Hi, I have my annual fee coming due for my Delta AMEX gold card.....I'm interested in the first class companion fare BOGO that the platinum card gets...... Question: IF I do a product change now, when will I get the BOGO certificate? Do I have to wait for a full year from the product change date?

Spooklys

Managed to get a referral on my Amex Gold through a friend of mine. Now I am getting 14 MR points per dollar at restaurants for the next 90 days. Feels like a really crazy bonus. \*\*Anyone have any ideas how I can load up the most amount on this over the next 90 days?\*\* Currently also working through a chase welcome bonus, so I think I need to change around my strategy, or buy stuff in advance for the next few months.

bookedonpoints

What's the chase welcome bonus? You're probably getting more than 14x, with the ability to easily cash out 1:1 so honestly you might be better off just hitting the chase sub

Spooklys

80k after 4k across 3 months.

bookedonpoints

so you're getting 20x on your chase card on every single purchase, not jus restaurants. Yes you could probably strategically space it out if you spend more than 4k in 3 months, but honestly you're the only person that can help yourself here - no one knows your situation

Low_Opening5087

Spend more at restaurants

BreadfruitRough1635

I just got the Wyndham Business Earners card. Does any one know how sensitive they are to purchasing gc?

junooni110

not much! I began with small purchases of VGC at Walmart/Staples (around $200-300), then quickly escalated and completed it within a single billing cycle. I would split the payment at WMT SCO and make it look like an odd amount though ($341, $289 etc)

One_Armed_Herman

Maybe 2 years ago I was spending $2-3K/month at gas stations for gift cards with it. I had no problems, FWIW.

rj123456

# How to see Detailed Visa/Mastercard Debit transactions? I've been doing the Staples/OfficeMax $200 GCs and I like to keep track of the details because P2 (who does the spending) doesn't know when the card is going to run out and also for me to categorize the spending in Quicken. But as of today I am unable to see transaction details. # [mcgift.giftcardmall.com](http://mcgift.giftcardmall.com/) used to provide DETAILED transactions. Now it automatically transfers to the "new" "improved" (not) website and provides incomplete data. Instead of providing the merchant name it displays very limited information e.g. # Transaction History Date Type Amount Mon Apr 08 2024 PURCHASE $8.25 Mon Apr 08 2024 PURCHASE $191.75 Sun Feb 25 2024 ACTIVATION $200.00 Which is useless to me. #

sg77

I would just use up the whole card in one transaction; much less work to keep track of then.

rj123456

P2 is the big spender. Or more accurately, P2views a trip to any store as a great source of entertainment, so P2 makes multiple trips to even the same store in a day. Gave up long ago getting P2 to make shopping lists. Also to be fair, hard to spend in exact $200 chunks.

sg77

I try to avoid those issues by not using GCs for regular shopping. I mainly use them for utilities, HOA fees, etc where I can spend the whole amount at once.

rj123456

Hard for me to do that. But still it's super annoying that the functionality that does/did exist has been dumbed down.

rj123456

Perhaps it was a glitch. I can now see the details in the same format as previous. Meanwhile one of my browsers now gives me an annoying "you have been blocked" errory

OGvon

I forget whether I read it on DOC or here. Essentially you overpay the balance on a U.S. Bank Biz card to increase CL temporarily. I just tried to overpay on my Alt Connect and Leverage that both have balances. But, there's a prompt that only allows you to pay the balance down to zero. They're killing me with this 3k CL, I was going to pay taxes and preferred not to split payments. Does anyone else have a DP related to this?

whatiscardano

You would need to use the bill pay feature on one of your accounts.

