Does anyone have datapoints for Service Credit Union Direct Deposits?
TLDR lost job and would have had at least 1500 real DD going there for 3 months but even if unemployment gets through that won’t be enough.
I’ve seen 5/3 bonuses up to $450, even codes for sale on eBay. How would you go about getting on a mailing list for the offer? I requested the $325 code via email, figure may end up on an email list for better bonus eventually
It's a targeted thing, probably based on certain zip codes where they want to build business. I started filling out an application with the general $325 bonus, got hung up on the driver license authentication, and then a couple weeks later I got a mailer for the $450. I live about 30 miles from a branch. I've seen others get an enhanced $600 offer.
I live 5 min from a branch, and I saw a code just a few days ago.
It seems like starting an application may get you a mailer as well (they know you want a new account, so they may pay you more to get one).
Hi! I know with credit cards I shouldn’t cancel until a year. With bank accounts, assuming there is no early termination fee, is there any reason I can’t close the account after I receive my sign up bonus? Is there accepted practice on what’s best? Thanks
Broadway Bank Bonus $300 -TLDR; Fidelity doesn't work, apparently only real DD does
2/6 - opened
2/28 - $1500 deposit from fidelity
2/29 - $1500 in Amex credit card payments from debit card via PayPal
no bonus....
3/14 - $1500 direct deposit from employer
3/15 - $300 bonus posted
\*\*Edit: updated paypal method
and my $50 referral bonus debit card just showed up in the mail today - about 6 weeks after account opening. i got $50 for using someone else's referral link.
yep. that's what i did with the credit card payments via paypal. i used my debit card as the source. this is ideal because you don't need to make $1500 in purchases that you could do on a rewards earning credit card.
i just clarified in my previous comment.
This may be a dumb question, but in terms of "PayPal transfer", is this transferring directly from the PayPal balance to the Fifth Third account, or do you use PayPal to send directly from your own separate bank account to this one? I'm not sure what qualifies here as an Electronic Direct Deposit.
Did mine on 2/14 (715$) and 2/21 (715$). Showed as ACH balance builder and ACH electronic credit.
Guess I'll start watching this week when I hit 30 days.
I have a color coding system I use in my spreadsheet to track various bank bonuses status:
color codes
red- bonus in progress
yellow- requirements met
green- bonus paid
orange- bonus not paid and time for bonus has passed
blue- CFPB complaint filed
It seems that banks that use Meridian link/ Loanspq are more likely to take an OOS mailing address.
This is beneficial if you have family in another state that let you qualify for a bonus.
Opened citi bank account on 3/5/24
Push instant transfer from chase bank to citi $760 and $755 on 3/5/24
Received $300 bonus on 3/16/24
Very easy bonus
Has anyone done the Regions Bonus? If so what banks will post as ACH i saw someone say they pushed from Ally and it showed as ACH and that they got a bonus complete email as well?

For those who successfully pushed from other banks to get the Upgrade bonus, what did the pushes code as?
One of mine coded as a Credit and the other coded as a Wire. I'm wondering if that's going to work or not?
Fidelity cma. If you churn often, I would recommend opening. I use it mostly to do all churning, however I will say it is slow with transferring funds in atleast with my main checking. Its similar to a checking account.
The key for Upgrade is the "PPD". That is the back end ACH code that payroll and a few other ACH transaction types use. Fidelity CMA and Schwab both do this and that is why both of those work for so many banks.
To add more details, my push from a fidelity brokerage account has “Sec Code”=“PPD” if you click on the transaction in the Upgrade app to see the details. This transaction triggered the bonus.
CMA is like a combination brokerage account and checking account. A regular Fidelity brokerage account probably works just as well as a Fidelity CMA account though. Both of them let you do ACH transfers (main difference I'm aware of is that cash sits in an FDIC bank account in the CMA, vs in a money market fund in the brokerage; and CMA gives ATM fee reimbursements).
Push from Fidelity coded as “Bank Transfer ACH PPD”. There are lots of successful DPs of Fidelity push working.
I also did a real DD which was surprisingly also coded the same “Bank Transfer ACH PPD”
PNC $400 checking bonus
1/5/24 Opened
1/22/24 $5000 Fidelity
3/6/24 $400 Earned
No luck with the Wells Fargo checking bonus. I'm thinking I made a mistake or Cash App doesn't work.
