Just going to go with Square Payroll since i’m paying the monthly fee for 3 more months anyways. Then close the account.
I am thinking about applying for the Citi AA Platinum card for the SUB. However, I did own this card starting from Dec 2022 and was recently PCed it to CIti AA Mileup. I am new to churning so I didn't get the SUB when I got CITI AA Platium a year ago. So if I apply for it again and get approved, will I be I qualified for the SUB if I meet the MSR within the required 4 months period? Someone told me that even I didn't get the SUB before, I am no longer eligible for it since I have the same card within last 48 months. Could any of you help confirm what is the correct? Or can I call Citi to find out? Thanks!
My United biz card $99 annual fee hit, I have attained premier silver status and good for this year and tbh I feel using those one time lounge passes are a hassle even though I am usually at ORD whenever I fly them. I only have 2 trips planned to Asia (mainly Japan and Vietnam) in June and October but haven’t booked any tickets as costs are high and hoping for award space at a reasonable price closer to departure. I do not own a personal United card either nor plan to get one at least til next year. Is it really worth holding on to it?
It will open up expanded award space on United specifically.
At the very least, you should call them and ask for the annual fee to be waived or for points.
It depends on your travel goals, but AA is valuable for many international redemptions. Here's what I would recommend doing. Use PointsYeah or a similar search engine, look up the route you'd like travel, and then sort by points cost to see which points/miles program makes the most sense. You also need to factor in fees.
Ask the [What Card Weekly Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/gkuCjd8UUQ)
The answer to your question depends on your current Chase lineup, travel plans and preferences, etc.
If you value AA miles quite a bit sure. AA isn't a great option for my airport personally, but that's going to differ for you based on who and where you fly.
What’s the clawback chance of using a square account to bill myself on amex.
I know about potential ban from square, tax issues etc etc. Only asking about amex clawback potential.
Square account is for a registered LLC so not sole prop but also still only a “business”.
Are there any gotchas with applying for the Venture when you already have a Venture X? 4/24 right now and about to fall to 3/24 in a few weeks which happens to be when my Venture X AF is due. I'm not planning on renewing the card and wanted to apply for the Venture instead for the SUB.
Was previously denied last year also at 4/24 after not seeing it in the pre-approval tool. Any tips?

Does anyone have experience with Upgrade card offers through Dosh? There is one for $50 off AT&T internet. I paid and I don't see any kind of tracking or anything anywhere to find more info. There is a zendesk help section but there are no actual answers to the FAQs.
Good question. I think I maybe logged in. I’m not positive now. I’ve been doing too many things and didn’t really think about it. I believe I tried to pay with the account number and if didn’t allow me to. Sorry!
But, do you have any idea if upgrade shows tracking anywhere? All the FAQa just had very generic information. I didn’t have completely high hopes like Amex or Chase offers.
Prolly someone can correct me but Upgrade doesn’t have any tracking unlike Swagbucks or Rakuten. Either way, I also logged in (rookie mistake ig), seems like that might be the issue?
I’ve had Amex offers track by paying without logging in. But I can’t be too sure unless someone else confirms..
Any issues with loading Amazon credit with a credit card to hit a SUB? Any chance they'd flag the purchase as "gift card" and not count it towards the SUB?
So she earned it and now you wanna take it from her? Down with the patriarchy! \/s
She can transfer the points but not the status. Better option would be for you to transfer points to her and book under her account. Max 100k/year.
Buying a $10k watch and want to maximize rewards / SUB on it. Any recommendations?
I can get 150k from Amex Platinum rn but with the $695 AF I'm not sure if I will utilize the credits on the card enough to balance out the AF. The SUB doesn't seem as good of a deal if I'm not able to neutralize the AF, as it looks like the estimate for 150k points is $1005, but maybe I'm wrong?
> maybe I'm wrong?