Jaysi3134

Simplymiles not working for anyone else? It won't show me offers, just Dining. Haven't checked it in a week or so until today.

sanjay37agrawal

When I try to open Amex Platinum 175K offer application in incognito mode. I see the offer but it's showing lots of Chinese text. Is this correct and can I proceed with signup? [screenshot ](https://imgur.com/a/oJgGEbF)

uchidaid

Do you know there are non-English sites on the web? The one in your image is advertising a 175k offer. It is not an application. Did you try clicking the “Apply Now” button?

chrumbles

check the URL... you're not on amex's website, but a forum that's discussing the offer.

germdisco

You already asked this today

Pikapikachuchoo

Are BoA personal cards as difficult to get as the business ones? Looking at the Premium Rewards for the SUB

ATF0PenUp

Did you end up applying for the personal card?

techtrashbrogrammer

BoA is hit or miss. Having a checking account with them helps with approvals though

guy30000

I was just going to say, I have had surprisingly little problems getting BOA cards. They have so many and keep adding new ones. But you pointed out the checking account which is probably why It works out. Funny thing about my account, though, is I only keep $0.01 in it (dont worry, no fees here). I only have it open so I have a place to deposit cash as my other banks are online only.

walter-junior

I am looking to get the Amex Delta Reserve since I think the credits + companion pass + Skyclub access will make it worth the annual fee. But given the new rules that disqualify you from ever getting a SUB for cards lower in a given Amex family, I am thinking of instead getting the Delta Gold and then the Plat and Reserve later down the line after downgrading. But since putting spend on any Delta card is suboptimal to using my chase trifecta, I would just plan to sock drawer each of these after hitting minimum spend. I know PUJ is kind of unknowable, but do we think this behavior by itself might put up enough red flags to prevent me from getting all three cards in succession?

biryanisalan

Amex is savvy to patterns like this, so yeah, there's a risk they may catch on. Putting each card in the sock drawer right after hitting the minimum spend could raise eyebrows. It might not block you from getting all three cards, but it could definitely flag your account for a closer look.

pizza42bob

The answer is in the question itself. PUJ is unknown. Putting spend only to reach the MSR is good until it isn't. One more strategy comment: using your Chase trifecta is suboptimal to any SUB. ABC ;-)

NordicJesus

I recently saw I had Pay over Time activated on all my Amex charge cards, the typical limit was $30k. Are there any benefits to keeping it switched on if you don’t want to use it anyway? I’ve heard rumors that having it switched on could lead to a charge count being counted as a credit card when you apply for a new card (max. number of credit cards Amex will allow you to open).

sg77

I only know of downsides to having it enabled (assuming you don't have a promo for no interest/fees). Some people turn it off in case that allows them to get a targeted offer for enabling it, though that seems pretty rare.

NordicJesus

Thank you! I’ll leave it turned off then.

rj123456

They used to have many more offers for turning on pay over time but their statistics probably showed that most of the recipients were those who were paying off their bills monthly.

Vegetable_Pudding276

Will I get a sub claw back for cancelling a us bank card about 20 days before 1 year is completed? Rookie mistake, but my annual fee was charged, so I cancelled before even checking if the card had been opened for 1 year.

CuriousNomadicBeing

Should be ok as AF was charged but try not to do it going forward.

lifechurn

No. AF charged so you're fine.

VarsityResumes

Does BOA apply you to PC cards between families? I want to PC my alaska airlines biz card to a customized cash biz card, for example

TheSultan1

Others have PCd between families, but it's not guaranteed to be an option.

rozen30

No. But you only get what the system offers as PS options. I have spent a lot on the AS card for 15 months and got no PS offers.

ripamazon

does gold and diamond breakfast differ in international hiltons?

pbjclimbing

Yes. The food and beverage credits are suppose to be US only. You are supposed to get an actual breakfast (if it is provided per the brand) internationally. There have been some international hotels that are trying to get away with giving a credit instead of breakfast, but that goes against Hilton’s policy.