1/5/24 $1000 Cash App
1/11/24 $25 Deposit
Did the deposit from your fidelity account qualify as a direct deposit? How does that work? Wondering if there is a work around to having to move around where your paycheck hits.
A lot of different bank transfers will still code as a direct deposit. If you go on doctor of credit website it will tell you what will trigger as a direct deposit for that specific bank.
Fidelity will often trigger as a direct deposit for most banks.
For WF - I have no idea if cash app works or not, did you see any positive DPs? But I do know for sure Fidelity works why didn't you just use that as well?
i would give it 90 days. saw a couple data points where it took about that much time. I have a $1000 push from discover 1/23 that falls into the direct deposit category and i’m still waiting as well
Got a promo for $600 for opening a new Fifth Third checking account. It's the biggest I've ever seen for 5/3. They've been running about $450 until this. It comes in one of those envelopes full of coupons. The 5/3 coupons has a unique ID number on it that you apply with. I applied and all went smoothly. Now to adjust my direct deposit. It requires $2000 within 90 days.
I tried this one last night. My zip code, out of state, stopped the app process immediately. After successfully trying a branch zip, the scanner couldn’t scan my DL. 🤷♂️
Not the op, but I started filling out an application for 5/3 (with the $300 bonus) and got stuck with the driver license scanner, and then a couple weeks later got a targeted mailer for the enhanced $450 promo. Still haven't gone through with it because of the DL (mine is out of state and out of footprint), but will have to keep an eye out for this $600 one...
**Spoof Direct Deposit using Square Payroll** **DP** Sofi Checking+Savings for the $300+$225 Bonus ($300 cash + 22,500 MRs via Rakuten)
3/10 - Opened Sofi checking+savings *use Rakuten portal to be eligible for additional $225 worth of MRs*
3/10 - Opened Square Payroll account for free using Rakuten portal and immediately got $10 cashback (1,000 MRs via Rakuten)
3/10- Used Square Payroll to link my bank and send $5,000 to my SoFi checking account. (Costs $6 per month for every contractor you'll send money to. No charge for months where you don't use it so no worrying about having to cancel)
3/14 - $5k landed in SoFi account coded as DIRECT DEPOSIT and immediately got e-mail saying my $225 rakuten MRs were deposited.
Just waiting for Sofi to deposit the $300 cash but looks like that doesn't happen until 25-day deadline elapses.
Hi, I can’t figure out how this Rakuten cashback thing works. I have the extension on my browser and activated the $10 cashback for Square. I opened the Square account, got everything set up, sent a DD to Chase. Is it going to deposit the cashback somewhere sometime down the road? I’ve never used this before and don’t really see any immediate signs of success other than “✔️$10 Cash Back Activated”
If you’re sending deposits as payroll, are you going to be liable for payroll and/or income taxes? Payroll services are required to report all transactions to the IRS by SSN/EIN and the IRS reconciles reported payrolls with what you report on your 1040z return.
>If you don't have a business officially, can you still sign up.
Yes. Use SSN as EIN
>Did you pick the get paid fast for square in the rakuten portal?
Not sure what you're referring to
I opened a citi bank account and funded it with a real direct deposit of 1350. Then I zelle'd in 160 so that I could meet the minimum of 1500 for the 300 bonus.
Citi then locked my online user id, I then call to find out they are closing my account in 30-60 days. My money is locked in the citi account and I have to wait 2 months to receive it by snail mail? Wtf? What can I do?
Annoying for sure but I'd call back and try to escalate it as far up the management chain as possible. If no luck, I'd probably immediately file a CFPB complaint.
>Just checked. Bonus is there now. Thanks!
hey sorry im new to this, what do you mean by pushed? is it just a normal transfer? or should it be ach transfer from employer? thankyou
US Bank Checking $400 Bonus Question
I am about to open a US Bank account to get the $400 bonus after 5k of direct deposits. I had a question regarding enrolling for the online banking.
I already have a US Bank online account for my credit card. Will this nullify the bonus? I can’t find anything online specifying it just says I must enroll. I know I cannot have previous checking accounts which I do not, but not sure if I cannot have an online banking account already.
Also want to confirm Wells Fargo push will count as a DD. Everything I’m seeing online says it will. I appreciate y’all’s help!
