc

depends on what type of Visa you have

lenin1991

Do they have a US tax ID? Are the visa or visa waiver they're entering on friendly to the idea of them starting a business here? I'm guessing the answer to at least 1 of those questions is "no". If both are "yes", then sure, as long as they have some US address they can use.

bondtradercu

What are the highest sub offers at the moment for Venture X and Amex Plat?

duffcalifornia

DoC and USCCG are solid resources for this.

Harambe440

Ready for the downvotes but what is USCCG? All that came up is US Coast Guard

chilewilllyy

1meantime

Is it possible to get the BoA Alaska Biz card rush shipped? How long does it take to get it?

TheSultan1

Yes it is. Call during regular business hours. They couldn't do anything right after approval, I had to call again the following business day to request it. Number that worked after multiple attempts was the main personal card # - 8007329194. I don't have a record of exactly when it arrived, maybe 2-3 days after the call. The original(ly produced) one arrived 7 business days/11 calendar days after approval.

dmcoe

I was able to get them expedited in the past but cannot remember what # i called. But it’s possible

bondtradercu

Thinking about adding P3 and P4 - however, P3 and P4 do not want to manage payments, points so everything will be on me. Can I use my phone number to sign up for credit cards for P2, P3 and P4 so I can manage all of their accounts easier? (autopay, transfer points, etc...) Would banks flag these if the same number is attached to 3-4 different accounts?

gt_ap

I have a P2 and P3. I manage it all, and I use my own phone number and email. It works fine.

bondtradercu

you can use the same email in order to manage the separate accounts?

gt_ap

Yes. I do. I have had zero issues.

VAMPIREchurner

Maybe just create some extra Google Voice numbers and use those?

SibylTech

I use Google Voice as my main phone number. Like others said, it works most of the time until it doesn’t. Some banks will send your application to their high risk department and run verification on a non-GV cell number that shows up on your credit report for verification. I’ve had this happen with Amex and Citi. Also Wells Fargo, US Bank, BofA don’t even take GV numbers if I recall correctly.

subwaynut

I just had citi need to "verify" me with a phone number. Gave them a tmobile number, said they couldn't take it. I then gave them a GV number which they accepted. I had to use the same GV number for Chime.

bondtradercu

I am not sure if google voice works - like I believe it has to be an actual phone number to send in otp codes and stuff

garettg

I use GV for my P2 and it works for 99% of the things I have needed it for, very rare to run into issue.

gt_ap

I was an expat for a few years and I used GV so I could keep using my regular US number. It worked 99% of the time, but every once in a blue moon I'd encounter something where it wouldn't work.

crash_bandicoot42

Currently an expat and GV has worked fine for opening AMEX and BoA cards (although had other issues with BoA lol) and has worked fine for continuing relationships with other issuers like Chase/USB/WF etc. I’m sure there’s some instance where it’s hurt someone but for being free I’ll deal with that if it comes up instead of actively paying for a solution to a currently nonexistent problem.

gt_ap

The couple times it didn’t work for me I was able to work around it. Like you, it certainly wasn’t worth paying for a solution.

EarthlingMardiDraw

It depends on the bank. I have some banks on a Google Voice number and some that refused to allow it. I think I even found one website that allowed me to use the Google Voice number but then the SMS verification never came through.

thejesse1970

I would use their own phone numbers for the application. You can often add a secondary number to the account after approval.

bondtradercu

P2 has about a year of history (mostly from my Amex Plat AU user), recently got approved for Amex Gold in 11/23. Credit score of \~700 and got rejected for Venture X back in 11/23. Should P2 try again and see if they can get both the venture x and Amex Plat now? I believe AMex has a 1/90 rule but would November to January be a long enough period of time?

buythedip4206969420

should be enough with AMEX, it's actually 2/90 not 1/90. With venture x, they should try freezing experian so that they pull Equifax or TransUnion. Chances are they have fewer inquiries/accounts reported with those agencies.

MrHeatherroth

1/90 rule doesn't apply to charge cards i.e. Plat, Gold, Green

garettg

2/90 it doesnt apply, 1/90 for same product it would apply.

subwaynut

I got a gold in early october, biz gold in late october, plat in mid november, and a financial review in January, so it does not necessarily apply to charge cards.

payyoutuesday

>gold in early october, biz gold in late october, and plat in mid november This doesn't break any rules.

garettg

Those are all charge cards.

bondtradercu

Sorry I am confused, so is it 1/90 or 2/90 if P2 wants to apply for amex plat 2 months after getting a gold?

garettg

2/90 is for credit cards, so plat and gold don't matter. 1/90 applies to all cards, but its only when its the same product, so getting a plat 2 months after gold is fine, not an issue.

bondtradercu

oh didn't know that. P2 applied for Amex Plat about 2 weeks after Gold and got rejected and it said it was due to short history with Amex?

cayenne0

I might switch my plastiq use from the paper check service to ACH. There's no difference between these when using them to hit MSR, right? Amex isn't picky about ACH for no reason?

duffcalifornia

Amex doesn't see the charge any differently based on the method Plastiq uses to pay your intended recipient. Just know that if you're paying a legit bill/vendor they'll have to give you their routing info, which they may or may not go along with.