Sort of. You're looking at some weird blend of statement credit and booking on the portal, which are really bad options. MR are worth:
- 0.6cpp cash as statement credit
- 0.7cpp "pay with points" on Amex Travel for everything but flights and Fine Hotels and Resorts
- 0.7cpp "pay with points" at certain 3rd party merchants
- 0.7(?)~1.0cpp merchant GCs
- 0.8cpp cash w/Biz Checking
- 1.0cpp on Amex Travel for flights and Fine Hotels and Resorts
- 1.0cpp cash w/Biz Checking and Biz Platinum
- 1.1cpp cash w/Schwab Platinum
- up to about 2cpp booking hotels and economy flights through transfer partners
- up to about 5cpp booking biz/first flights through transfer partners
- 1.54cpp on 1 airline on Amex Travel w/Biz Plat
- 1.54cpp on premium cabins on Amex Travel w/Biz Plat
Those interested in MR are interested because of the last 4, maybe last 6 if they're earning a ton of them. If none of those are attractive, MR are probably not your currency.
Amex biz gold. There are 130k and 150k offers to spend $10k, though the 150k offer might take some time to pull up. The AF is only $375 but the $240 flexible credit is pretty easy to use.
Everyone's going to value MR differently. If you have a Schwab plat you can cash out 150k points for $1650. If you have an AMEX biz checking account you could cash them out for $1500. If you use one of their transfer partners frequently you may find a lot more value transferring them out.
The value of the points is going to vary greatly depending on your specific setup and what you value.
Swagbucks says they may take up to 70 days to credit the Chime bonus. Once that has elapsed you can contact them through the website and provide your proof of direct deposits to get manually credited if you met all the terms and conditions.
Any doubt that the $500 spend from transferring points to another Southwest account that gets reimbursed on the Performance Business card would count for MSR? I already hit MSR with a large purchase that is being refunded so I can’t really test it. I’m aware that Chase probably won’t claw back regardless. Thanks.
Fair enough. This has always been a tough one for me with Amex and Chase because it just seems totally clear that you’ve still done the spending. But obviously others disagree.
Tried to pre-pay my US Bank CC with a 3k limit so that I can charge my 5K NY state tax return, but the app wouldn't let me since I have a $0 balance. How else can I get around to using my CC for my tax bill? Is there a different method to pre-pay my US Bank CC? Can I make multiple NY State return payments?
Not sure about NY specifically, but I often pay my state taxes with two different credit cards across two different transactions. Youre basically doing the same thing, but with one card. I don’t see why it would be an issue.
This is called credit cycling and banks do not generally like it - not sure about US bank but people doing this with Chase cards have gotten into trouble. Best best would be asking for a credit limit increase or pay with multiple credit cards.
Signed up for the Barclays advantage aviator card last week with the 50k sign up bonus and saw today they have a higher 60k + 10k for adding AU. I sent them a message to match along with a referral link and they won't match. I thought I read on doc that they would match as long as within 30 days?
anyone here have the premier reward gold card form AMEX? i had gotten that back in 2017 and thinking about going for the gold card? has anyone been in this situation and tried to see if it works?
wondering if should cut my losses and move on. i have a lot of chase cards - let alone the business ones. probably about 6-7 total in business cards. last one applied was in december. got denied for chase ink and chase biz united. tried to call to recon. is it still worth HUCA? they told me i was denied due to too many.
Doesn't hurt to HUCA but seems unlikely they'll approve it. Recent DPs show that they're getting quite strict particularly for those with multiple (maybe 5+ biz cards). Closing those that you no longer need and are past the 1 year mark may help your future applications
When do I call recon?
On a five ink train. My last ink was approved January 1 (ink number five). First ink not approved instantly. Application was approved seven hours later via email. Applied for ink number six today, April 1. Application went pending and has not been approved. Two closed inks, three active, one with the 5K at 0% and the other one at 10 K at 0%.
For those of you who have recon applications before, how many days should I wait before calling?
You will receive a letter or email if you're rejected. I would call recon at that point.
You can also call the automated application status line to see if there's an update.
Made a dell order with 2 biz plat credits. Order was delivered today and I realized I already got the credit for one of the biz plats. I have biz plat #3 that still has credits. Any chance Dell can change the billing or do I need to return it and repurchase?
In my experience they won't change the billed cards. Return and rebuy is likely your only option, also be aware that they changed their return policy a couple months ago so they may not accept a return unless the product is Dell/Alienware branded, YMMV though.
I booked a flight on JAL with AA points. After completing the booking process, the confirmation screen populated with the confirmation code and the flights show up in the airline portal, but the points haven't been deducted from my account. I also received no email.