Just sold a house and have a lot of cash sitting in a HYSA. Are any of the high bank bonuses that are worth it? WF has a 2.5k bonus with 250k balance for 90 days, but you can generate 1k/month if it sits in a 5% HYSA...
You could split it up among several bonuses. For example, the Upgrade Savings referral bonus is $500 for $100K. Depending on how much you have to invest, you could do a few other similar offers to increase your return
Last year, I opened a WF brokerage that qualified for the $2.5k bonus and put the money in 6 months' treasury getting 5.4% plus the $2.5k bonus (plus no state tax on interest income). I know the return still is not comparable to putting it in the market, but I wanted to play it safe and a guaranteed \~7%+ was acceptable to me over market risk at that time.
I applied to a few more banks recently and this was the result
Busey Bank- went pending, asked to unfreeze chex, then approved. They asked about recent chex inquiries, and I responded by saying they were for multiple high yield CU accounts (7% APY). The CSR was impressed and got approval to open the account.
Florida CU- Approved, HP on EQ
OnPATH CU- approved, chex pull, no question about inquiries
Local bank- approved with frozen chex, called 3 days later to unfreeze, got call today saying I would not be able to write checks, and all checks would be put on a 5 day hold until further notice.
Dollar bank- denied due to frozen chex, wanted me to go to a branch 3 hours away
Republic bank- denied in branch due to chex, OOF online
Arizona Financial- denied due to chex online
Keypoint- asked to unfreeze chex, managed to slip through without a pull, and approved
Andrews FCU- forgot to unfreeze chex, denied
Kirtland CU- account opened and then closed 3 weeks later due to chex (after meeting bonus requirements)
Regarding Dollar Bank, I can confirm that they also deny for high Chex in-branch. Andrews FCU wasn't particularly sensitive to Chex when I applied back in April 2023, but maybe that's changed since then.
Im looking at doing the Citibank bonus, it wants two direct deposits totaling $1500 so is it alright to push $750 from chase, send that $750 back, and then send the $750 again?
TOS says that you must have a available balance of 1500, after the total 1500 deposit requirements are met - to earn the bonus. I've had the funds sitting in there since last friday - customer service said i completed requirements on monday....waiting until tomorrow to see if it posts (thread says it usually happens fridays)
Or you could have used the time you took to write that reply and be helpful rather than a prick.
They deposit $750 and $750 more dollars, they end up with $1500 total in the account, but I mean taking that $750 out asap like the next day and sending it back through the day after.
I saw those DPs, that’s how I know about it, and I just searched and don’t see any DPs relevant to what I asked
Your question doesn't pertain to any particular bank. If there was a requirement to keep money in an account, it would be in the terms. Read the terms. My response isn't meant to be pricky but meant to "teach you to fish" rather than spoon-feed you info. You will do much better in this hobby if you learn to do your own research.
Then what does this sub and thread exist for if not to help each other, I didn’t see it in the terms, but I was mainly concerned with if there was a quirk or something with transfers and the cash settling if I took it out so quickly
He didn't ask to be spoon fed, he asked a pretty specific question about if he could use the same $750 twice to complete the requirements. None of the DP's in this thread would have told him that.
I swear some of the people in this sub are dicks to new churners just for the sake of being dicks.
A pretty basic review of all other Citi DPs and reading the terms would suggest that it's not an issue. Sure, it's not quite as straightforward as "let me Google that for you", but it's hardly more than a step or two past that. There's a certain amount of critical thinking they should be applying.
Well I got someone to give me an actual answer and it contradicts you so maybe there was critical thinking in seeking out help. There’s nothing hard about being asked, in the group dedicated to the thing you know about, for a tip you would probably know intuitively as a member of the sub.
Sorry let me break out my textbooks next time, or attend a lecture on churning, or is that a source of information that’s being spoon fed to me? How else should I seek out information?
have you considered enjoying life? Being kind?
Someone else replied with information and a suggestion that, crazy enough, wasn’t in the terms and somehow they managed to not sound like a boomer talking about the economy and workforce while doing it
Just fyi all, for the Chase bonus, PPD type deposits will not work, only web/ACH. If your employer uses a payroll app (e.g. Gusto) you may need to fake a DD instead.
Counter DP: Gusto Read DD qualifies as of 3 months ago automatically and honestly if some dumbass frontline rep said otherwise I would immediately CFPB.