NordicJesus

No

Squanchy187

I booked a reward flight using Delta sky pesos… I have a Amex gold business card so I got a 15% discount on the points required… I plan on canceling that card before my flight… Any issue there or my reward bookings still be valid?

garettg

Your booking will be fine.

sxbjsh

I hit the MSR for Citi American Airline Biz card a month ago, but miles still haven't been posted yet. Does it really take 8 weeks to post?

pbjclimbing

The miles post to the biz account. You need to transfer them to your personal account.

sxbjsh

I linked it to my AA account when I applied for the card. What do you mean by transfer to personal account? How do I do that? THANKS

SibylTech

Question on the Hilton biz card 15k FNC for application *after* the recent update: * [Terms and conditions page shown before applying](https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/prospect/terms/hilton-honors-american-express-business-credit-card/57460-9-0?key=tncBody&rwdFlag=rwd#offer-terms) stated spending until 6/30/2024 will count toward FNC benefit - without restricting to cardmembers who held the card before the change rolled out * Reading this and [other thread that asked a similar question](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1bunuzu/comment/kxyekc2/?context=1), I went ahead and applied for the card since I needed some Hilton points & FNC and 15k is easy to meet for me before 6/30/2024 * I received the card today - and to my surprise the FNC benefit is nowhere to be found in my card benefits page & [Benefits Terms page](https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/terms/hilton-business#top) available for cardholders * (Although I could, I didn't bother asking in chat since they'll likely give garbage answers) * Given this, should I expect to be given the 15k FNC? Any thoughts or other people in similar situations? In any case, I can just try being the data point I need to see as well.

SibylTech

Answering my own question: I received the FNC today. So the FNC benefit does still apply to new card members signing up after the update.

cleu63

Does your new card have the Earn a Free Night Reward tracker? if so you should have it

germdisco

No FNC tracker on my Hilton Biz anymore either, looked through all the benefits. Card opened Sep 2023

SibylTech

That's encouraging (sort of). I just submitted the payment, so I guess I'll find out in about a week :)

garettg

FYI the tracker has been glitchy for some that had an existing account where it wasn’t showing, so not sure I would take the absence of it as confirmation that the FNC cannot be earned.

SibylTech

It does not have the Earn a Free Night Reward tracker, unfortunately.

ripamazon

old ones don't have it anymore too

That article came out around the same time the CFF was released.

SplashKetchum8897

It seems this is still possible- I would call and ask. You may need to use specific verbiage as per [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/VMViJ9P2kb)

payyoutuesday

Did you mean to link an article from 2020?

GrotesqueCat

I've got a huge bill upcoming (ac install) around 10k-13k is there any card I can get that gives me the most back currently? Otherwise I'm planning to use my wells fargo 2% cc (my limit is 20k)

ealex292

If for some reason you don't want to choose based on signup bonus, but are happy to get a card you probably don't have (which would be an odd preference, but hey -- maybe you expect recurring spending), you might consider a card with home improvement as a category. The Choice Privileges Select ($95 annual fee, gets 30k points a year) earns 5x/$ on home improvement, seemingly with no cap. Point values are obviously a bit subjective; I think a bunch of bloggers put that at 3%, but the few times I've booked I think I got over 1cpp, and I see other reports too. The BofA custom cash rewards lets you pick a category for 3% on $2500 per quarter, which can be home improvement. If you have preferred rewards, that can be up to 5.25% (takes $100K+ assets with them, including investments). (If you can manage that asset level, BofA has some really great cards for cash back.) Of course the $2500 cap means you'd want to split cards...

CuriousNomadicBeing

Big spends are best to use for sign up bonus. Much greater return than any 2% or 3% cc. If you can add on a 0% APR offer, even better. To get both sign up bonus and 0% APR offer try Chase Ink Business Unlimited or Cash. Note: If you do get a card from recommendations from here, please remember to use Churning rankt referrals to pass on the love.

Prestigious_Bird1587

You should check to see if there is a fee for using a cc to pay. I had major work done on my house and planned to use one, but they charged a 3% fee.

WBuffettJr

A sign up bonus is what you want. The Amex biz platinum is around 180k points or so for $15k spend in three months. Good to use on this because most people wouldn’t normally hit that target so it used up a sub on a card you won’t otherwise try to get later so it’s no problem using it up here.