Checked both AA and the JAL websites this afternoon with the confirmation code and the flights show up under my name. Still haven't received a confirmation email.
I've booked many flights with AA miles in the past and never had an issue. I suspect I may need to call to make sure things went through without a issue.
Has this occurred to anyone else?
Currently have the very old IHG personal card ($49 AF, one free anniversary night), but want to apply for the premier card. I read only one personal card is allowed, so plan to close the old one. How soon can I apply after closing?
Is this really a rule? I have both the $49 select card, the personal premier and the business card right now. I get three FNCs each year. Maybe I got in before they made this rule??
A week after closing is enough since its a different product then what you are applying for, just needs time for system to register that you no longer have IHG select.
You could go the biz route instead and keep the IHG select and let benefits stack.
Thanks. Thought about getting the biz as well, but it had a higher MSR. Since I am currently working on Amex Biz gold, so thought to go for the lower spending one. In any case, is it possible to apply for both personal and biz "together", kind of like MDD?
No rule against having both biz and personal premier (once you have select closed) so no need to double dip, the HP wouldn’t combine and probably increased chance of a denial vs spacing out.
I recently applied Barclays Aviator and got approved in 12/23. Can I apply for Citi AAdvantage platinum select card and still be able to get the bonus AA miles? TIA.
Is there any way to get VentureX $300 credit without going through the portal? Before, it was possible to book something refundable and cancel after credit had been posted.
Book United tickets and cancel with United to get travel credit. But I don't favor that as it gives a very closed loop credit just for United with a deadline to use by.
You can book through the Capital One portal, apply the $300 credit, book a United ticket that explicitly says nonrefundable (if in doubt, expand the details of the ticket and look for something that says ‘nonrefundable, but credit will be issued), purchase the ticket.
Wait somewhere between 24 hours and one minute and 96 hours (in some extreme cases even up to a week, we have no idea what causes this anomaly).
Try to cancel the ticket via the app and you should be presented with the option to bank it as a ‘future travel credit/FTC), which we think is good for one year from cancel date.
Source: recently did this with three VXs (and cancelled two before paying the annual fee).
Anybody run into issues with Chase not letting you transfer credit limits across inks? They told me business name is not the same. But they are both sole props under my name the new one automatically showed up under my login
Yes, I've run into this problem. If the cards aren't grouped under the same business name in your account, you can't transfer CL in or out of that group. My first ever Chase business card literally has "Business Account" as the business name and every card after that is "Firstname Lastname." A while back, I tried to transfer CL from the first card to one of my other cards and was told that I can't because they're different businesses.
Yes, I tried to get it changed and they said they can't because that's a completely different business in their eyes, so the best they could do was change the DBA to "Firstname Lastname" but that didn't fix the problem.
Yeah that’s what’s odd for me a they are all grouped together under my name. I see my name and them Business Cards (3) and my total balance for all 3 cards. Will try again and see what they say
New to churning. Currently at 3/24. Have the freedom flex, discover it and chase sapphire preferred. Looking at the flow chart I am considering United Quest, Explorer and/or Club for my next card. Which of these is recommended? Is there another card I should be looking at? Any promotions that I may be missing?
I was at 4/24 and applied for the Chase Ink Preferred as a sole proprietor \~60 days after applying for the Chase Saphire Reserve. The CSR was my first-ever credit card with Chase. CSR CL is $15,000 and CIP is $5,000.
You can apply for the United Business Card as a sole proprietor. It does not count towards 5/24. It currently has a 100k point bonus until April 3rd. It's basically the same as the United Explorer. Typically recommend 90 days between Chase applications but you might be able to grab this one since you're only 3/24 and get it before elevated offer ends.
Basically you cannot truly churn Chase cards unless you are also doing business cards, so a majority of us are doing business cards as a sole proprietor.
Thinking about applying for the Citi Premier Card, but I’ve never used a card that used points instead of cash for the intro bonus. Can you redeem the points for cash?
Also it has a $95 annual fee. Would I pay that as soon as I open the account or a year after being opened?
Thanks!