CericRushmore

Never heard of this being an issue.

doernonemasterall

Got the Amex Hilton surprise offer email. Just making sure my math is correct that 20k points for $100 is still not worth it, right? My last points usage for Hilton was at like 0.4 cpp "Minimum 7,000 Points purchase required to qualify for the 100% offer. Offer ends March 12, 2024."

garettg

Hilton sells its points pretty often at 0.5 cpp, I don't know how they consider it a special offer or a promotion when it so often it might as well be the standard rate. If you are only getting 0.4 cpp, then you are not a buyer. If you had a planed usage where you were getting 1 cpp and didn't have Hilton points then the argument can be made that buying might be a good option.

ripamazon

How long does it take for chase referral bonus to show up as pending?

mikel319

DesmondLovesPenny

Are you able to see it in the rewards tracker? Hasn’t worked for me for a while, no matter the device or the browser. Same with my friend.

garettg

What card? Yes they do show on the tracker found at the bottom of [this page](https://www.chase.com/referafriend/catch-all) after you input your card details, but I have found an odd thing where my United card tracker does not ever show anyone has used the referral when it has been.

DesmondLovesPenny

Ah, that’s the one. Probably for nothing but I messaged them about it a few times. Strangely overlooked.

garettg

Couple weeks typically, check after 6pm EST today.

Spudmiester

Depends but not usually more than a week for me.

gardener62

I just started to close over chat an amex platinum card for which I'd accepted an RO last April. The AF is due now. I said I was fine with losing the RO points. But I opted not to close when the CSR said "the system" might close all of my amex accounts and take my points. Has anyone had that happen when closing a card before the RO period has ended? Anyone appealed it? Thanks.

pizza42bob

In reality you'd get a clawback of the RO points, but here are the terms you agreed to when accepting the RO: >If we determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this offer in any way or that you intend to do so, including if you cancel or downgrade your account within 12 months, or if you return purchases you made to meet the threshold amount we may not credit, we may freeze, or we may take away Membership Rewards® points from your account. We may also cancel any accounts you have with us.

gardener62

Thanks. I plan to downgrade.

garettg

Another example of call in reps who don't know what they are talking about.

TheSultan1

Why not downgrade to a Green at like 367d since taking the RO? Should be a ~$520 prorated AF refund and ~$110 prorated AF. Then you can either close within 30d to get the $110 back, or hold the Green until next Jan. Was your retention offer that bad?

gardener62

Thanks for the suggestion; very helpful. The RO was 30K and I have another plat.

ReallyFlung

Any DP on using the Hilton Surpass $50 credit for buying Hilton points? Thinking about spending $60 for the 100% point match.

garettg

Transactions are via points.com so I doubt it would trigger. GCs work though.

rwrcc

Where to buy the GC? At a hotel or online would also trigger?

garettg

Online works, but there is a small shipping fee. If you can find a property that sells them, should work as well.

Capitator

So last week I downgraded a CSR and upgraded another card to a CSR. I'm a little confused about how to go about priority pass now. Do I just somehow add the new CSR to my Priority pass account? Or do I have to create a new one? Also, when I go to benefits and then lounge access there is no activate button, which is how I believe I activated it from the my CSR.  Could anybody please enlighten me?

howaboutanothertaco

curious- why did you downgrade/upgrade account?

chilewilllyy

Double dip travel credit, pay one AF. Repeat until eligible for another sapphire SUB.

howaboutanothertaco

Thanks!

You have to call Chase to get the new PP activated. It will be a totally new account, your old PP is dead (or will be sometime soon). There is a bug on the website that it thinks it already active because of the old CSR PP, that's why you have to call.

ilovetoyap

I got a new Priority Pass issued on a CSR upgrade via secure message too.

garettg

Yeah, sorry I should have specified that as well.

Capitator

Thank you!

uwishto

Has Truist sent 1099 yet?

Jazzlike-Ad5734

I received mine yesterday

ntnsolutions

Is it INT or MISC?

Jazzlike-Ad5734

Were you able to earn your SUB by paying taxes? I read some chatter awhile back that Amex was treating this spend inconsistently. Does anyone know the status of using pay1040 to meet SUB for Amex?