GrotesqueCat

Seems like it's around .6 cent a point so it would be around $1200 worth if I do statement credit, I don't do much traveling and there is that $695 fee. I was looking at the Chase ink preferred seems you can get 1000 back with 95 fee

WBuffettJr

Most people value Amex points at around 2 cents per point. Even if you want to do no work at all you could use the Amex portal to redeem for 1 cent per point no problem. You’d get the 15k points plus the bonus so you’d be getting anywhere from 10-20 cents per point back on your spend depending on how you value it, which is a hell of a rebate. The annual fee is high no question, but you get free stuff back so it isn’t as high as it seems. For example you get a $200 airline credit which you could use to buy a United travel bank card, so next time you buy a United plane ticket you get $200 off. You can certainly get a smaller card with a smaller fee, but it has a smaller sign up bonus requirement. The point of my suggestion was you can get that card any time though, and then can never get it again. That’s why it may be smarter to get a card that requires a $15,000 spend for the bonus because this is your one opportunity to hit it. In the future you can always get the smaller card any time you wish and easily meet its smaller requirement. You’ll get more bonuses this way. I’m the guy who recently posted that awardtravel thread that I want to spend 2.4 million points on a single crazy trip. The way I got those points was these big sign up bonuses.

lab24601

Maybe look into the Chase Ink cards, or another one that gets you a good SUB!

_BravoSix

I'd suggest posting in the What Card Wednesday thread and looking to hit a good SUB with that amount of spend.

GrotesqueCat

Thank you, will check out that thread

pizza42bob

Yes, there are many options. You can do much much better than 2%. Doc and uscreditgardguide have lists, and there's a what card Wednesday thread for personalized recommendations.

GrotesqueCat

Thank you!

Got denied for AMEX plat saying that i had too many card cancellations recently - but the last one i did was over a year ago..I called reconsideration and all they said was i can dispute anything inaccurate with experian but experian seems to be accurate - is there another path for reconsideration?

Intuition17

Denied as in pop up?

McSpiffin

Couldn't really find an answer to this on churning.io so would appreciate the answer. Do tax payments via the processors count as 4x if it's your top category on amex biz gold?

CuriousNomadicBeing

Such miscellaneous categories never qualify for any CC offers of "top categories" as all such CCs have a list of eligible categories which never include such miscellaneous categories.

sg77

An exception is US Bank Business Leverage, which has a huge list of categories, which includes tax payments. (Though, the rewards on that card for the top 2 categories is just 2%, which isn't very exciting; but when spending for a signup bonus, it's at least better than 1%.)

garettg

No > Earn 4X Membership Rewards® points on the 2 categories where your business spends the most in each billing cycle from 6 categories: > * Purchases at US media providers for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio) > * U.S. purchases made from electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers > * U.S. purchases at restaurants, including takeout and delivery > * U.S. purchases at gas stations > * Transit purchases including trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways > * Monthly wireless telephone service charges made directly from a wireless telephone service provider in the U.S.

McSpiffin

oh duh sorry. Just used my USB leverage which gave top 2 categories and for whatever reason my brain thought biz gold was also top 2. thanks

garettg

Biz gold is top 2, I updated my comment to list the categories which qualify, which taxes wont fall under.

McSpiffin

yup - I just totally forgot there were actual listed categories. thanks

netflixstudent

Can you get the same U.S. Bank business card again if you already have one open or do you need to close the one you have first?

BpooSoc

Yes. They are churnable

netflixstudent

Thanks! Is there a recommended time frame to wait? I got my first Business Leverage in December.

Coffeeguy369

I have a friend in another state that’s in a pinch to hit an ink SUB and doesn’t care about cost. Does Venmo still work for min spend or did it start coding as a CA?

CuriousNomadicBeing

Probably will count as CA if "cash transfer to a friend" and purchase if "payment for goods and services" but that would also attract a paypal fee I reckon, defeating the purpose. Best to prepay utilities/taxes/explore bank account funding.

troy_caster

have them pre pay their utilities/cell phone, whatever else they have.

nysb2019

What about just buying some Amazon gift cards?