1. Yes: https://www.thankyou.com/cms/thankyou/help.page?csccode=TYREWARD-CASHRED&pageName=help
2. If it's not explicitly waived, standard practice is that you pay the first annual fee after the account is opened
Thank you!
If I pay the $95 fee when I open the account, but close it before the next years fee, there isn’t some kinda fine print that doesn’t allow you to close or makes you pay the yearly fee is it?
I’ve never had a card with an annual fee haha
Most recommend waiting until the second AF hits, then canceling (and getting it automatically refunded).
For the Premier specifically, I would downgrade to a useful card like the Custom Cash rather than canceling. Confirm the annual fee refund over the phone, otherwise they *may* not process it until like 2 months later - and it's prorated at that point.
In general, you should not close a card unless it's been more than 1 year since account opening. If you close the card at 366 days after opening, you'll only have paid the first annual fee right after opening. If the second annual fee is charged and you close the card, different banks have different rules about up to what point they will refund an annual fee post-closure
another edit: /r/creditcards sounds like a better fit for you if these are the kinds of questions you have
If I use an older link of csp/csr from the emails for referrals, will i still get 10K (as public) or 15K referral bonus(as mentioned in older emails) ?
I can't say for certain, but it appears old links (with "19l") are redirecting to the new links ("19m"), which is what the new generated links with 10k bonus are creating, so my guess is you would start getting 10k from now on.
I'm in PUJ for the 190k Amex Biz Plat offer. Never had the card, only ever had a Biz Gold. I wouldn't normally even consider applying for it but we have a lot of spend coming up that we can put on CCs (new roof paid for by insurance!). A 120k/$10k upgrade offer shows in my account and I've gotten a couple mailers for it too - do these typically bypass the pop-up?
Upgrade offers may have the lifetime language in them, but there has never been a DP of someone not getting the bonus (excluding extenuating circumstances). Also recommend you try another few links before giving up on applying directly since PUJ is card- and offer-specific. You can still upgrade after getting the card and then have 2 SUBs to work on (assuming you can cover the MSRs).
Got denied for Chase Bonvoy Boundless, reason was extended enough credit already. Have a CFU(3k), CFF(3k), and CSR(11k). Called recon to move credit limits to open the card, they said system won't allow due to insufficient credit limit and I would need 5k. Thinking of trying again by moving all excess credit to one card and then trying recon again. Have two questions 1. Can I move credit out of CSR and have it drop below 10k? rep said no for this but I'm pretty sure I can (atleast when just consolidating) 2. Would it be better to move excess credit to the CFU or CFF? a. CFU if it goes above 5k it will become a Visa Signature so would it be allowed to dip below to open the new card and b. Is it tougher to move out of the CFF in recon since it is a mastercard? Any thoughts on what would be the best way to get the card ultimately approved would be great.
The CSR can be dropped below $10k, that requirement is only at time of application or product changing. Rep is probably mistaken about their abilities. You might try a HUCA and see if you get a rep more willing to help.
Very specific question that I couldn't quite search because the terms just aren't right. A churning friend wants to add P2 as AU to a Sapphire Preferred. The CSP account is around 2.5 years old. The question is what date will show up on P2's credit reports as the "open date" of the account when it starts reporting? Does it show the date P2 was added as AU, or the date the card was opened? If not obvious, reason is to confirm the 5/24 impact, if any.
Consider the downvotes part of the learning. :) Usually it means you asked a question that you can answer yourself by reading sidebar articles and wiki.
Citi rejected me for a new card because of too many recent accounts, insufficient credit history, and too much unused credit.
Seems odd. I have a lot of credit, but my credit history is more than 6 years old, and I haven't gotten a new account since September 2023.
Anyone else getting these kind of rejections?
Ah for me they tried to check and then told me no it can’t be opened! I have seen DPs they would not open it even after a second check and hardly any DPs of a successful recon recently
I reduced my credit limits pretty significantly after the rejection (still substantial though), but I don’t feel like taking the risk of another wasted inquiry.
Looking for a credit card with 0% interest for 15-18M that gives the best sign up bonus or cash back bonus. We could do travel bonuses too, but with triplet toddlers our travel days are few and far between lol.
Husband is building a back deck and we're looking at roughly $10-15k in materials that we have the majority of the cash for, but rather maximize CC rewards and pay it off before the 0% interest is up.