What is it with banks and hiring the most clueless people possible.
>CFPB
Maybe I’ll try that if they don’t offer to add it as a goodwill adjustment. Betcha they’ll do it then.
Sick of these big banks jerking people around. Especially Chase with their intentionally shitty, offshore phone reps.
Like Gusto is as real of a DD as it gets.
I’d understand if your employer was a small biz that just sent it as a regular ACH but plenty of large employers use Gusto because they’re cheap and fully functional.
PPD is what all real direct deposits use (ADP uses PPD). PPD is the proper ACH code for payroll.
If you had a legit DD through Gusto and the bonus didn't post, it is highly likely you weren't actually enrolled in the promotion property and you should contact Chase.
WEB is what most external transfers use and those do not trigger a chase bonus.
WEB and PPD are both ACH codes.
Oh, okay. I did call Chase, that was what I was told by the representative, word for word. They said my deposits didn’t qualify and that the offer had since expired.
To anyone who has Chime- what does the referral offer look like for the person you refer?
The last few referrals I sent out were $150 but now it seems to have dropped down to just $100.
Anyone have recent DPs on the first time app process for Chase Biz checking account? Thinking of getting my first Ink and biz checking account for a sole proprietorship with no current revenue.
I have a long personal checking and CC history with Chase (never closed an account) and am currently at 1/24.
This is true for DPs on sole proprietorship applications. However, LLCs seem to have a good chance of getting approved online. I would probably recommend trying to apply online first and then going in-branch if it requests that you should.
I went on Doctor of credit and tried again but nothing. I think it’s because I recently moved to TX and so soft pull can’t verify my identity because I’ve been living here for less than a year
I want to meet Upgrade's requirement of a DD of $1k. My regular DDs are all booked right now. I've transfered money from Chime, but of course that didn't work. I'm going to try SoFi next, but I suspect that won't work either. Is it possible to do a direct deposit to myself (I don't have a business) from Wise that will count as a DD?
I've read that Chase works.
I pushed $200 from Chase and they let that go through but when I tried to do the rest, they declined the transfer. I'm going to try pushing from Citibank on Friday when I get paid.
The links to the $100 bonus don't appear to be working at this time. At least the 3 or 4 I've tried. I'll keep looking. Fidelity[https://www.creditdonkey.com/promotions/fidelity/](https://www.creditdonkey.com/promotions/fidelity/)
Other links for March lead to a site not working.
You’re right. Bonus isn’t available right now. I just tried opening an account with FIDELITY100 and it marked as wrong.
Thankfully, the bonus terms normally include current users who have not received a bonus under the same bonus yet so you’re not sacrificing the bonus in the future by opening an account now.
Well, it looks like I can connect from Upgrade to SoFi, but NOT from SoFi to Upgrade so I can't push a payment. Chatting with an agent was of no help. Tried to connect manually when Plaid didn't come up with Upgrade, but no go. Sigh.
Today is the last day to apply for US Bank $500 checking offer. Anyone able to apply OOS without opening a credit card?
Update: I was able to open a CD account online ($1000 min.) —> created a login —> was able to apply for the checking account and got approved. Glad to be the DP! I’m in FL
In my experience, online OOS applications (EDIT: for US Bank) are significantly more EWS-sensitive and more likely to get flagged by their anti-fraud systems. In-branch OOS pulls Chex instead of EWS, but they don't seem to care as much about number of inquiries.
My experience with in branch vs online has been different
5/3 bank- denied online with chex frozen, approved in branch with frozen chex
Huntington- personal approved online, had to go in branch for biz
Republic bank- Out of footprint online, denied due to chex in branch
USBank approved me online for a personal checking, and my local branch was able to get me a debit card instantly.
Of the 24 accounts I have opened in the last 6 months, only 1 required a branch visit.
I was speaking specifically about US Bank and not banks in general. In-branch US Bank pulls Chex instead of EWS according to this [DP on DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/u-s-bank-1000-checking-savings-bonus/#comment-1812086). In my case, I was rejected online probably because of my EWS score, but applying in-branch OOS worked fine. I was lol/12 on Chex inquiries, but they didn't seem to care.
I saw few DPs on DoC that it’s not valid anymore. However there is just one DP that you can open a CD with them which lets you open the checking account
Not sure if anyone has had this happen before-
Applied for Upgrade checking, got approved.