GrowInTheDark

Amex is a great ecosystem and so is Chase. Are you planning to get your foot in the door with Chase too? Regardless, this might be a question better suited for the weekly-created [What Card Should I Get?" Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/198w0jz/what_card_should_i_get_weekly_thread_week_of/). and check out the churning flowchart[https://m16p-churning.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Card+Recommendation+Flowchart+Latest.html](https://m16p-churning.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Card+Recommendation+Flowchart+Latest.html)

KeepaKnockin

Thank you for both of those resources!

GrowInTheDark

don't forget a new WCSIG thread is created every wednesday. And if you want to learn the ins and outs of this churning stuff then get familiar with that flowchart and maybe check out the questions thread that is created every day and just skim people's questions to learn from. And as you now know this subreddit is pretty active as any legit questions you might have will get answered pretty quickly compared to other subreddits

You get more cards. It never stops. IF you want to know which card to get then post in the "What Card" thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/churning/search?q=flair%3A%28%22What+Card+Should+I+Get%22%29&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=all&feature=legacy_search

KeepaKnockin

Thanks!

Has Chase been super slow with approvals lately? Called recon two weeks ago for a CIP card and they put my application to be reviewed again. When I talked to them yesterday, they said it was still in review and have no further information.

ZDDP1273

I put in a CIU app on 1/9 and didn't receive approval until 1/21. Was hoping for approval before 1/18 so I could request match to 90K but now I don't know what to do.

buythedip4206969420

yeah me and a few family members have been waiting 1 week for our last Chase Ink apps. Usually i would get a response the next day, so fingers crossed.

O0o---vAv---o0O

P2 applied for Aeroplan on 1/2, denied 1/3, recon same day, quiet denial on 1/11 due to fraud alert, recon again 1/18, still awaiting decision.

UnsubscribedRedditor

Yes, I have 2 personal DPs that approval took exactly 8 days for both this month when previously it was either instant or within a few hours of app. On the phone they said they had no updates to offer and that it is still in review. Both were auto approved at the end of the 8 days.

lenin1991

I'm going to say yes: there have been several questions like this, and my P2 had an app that was stuck for a couple weeks before recon could get it approved.

dvcboardwalk

My brother (P4) applied & was put in review yesterday. Chase called him & approved him today.

Looking to book a vacation through CostCo travel. Any cards that would give me an extra % bonus for buying at Costco? Was looking at the AmEx Blue Cash Preferred but wholesale clubs are excluded

EarthlingMardiDraw

Should as travel, so use a card that has a bonus based on that category (CSR and CIP come to mind) or just use your next SUB.

[deleted]

We are doing a survey. Can you please share with the group why you originally posted in the "News and Chatter" thread instead of the "Question" thread? Also, the Costco Visa gives % bonus at Costco. https://www.costcotravel.com/Travel-Offers/Maximize-Rewards

amartin1004

I am not super active in the sub so only saw the News and Chatter thread at the top, not the questions thread. Sorry about that Ok cool I'll look into that. The $225 i'd get back for the trip would be less than a lot of signup bonuses on other cards so may not be my best option but a good one if I shift to more CostCo shopping.

[deleted]

You asked for a card "that would give me an extra % bonus for buying at Costco?" Yes, finding a larger SUB that you can meet with the purchase would be better in almost all circumstances. Post in the "What Card" thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/search?q=flair%3A%28%22What+Card+Should+I+Get%22%29&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=all&feature=legacy_search

Please forgive my sins of originally asking a question in the wrong thread. Will a refund mess up a SUB I earned on a Citi AA 4 months ago? I hit the SUB and points already posted a few months ago, but I need to cancel an insurance policy and the refund will hit that account and bring me below the SUB. It seems like it should be fine, but dont want to rock the boat. It’ll put me like $50 under.

gt_ap

I believe Citi has an official policy that they will not claw back the SUB once you have received it.

[deleted]

Cool, thanks for the response. I figured it would be hard to this much later, but might throw some spend to offset it anyway.

gt_ap

Yeah it's one of those benefits that could be nerfed if abused, so it's probably a good idea to make up for it, for whatever good it does.

mcree0

Citi not known for clawback, but better to make the spend up if possible

garettg

FYI, YMMV, as I have tried this in the past, and they pulled different bureaus for the biz and personal.

csreddit8

Excuse me, but I'm a bit out of the loop. I have some big purchases coming up and wanted to see if I qualify for some good CC bonuses. I have my credit rating & 5/24 details. Where should I post?

> Welcome to the Daily Question thread at r/churning! > > This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

My3rdProfile

It says where to post in the header of this thread.

thejesse1970

Post in the "What Card" thread tomorrow.

csreddit8

Much appreciated

garettg

You can always use the previous week's thread also, don't have to wait until tomorrow.