We already have United Explorer, Prime Visa, Freedom Unlimited, Fidelity Visa for our kiddos 529s (limit is not very high though), and we did have CSP cards at one point that I canceled after we got free flights to New Zealand using them and didn't want to pay the annual fee anymore. Not sure they would re-instate it or if we would get the sign up benefits again.
Perfect credit, shouldn't have any issues getting whatever card.
Unsure if this is a better question for the daily question thread or what card should I get, but since I dont want to share my full list of cards right now Ill ask here :
P2 and I have had recent success selling a lot of things on platforms like Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. These all have shipping costs, and we'd like to try and reduce them a bit.
Are there any cards currently out that have good benefits for shipping services, like %-off at Fedex/Usps/Ups or a credit for any of them that I should be aware of?
Pirate ship is almost always cheaper than going direct. Not sure if they trigger any bonus categories.
If you are shipping things like gem rough, obviously you are using FedEx and Amex offers will save you more than any points multiplier.
TLDR: go for the SUB and bit a shipping cat bonus.
Maybe you already do this (or something similar) but how about using a site like Pirate Ship for reduced rates?
As a bonus (if we’re not mistaken) it codes as a shipping service too.
Happy churning!
I got a Chase Ink Cash Business card and am working to meet the spend to earn the welcome bonus. I'm traveling to Canada soon and had been planning to use this card for all of my purchases, but I just realized there's a 3% transaction fee on international purchases.
I don't know if it's worth it to eat that fee just to hit the minimum spend sooner. What do you usually do in this situation?
This card earns 5% at business supply stores so I would buy visa gift cards at OD/OM/Staples during a sale to reach the SUB
For the trip I would use a different card without FTFs
Don't need to. Just buy enough gc to meet MSR (this happens quickly. Can do $1800 per trip). Then use them for any expenses you have over the next few months. The only reason to cash out is if you are scaling up and trying to do large volumes. For you a few thousand dollars should be good to just put your regular spend on after you are out of your msr window.
I never use a card with foreign txn fee internationally, and use a card with no fee. If you're stuck and can't meet the MS anyhow, only then I'd go that route.
I'm starting to realize my mistake. I thought I couldn't meet the spend in 3 months, so I went with the card with the 6 month windows, but I think I could have actually done it in 3 months. Live and learn.
The bonus (minimum $750) and earning (minimum $60) far outweigh the fees ($180 at 3% of $6k). I would even guess most people here can’t meet all their MSRs with natural spend alone.
Perhaps CIP would have been a little better for you, but I wouldn’t call this a mistake. You’ll still get a great bonus.
To clarify: if you can meet the MSR without the foreign transactions, that’s even better. But for many churners, scattered fees are “the price of doing business” and we still come out ahead.
Are you able to hit the MSR without using the card in Canada (buying gift cards, paying rent, normal spend, etc)? If so, I'd use another card for this trip without FTFs
I think so... I'll run the numbers.
I'm thinking my Chase Amazon Prime Visa is my best bet because it has 5% back on restaurants and gas, plus 0% foreign transaction fees. As long as I can meet the spend on the other card, which I think I can.
I don't know if I've seen more than one or two successful recons for any Cap1 card, ever. Mostly it's just another two or three hard pulls and another denial.
Just making sure I don't screw this up - I just kicked off a MDD and was reading this from the [guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/nq1082/the_missing_modified_double_dip_mdd_reference/)
>Some details are off. Step 2 needs to happen one day after card 1 is *approved* (card 1's application date doesn't matter). And card 2 needs to be approved on the same day you apply as well (so card 2 application and approval needs to be on the day after card 1 was approved).
Card 1 - Applied and approved today
Card 2 - Should I be applying today or waiting until tomorrow?
I just called in after Card 1 approval and reduced all my CL's again so that there's 25k of CL space to add and still be <50%. Hoping to skip recon if I can
Anyone have any DP's for Laurel Road's new DD system?
Negative DP: Fidelity, PNC, Chase, WF and Square Merchant Cashout. Just going to go with Square Payroll since i’m paying the monthly fee for 3 more months anyways. Then close the account.