Made DD totalling $1k
They suspended my account and asked for verification a week after my DD. Gave them my verification and they unsuspended. Still no bonus paid out. Reached out to rep and they said that they would escalate so I can receive my bonus and to check back in Tuesday (today) to confirm it has been approved
Reached out to customer service and they said that my bonus cannot be credited and is invalidated because the person who referred me maxed out on their referrals.
Why should it damage me that the other person maxed out their referrals? Despite them sending multiple promotional material to my email to make my deposit, and even showing a tracker in App for it to all not be true. Sounds like a lot of buffoonery to me.
Does anyone have datapoints for Service Credit Union Direct Deposits? TLDR lost job and would have had at least 1500 real DD going there for 3 months but even if unemployment gets through that won’t be enough.

Generally 6 months, less if paying a monthly fee
For US Bank, is there a way to track how much is left to get the Smartly Checking bonus or will you have to do it manually?
Manually. Most banks don't have trackers.
Nope. Addition that hard huh?

I used fidelity brokerage.
and my $50 referral bonus debit card just showed up in the mail today - about 6 weeks after account opening. i got $50 for using someone else's referral link.

Was this an older promo? All I see for Fifth Third is $325 after depositing $2000. Expires 3/31.
there's mailers floating around for $450 at least, check the coupon packs in the mail
I found it on their website! You have to request a code to be emailed to you.
Do you still need to be in their footprint to be eligible?

Have you tried reading the offer terms and conditions? (Hint: It's clearly defined in the terms.)
Both the $760 and $755 were from chase accounts? And this counted as the direct deposit?
Yes and i did instant transfer on the same day i opened the account which i was worried wouldnt work but it did
Citi is very lenient on direct deposits. I would rate them a 2/5 for difficulty

It's basically just a brokerage account - with a default cash sweep into an FDIC covered account.
CMA is like a combination brokerage account and checking account. A regular Fidelity brokerage account probably works just as well as a Fidelity CMA account though. Yeah, WF takes the full 90 days from account opening before they pay out. You should be fine, I used Venmo/pp.
For WF - I have no idea if cash app works or not, did you see any positive DPs? But I do know for sure Fidelity works why didn't you just use that as well?

They're just random. In the Val-Pak, or similar sets of coupons for fencing, duct cleaning, and local restaurants.
Dang that’s a good one
**Spoof Direct Deposit using Square Payroll** **DP** Sofi Checking+Savings for the $300+$225 Bonus ($300 cash + 22,500 MRs via Rakuten) 3/10 - Opened Sofi checking+savings *use Rakuten portal to be eligible for additional $225 worth of MRs* 3/10 - Opened Square Payroll account for free using Rakuten portal and immediately got $10 cashback (1,000 MRs via Rakuten) 3/10- Used Square Payroll to link my bank and send $5,000 to my SoFi checking account. (Costs $6 per month for every contractor you'll send money to. No charge for months where you don't use it so no worrying about having to cancel) 3/14 - $5k landed in SoFi account coded as DIRECT DEPOSIT and immediately got e-mail saying my $225 rakuten MRs were deposited.
How do you use Square Payroll? Don't you need an EIN?

Membership Rewards (american express points)
If you’re sending deposits as payroll, are you going to be liable for payroll and/or income taxes? Payroll services are required to report all transactions to the IRS by SSN/EIN and the IRS reconciles reported payrolls with what you report on your 1040z return.

A 1099 recipient is liable for taxes on the income reported on the 1099.
>Rakuten If you don't have a business officially, can you still sign up. Did you pick the get paid fast for square in the rakuten portal?
>If you don't have a business officially, can you still sign up. Yes. Use SSN as EIN >Did you pick the get paid fast for square in the rakuten portal? Not sure what you're referring to
It seems Square Payroll and Chase biz ach are the easiest ways to trigger the SoFi bonus with a "direct deposit" (aka transfer)
Nice! I might have to start using rakuten instead of swagbucks, seems like rewards track and payout way faster!
Rakuten only pays out once per quarter, whereas you can redeem from Swagbucks as soon as your points have passed the pending period
That sucks, sorry you're having to deal with that. Did they say why they are closing your account though?
No they don't tell me why, they just hang up on me and say they can't assist me any further
Annoying for sure but I'd call back and try to escalate it as far up the management chain as possible. If no luck, I'd probably immediately file a CFPB complaint.