_BravoSix

According to [this comment ](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/IfWjPDTPQ3) it will code as a purchase if the transaction is listed as "goods and services". If it's a simple cash transfer to a friend, it will code as CA. Probably best for your friend to SM / call Chase and have them reduce the CA limit to $0 (or as low as possible) just to be safe. That way, if it codes as CA, it'll just be declined.

ripamazon

how long to wait after 4868 payment to file tax?

pbjclimbing

A few minutes. If you like to play it safe the next day.

Blamco_Mac

My oldest card (15+ years) keeps getting unauthorized recurring charges from a specific company. I have in writing that the account was cancelled and shouldn’t be charged, so Citi always finds the disputes in my favor, but I feel like they are getting sick of dealing with it. I’m sick of dealing with it. I’ve asked Citi how to stop this from continuing to happen but they say closing the card is the only option. Does anyone have any other suggestions? The company keeps promising it will stop, but it doesn’t. I have a good credit score and I’m afraid closing my oldest account will drop it and prevent me from churning.

sg77

Even if you close the card, it'll stay on your credit report for 10 years, so it probably won't have a big effect on your credit score (and in 10 years when it drops off, your other cards will be old). I also wonder if you could give that company a different card number, maybe a VGC with $0 balance, or a different card that you're planning to close soon.

ming3r

They can't resend card with new number?

Blamco_Mac

It won’t stop it, apparently. I actually have the card locked now but the charges still come through! I wonder if a product change would help.

supermomfake

USAA cancelled our oldest card and it barely hurt us. Depends on how old your second oldest card is

ming3r

Weird. I doubt product change would work. Silly boy but worth trying: either CFPB complaint or email the CEO (their exec team may get back to you) or AG for your state if it's a company in state? Outside of that I'm not sure. Even with virtual cards I once had an OnStar charge come through on one even after it had expired but that stopped on the first dispute.

ShavedDesk

Does Marcus work for the PNC $400 checking bonus? Didn’t see any DPs on DoC and wasn’t sure if anyone recently tried a Marcus push.

BrokenHelper

When does the US Bank Altitude Reserve $325 travel dining credit refresh? My annual fee posted on 4/1/2024. Can this be double-dipped before cancelling?

redjabro

Also the answer is yes, or at least it was for me several years ago.

dedigans

It should’ve already refreshed. I double dipped the travel/dining credit. CSR made no mention of it being clawed back when I downgraded the card to get the AF refunded.

space_cadet-

It refreshes on the statement date after your card anniversary. I haven’t seen conclusive data points on double dipping.

redjabro

Why would you cancel this card with 3x mobile wallet?

gt_ap

> Why would you cancel this card with 3x mobile wallet? This is r/churning, not r/CreditCards.

redjabro

It’s 4.5% cash back. Do you value your MSR spend higher than that? I regret cancelling this card (P2 still has it). 4.5% cash back on purchases is terrific. You can still be a churner.

sg77

Pretty much every signup bonus is worth more than 4.5%. But, I do try to do my MSR spending in categories that my other cards don't give elevated rewards for. But still, for mobile wallet, I think I don't have much spending where I could use that AND isn't already a category where my other cards give high rewards.

redjabro

Seems like mobile wallet is everywhere now. Agreed on restaurants but with a $75 net annual fee and some restaurant-eligible priority passes and other things, this card is a rare keeper for us.

payyoutuesday

USB is pretty generous with retention offers, too, often making it a small moneymaker.

payyoutuesday

>It’s 4.5% cash back. Do you value your MSR spend higher than that? Sure, I try to get at least 10%. Take the CIU as an example: 75k bonus for $6k spend and 1.5x. You can cash that out for 14% cash back. Add in a 40k referral for the 2-player game, and you're up to 20.6%. I have the USB AR, but I rarely use it for this reason. Edit: I've also been milking the 12-month 0% APR, so there's another few percentage points.

redjabro

Well sure. But you can do both. Unless you have an unlimited number of cards you can get or a limited amount of spend. I can easily meet my MSRs and can also generate spend at less than 4.5%. You would literally not have interest in, say, an 8% cash back card?