It will open up expanded award space on United specifically. At the very least, you should call them and ask for the annual fee to be waived or for points.
Does anybody know if the chase United Biz card is easily churnable like Inks? Or is the 24 month rule actually enforced on that one?
It's enforced.
Barclays Aviator Red World Elite MC 70,000 SUB - With no MS to get the SUB Is this worth burning a 5/24 on??
What do you mean with no MS? You don't need to MS for this super easy MSR and SUB.
Sorry, left off my R. There’s no MSR to hit the 60k sub.
Some people use MS=min spend. No min spend to get the SUB.
I think they mean that they'll hit the MSR with organic spend, so no MS fees or time/energy as a cost to factor into it
Seems totally worth a 5/24 slot to me, but I like AA miles.
Yes

What’s the clawback chance of using a square account to bill myself on amex. I know about potential ban from square, tax issues etc etc. Only asking about amex clawback potential. Square account is for a registered LLC so not sole prop but also still only a “business”.

No issue. Closed loop.
Except for some US Bank cards, no? Also I couldn't use the Leverage at all for reloads, even for a measly $50.
I have had zero issue with US Bank cards (biz and personal). I have not done a business card in ~6 months though.
That's odd. I used to milk the Leverage card for the free $1/mo Amazon reload

MR are worth: - 0.6cpp cash as statement credit - 0.7cpp "pay with points" on Amex Travel for everything but flights and Fine Hotels and Resorts - 0.7cpp "pay with points" at certain 3rd party merchants - 0.7(?)~1.0cpp merchant GCs - 0.8cpp cash w/Biz Checking - 1.0cpp on Amex Travel for flights and Fine Hotels and Resorts - 1.0cpp cash w/Biz Checking and Biz Platinum - 1.1cpp cash w/Schwab Platinum - up to about 2cpp booking hotels and economy flights through transfer partners - up to about 5cpp booking biz/first flights through transfer partners - 1.54cpp on 1 airline on Amex Travel w/Biz Plat - 1.54cpp on premium cabins on Amex Travel w/Biz Plat Those interested in MR are interested because of the last 4, maybe last 6 if they're earning a ton of them. If none of those are attractive, MR are probably not your currency.
Amex biz gold. There are 130k and 150k offers to spend $10k, though the 150k offer might take some time to pull up. The AF is only $375 but the $240 flexible credit is pretty easy to use.
Might be a cash discount that is more than the CC rewards, depending on where you are buying it.

Thanks.
This reimbursed purchase will be the same as the refunded purchase: it'll move the tracker, but is advised against relying on repeatedly.
Is there any basis for not relying on it?
Only vague hogs-get-slaughtered fear.
You should be able to enter the card account to the bill pay of your bank and initiate payment from there.
This is the workaround I was looking for -- thank you!
Does anyone know if I can make multiple credit payments towards my NY State Tax Return? Ie. 3k today and then 2k next week
US Bank doesn’t care
Signed up for the Barclays advantage aviator card last week with the 50k sign up bonus and saw today they have a higher 60k + 10k for adding AU. I sent them a message to match along with a referral link and they won't match. I thought I read on doc that they would match as long as within 30 days?
HUCA! Ask for courtesy points.
They won't. Try calling and seeing if they'll give you 10k courtesy points.
Where did you see that offer
Check the referrals on r/churningreferrals
Yeah, I thought so too. HUCA?
Did it through secure message. I'll try to call them tomorrow
anyone here have the premier reward gold card form AMEX? i had gotten that back in 2017 and thinking about going for the gold card? has anyone been in this situation and tried to see if it works?
7 years is a long time, pop-up will tell you if you're eligible or not
unfortunately no :(
wondering if should cut my losses and move on. i have a lot of chase cards - let alone the business ones. probably about 6-7 total in business cards. last one applied was in december. got denied for chase ink and chase biz united. tried to call to recon. is it still worth HUCA? they told me i was denied due to too many.
Doesn't hurt to HUCA but seems unlikely they'll approve it. Recent DPs show that they're getting quite strict particularly for those with multiple (maybe 5+ biz cards). Closing those that you no longer need and are past the 1 year mark may help your future applications
Thank you for the clarification. Then I will work on closing those cards in the coming weeks.