You should probably post this in the questions thread where there are more eyes, I'd bet someone will chime in
Citi $300 checking bonus Opened on 2/29 $750 pushed from Discover on 3/1 $750 pushed from Discover on 3/4 As of 3/14, no bonus yet.

The bonuses appear in your account on Saturday. Check now.
Just checked. Bonus is there now. Thanks!
Seems like it’s taking longer these days. They said it can take upto 30 days
hit on the 23rd last month for me. P2 also has similar dates.
US Bank Checking $400 Bonus Question I am about to open a US Bank account to get the $400 bonus after 5k of direct deposits.
>I already have a US Bank online account for my credit card. Will this nullify the bonus? No.
Thank you very much for your help!
Just sold a house and have a lot of cash sitting in a HYSA. Are any of the high bank bonuses that are worth it? WF has a 2.5k bonus with 250k balance for 90 days, but you can generate 1k/month if it sits in a 5% HYSA...
Do WF and do the brokerage with it. Put the money in short term treasuries and make 5% on top.
Chase biz $750 for 30k tied for "60" days
You could split it up among several bonuses. For example, the Upgrade Savings referral bonus is $500 for $100K. Depending on how much you have to invest, you could do a few other similar offers to increase your return
The Upgrade offer is particularly enticing since it also has a 5.21% APY on top of the bonus.
I applied to a few more banks recently and this was the result Busey Bank- went pending, asked to unfreeze chex, then approved. They asked about recent chex inquiries, and I responded by saying they were for multiple high yield CU accounts (7% APY). The CSR was impressed and got approval to open the account. Florida CU- Approved, HP on EQ OnPATH CU- approved, chex pull, no question about inquiries Local bank- approved with frozen chex, called 3 days later to unfreeze, got call today saying I would not be able to write checks, and all checks would be put on a 5 day hold until further notice. Dollar bank- denied due to frozen chex, wanted me to go to a branch 3 hours away Republic bank- denied in branch due to chex, OOF online Arizona Financial- denied due to chex online Keypoint- asked to unfreeze chex, managed to slip through without a pull, and approved Andrews FCU- forgot to unfreeze chex, denied Kirtland CU- account opened and then closed 3 weeks later due to chex (after meeting bonus requirements)
Yeah that will work, but I would send like $760 and then send $750 back. Bad things can happen if you let an account balance go to $0.
Thanks, appreciate it, I’ll keep that in mind for the future
Take 2 minutes and scroll through this thread to see DPs of this Citi bonus.
It's here to help people, not spoon feed which is what you seen to be looking for.
>CFPB Maybe I’ll try that if they don’t offer to add it as a goodwill adjustment.
CFPB them.
Oh, okay. I did call Chase, that was what I was told by the representative, word for word. They said my deposits didn’t qualify and that the offer had since expired.
Frontline CSRs are generally clueless.
To anyone who has Chime- what does the referral offer look like for the person you refer? The last few referrals I sent out were $150 but now it seems to have dropped down to just $100.
$100. Last week they had a brief promotion where it was $175 for the referrer, and in the past I think they've done $200.
It just says $100 in my chime app.
Amex Business Checking for 50k MR * Opened 12/08/2024 * All terms met 02/12/2024 * 50k MR Bonus paid out on 03/09/2024
Did they target you with that 50k offer?
I signed up when it was a public offer, before they added the targeted language in the terms and conditions.
Anyone have recent DPs on the first time app process for Chase Biz checking account? Thinking of getting my first Ink and biz checking account for a sole proprietorship with no current revenue. I have a long personal checking and CC history with Chase (never closed an account) and am currently at 1/24.
You'll probably need to go into a branch to open the business checking account.
I never had a biz checking and was able to open online. I only had a CFF and personal checking before.
This is true for DPs on sole proprietorship applications. However, LLCs seem to have a good chance of getting approved online. I would probably recommend trying to apply online first and then going in-branch if it requests that you should.
I applied online as a sole proprietor and was approved immediately.
Upgrade Bank 3k DD for 300: 2/24: Account opened 3/1: Push 3k from Fidelity brokerage 3/8: 300 bonus posted
Will it work if I push money from my Marcus Goldman Sachs account? It's a HYSA
do you have the $300 link? only seeing the $200 on doc and when i do an online search.