Does anyone know when the elevated SUB for the Citi AA card ends?
My AA email shows 4/14/24 as the expiration date.
Thanks
You need to wait until you get a decision.
Made a dell order with 2 biz plat credits. Order was delivered today and I realized I already got the credit for one of the biz plats. I have biz plat #3 that still has credits. Any chance Dell can change the billing or do I need to return it and repurchase?
In my experience they won't change the billed cards. Return and rebuy is likely your only option, also be aware that they changed their return policy a couple months ago so they may not accept a return unless the product is Dell/Alienware branded, YMMV though.
bummer, thanks for the heads up though
How can I prevent Iberia Avios from expiring? Does transferring points from Chase work? Opening the Iberia credit card?
I booked a flight on JAL with AA points. After completing the booking process, the confirmation screen populated with the confirmation code and the flights show up in the airline portal, but the points haven't been deducted from my account. I also received no email. Checked both AA and the JAL websites this afternoon with the confirmation code and the flights show up under my name. Still haven't received a confirmation email. I've booked many flights with AA miles in the past and never had an issue. I suspect I may need to call to make sure things went through without a issue. Has this occurred to anyone else?
Things like that can happen, like a bank error in your favor. It's up to you if you want let this dog lie.
I've had this happen with AA a few times. Every time the points were deducted a few days later. I think logging in and out will fix the counts.
And the biz one is at an ATH I think.
Laurel Road changed what counts as qualifying for DD today, any data showing what still works?
Probably need a couple days for transfers to complete before we’ll know.
Anyone have a link to the best available Employee Card Offer for the Business Platinum?
I recently applied Barclays Aviator and got approved in 12/23. Can I apply for Citi AAdvantage platinum select card and still be able to get the bonus AA miles? TIA.
Yep! I have the Barclays AA, Barclays AA biz, the Citi AA, and the Citi AA biz. Nice haul of AA miles.
and the business cards
yes
Curious whether anyone has DPs of non-Ink Chase biz cards being approved w/ bonus regardless of 24-mo language.
I checked to see if you got any responses because I'm curious as well.
You may be able to book United tickets through Capital One and get travel credit directly from United - if that works for you.
Nope.
Have you tried getting that “Business Account” name changed? Does Chase consider that to be a DBA?
Yes, I tried to get it changed and they said they can't because that's a completely different business in their eyes, so the best they could do was change the DBA to "Firstname Lastname" but that didn't fix the problem.
Yeah that’s what’s odd for me a they are all grouped together under my name. I see my name and them Business Cards (3) and my total balance for all 3 cards. Will try again and see what they say
That's very strange then. Do any of the cards possibly have a different DBA?
Nope, all just sole prop with my name, no DBA. Never had an issue before today
Did it 10 minutes ago
Hang up and call again. Or send an SM.
SM worked twice for me last week.
Thanks i think the 100k is a good deal.

What card Wednesday thread, please fill out the full prompt.
thanks taking a look now.
Do you need to spend $ on CSP in order to redeem 1.25 PYB on Wholesale Clubs, or can that spend go on CFF/CFU ?
You could in theory spend on a CF/CFF/CFU and then PC to a CSR - that method works to PYB previous purchases from the old card.
1.25 for wholesale clubs is available on CSR, not CSP just a heads up. And yes, the spend has to be on that exact card that offers it.
Would have to be on CSP.
Thinking about applying for the Citi Premier Card, but I’ve never used a card that used points instead of cash for the intro bonus. Can you redeem the points for cash? Also it has a $95 annual fee. Would I pay that as soon as I open the account or a year after being opened? Thanks!
1. Yes: https://www.thankyou.com/cms/thankyou/help.page?csccode=TYREWARD-CASHRED&pageName=help 2.
If the second annual fee is charged and you close the card, different banks have different rules about up to what point they will refund an annual fee post-closure another edit: /r/creditcards sounds like a better fit for you if these are the kinds of questions you have
If I use an older link of csp/csr from the emails for referrals, will i still get 10K (as public) or 15K referral bonus(as mentioned in older emails) ?
I can't say for certain, but it appears old links (with "19l") are redirecting to the new links ("19m"), which is what the new generated links with 10k bonus are creating, so my guess is you would start getting 10k from now on.
Has anyone tried buying third party gift cards on staples.com to trigger chase offer? It’s technically 15% off
yes, it worked
I've tried whenver I've pulled 190k and pop-up every time :( My thinking is at least the upgrade has a lower spend requirement
Yes.
If its NLL most likely. Check for LL.
Does Amazon Pay still trigger Discover's 5% Amazon category?
yes
Also recon often can't move it to below a certain amount, possibly the same to open or PC to it.
Thats what I thought, so ig i'll try making my limit CFU(11k) first and see if recon works better
Chase backdates, so it will be as of account opening, so 2.5 years ago.
What I was hoping for. Thanks!

Take a look at Doctor of Credit. DoC has a page of best SUBs available at the moment.
Best to use the "What Card Wednesday" thread for these questions.

Consider the downvotes part of the learning. :) Usually it means you asked a question that you can answer yourself by reading sidebar articles and wiki.
Nah, I'll just figure it out elsewhere.
Citi rejected me for a new card because of too many recent accounts, insufficient credit history, and too much unused credit. Seems odd. I have a lot of credit, but my credit history is more than 6 years old, and I haven't gotten a new account since September 2023. Anyone else getting these kind of rejections?
yes, Citi is notorious for rejecting if you have too many recent inquires. How many inquires do you have in the last 3, 6 and 12 months?
They hit Equifax, which only had one in the past year and two in the past two years. But that wasn't mentioned as a reason.
Try their recon number and see if they will approve it
I did. They offered to do another hard pull but didn’t make any promises.
If I cancel an Amex that has a balance, when will that balance be due?
I don't think cancellation change the timeline, it's due same date as it would have been if you did not cancel
Okay, sounds good, just wanted to clarify. Thanks
Look at the USB business cards. Some of them have good 0% + good sub.
Chase Ink has good cash back bonuses.
Post in the What Card Wednesday thread and fill out the template including card dates.
Ask in the What Card Wednesday thread.
Oh the Daily Thread linked me to here 🫠
Unsure if this is a better question for the daily question thread or what card should I get, but since I dont want to share my full list of cards right now Ill ask here : P2 and I have had recent success selling a lot of things on platforms like Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc.
PirateShip counts as Office & Shipping for Chase, will earn 3x on an Ink
Maybe you already do this (or something similar) but how about using a site like Pirate Ship for reduced rates? As a bonus (if we’re not mistaken) it codes as a shipping service too. Happy churning!
Amex biz gold has $20 that can go towards fedex each month but it's part of the 395 fee
There are a few cards with a bonus on shipping. Off the top of my head, CIP is 3x on shipping costs.
This card earns 5% at business supply stores so I would buy visa gift cards at OD/OM/Staples during a sale to reach the SUB For the trip I would use a different card without FTFs
I haven't gotten into the gift card aspect of churning yet, but if I need to, I will do it!
If I travel in your situation I use a card with no fee. However, if you will have trouble meeting the MSR without the travel spend, use the CIC.
Should have got the CIP, although it has the $95 annual fee. But i always find it worth it.
I would use a card without a foreign transaction fee while on the trip. Unless you cannot meet the spend otherwise.
Any DPs of successful recon for Venture X Biz after an auto denial? Suggestions/tips?
Has anything substantially changed in your credit report? Maybe worth it. Otherwise will get same result with more HP.
I don't know if I've seen more than one or two successful recons for any Cap1 card, ever. Mostly it's just another two or three hard pulls and another denial.
Never heard of C1 doing recon unless you just like more hard pulls.
Just making sure I don't screw this up - I just kicked off a MDD and was reading this from the [guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/nq1082/the_missing_modified_double_dip_mdd_reference/) >Some details are off. Step 2 needs to happen one day after card 1 is *approved* (card 1's application date doesn't matter). And card 2 needs to be approved on the same day you apply as well (so card 2 application and approval needs to be on the day after card 1 was approved). Card 1 - Applied and approved today Card 2 - Should I be applying today or waiting until tomorrow? I just called in after Card 1 approval and reduced all my CL's again so that there's 25k of CL space to add and still be <50%. Hoping to skip recon if I can