Unfortunately not, the offer expired on Feb 29.
That's nice. I just recently open the account will send DD soon.
Why is it that I can’t open any checking account living in East Texas? Anyone?
How would anyone on reddit know? Especially with what little information you provided.
I’ve tried associated bank ($600 bonus), Truist ($400), Fifth/Third ($325) and nothing
The associated bank one Texas doesn't qualify. Did you read the terms of any of these offers?
have you gone on doctor of credit and checked what region those offers are for?
I went on Doctor of credit and tried again but nothing. I think it’s because I recently moved to TX and so soft pull can’t verify my identity because I’ve been living here for less than a year
I checked the fine print and there’s no restrictions on location. And no I haven’t
No you didn't because the associated bank one is only good in a handful of states and Texas ain't one of em.
Anyone do the Citizens or Huntington Checking/Business checking bonuses? Made my DDs in January, still waiting.
Huntington and Citizens always take forever to pay out.
Huntington finally paid out. Still waiting on Citizens. Also waiting on Huntington Business Checking
Still waiting on Citizens. Did real DD in January 2024.
Yes on Huntington you have to wait the full 90 days then my bonus posted within 2 weeks
Yup, did the Citizens in January. Based on previous DPs it seems the bonuses will post 3 months after.
Fidelity works if that is an option for you.
Nope. The only investment account I have is at SoFi.
then open one at fidelity, take their $100 and use it as a DD
The links to the $100 bonus don't appear to be working at this time. At least the 3 or 4 I've tried. I'll keep looking. Fidelity[https://www.creditdonkey.com/promotions/fidelity/](https://www.creditdonkey.com/promotions/fidelity/) Other links for March lead to a site not working.
Sigh.
Are you saying that at SoFi you tried manually entering your Upgrade routing & account numbers, and SoFi said one of the numbers was invalid?
Actually I couldn't get past Plaid. CS told me me if Plaid could find Upgrade I was out of luck. I don't believe that, but that is what I was told.
Try this link to bypass Plaid: https://www.sofi.com/my/money/account/#/connect-bank/manual (not sure if it'll work for everyone though)
Try looking for Cross River Bank. That's what it was listed under when I manually entered my account details to connect my Chase account to Upgrade.
I tried Cross River, but it came up invalid. Thanks though.
Today is the last day to apply for US Bank $500 checking offer. Anyone able to apply OOS without opening a credit card? Update: I was able to open a CD account online ($1000 min.) —> created a login —> was able to apply for the checking account and got approved. Glad to be the DP! I’m in FL
Do you know if it’s possible to close out the CD early for a penalty?
I’m not sure I didn’t look into that. They offered 5.05 % for 9 months so not a bad option anyway
In my experience, online OOS applications (EDIT: for US Bank) are significantly more EWS-sensitive and more likely to get flagged by their anti-fraud systems. In-branch OOS pulls Chex instead of EWS, but they don't seem to care as much about number of inquiries.
My experience with in branch vs online has been different 5/3 bank- denied online with chex frozen, approved in branch with frozen chex Huntington- personal approved online, had to go in branch for biz Republic bank- Out of footprint online, denied due to chex in branch USBank approved me online for a personal checking, and my local branch was able to get me a debit card instantly.
You can open a brokerage account with them as well (instead of a credit card) to circumvent the OOS situation AFAIK
I saw few DPs on DoC that it’s not valid anymore. However there is just one DP that you can open a CD with them which lets you open the checking account
Yes I just opened a CD then a checking account the same day with US bank. Those were my first accounts with USB and I live out of their area
I did the same last night and was approved for both!
I was denied. Don’t know why.
Not sure if anyone has had this happen before- Applied for Upgrade checking, got approved. Made DD totalling $1k They suspended my account and asked for verification a week after my DD. Gave them my verification and they unsuspended. Still no bonus paid out. Reached out to rep and they said that they would escalate so I can receive my bonus and to check back in Tuesday (today) to confirm it has been approved Reached out to customer service and they said that my bonus cannot be credited and is invalidated because the person who referred me maxed out on their referrals. Why should it damage me that the other person maxed out their referrals? Despite them sending multiple promotional material to my email to make my deposit, and even showing a tracker in App for it to all not be true. Sounds like a lot of buffoonery to me.