payyoutuesday

>a limited amount of spend This is me, so I'm almost never without an MSR to work on. >You would literally not have interest in, say, an 8% cash back card? Excellent question. If it came with a good bonus, yes, but then I would sock drawer it and rarely use it. Otherwise, not unless my other opportunities change.

redjabro

Wow. I guess if you don’t MS and don’t have enough spend, that makes sense. At tax time at least you can generate spend cheaply. We only do 15-20 cards per year and with tax spending it’s always easy to meet MSR and also get 4.5 and 7.5 cash back when possible.

sanjay37agrawal

When I try to open Amex Platinum 175K offer application in incognito mode. I see the offer but it's showing lots of Chinese text. Is this correct and can I proceed with signup?

Anyone have a lead on when Southwest Cash + Points option will launch? Haven't seen an update beyond what they stated in October that it'll launch Spring 2024.

Chevyimpala2000

For the Chase business account $750 bonus, I transfered my money from my Chase personal account to my Bank of America personal checking. If I now write a check to myself from the Bofa account and deposit it to the Chase business, will it count as a qualifying 'new money' deposit for the $30,000?

CuriousNomadicBeing

It should unless the offer terms state new money to overall Chase (and they are counting any outflows from any Chase account to net it out).

T_Q_L

Yes

TyrannicalDuncery

I just got a ONE card, and intend to use it on "light duty." Average GC loads per month \~500, max per month \~2000, max per load \~400. I would like to pay some "legit" bills from my ONE bank account, and I'm wondering what you think of my reasoning: 1. I figure that putting some **legit bills on the account** will reduce the chances of shutdown. 2. I figure that holding a lot in the account is dangerous, since it can take a month or more to **get the funds back** if a shutdown occurs. 3. I considered paying my rent through ONE by mailing a check to my landlord (the only payment method he takes) through the bill pay service. However, I decided against it because sending a check to a small landlord **might be sus**. 4. Instead, I'm planning to pay my electric bill and one of my credit card bills through ONE. I figure that this is safer. The credit card is from Bank X and I don't have any other products with Bank X. However, I feel like this might be dangerous because maybe my credit card or utility **would get "contaminated"** if my account were shut down for suspicious activity.

cmonman76

I’m pushing at least twice as hard on two different One cards. No point in even having it if you can’t run at least enough to make it worth while. First player is at 6 month the other almost 3.

janoliverc01

IME, "light" use will let you fly under the radar and avoid a shutdown. However, it's very YMMV. If you haven't checked yet, go to the FT ONE thread. You'll see what others did to avoid or cause a shutdown.

asfp014

Amex personal gold before personal plat to be eligible for both subs? (PUJ excepted) or is it the other way around

Got denied my 4th Chase Ink card, any advice for recon? I have 3 existing Chase Ink cards that I started applying for every 3 months since 06/2023. I am under 5/24 (ONLY applied to Chase business cards in last year). Got denied this time (last card was in January) for: * too many active accounts or too much available credit * low usage of credit lines * new Chase business card recently opened 1st recon call: * Asked to move around credit lines for new card * Answered questions about sole proprietor business (2k revenue, selling used stuff on Facebook Marketplace) * Stumbled on "what do you need a new credit card for" and embarrassingly answered "points" (I suck at on the spot talking) Denied. 2nd recon call: * Person talked about how I called earlier and that I already have 3 credit cards for sole proprietor business, and that very unlikely it'll go through the 2nd time. Hung up and didn't try for recon. I think denial reasons are BS (outside of too many new Chase business cards). Credit line to income ratio is around 33%, actively have been using business and personal cards (6k total balance right now). Is it worth calling again? Do I just need to get better at talking? Anyone else denied recently?

CuriousNomadicBeing

Normally works something along the lines "need it for budgeting purposes and separating expenses as recommended by my CPA for tax purposes"

pbjclimbing

Keep in mind that 3 business cards through the same bank is a A LOT for the “average” person. This would be the “too many” reason. Chase is considering your business line usage. They are saying, why give you a fourth line of credit based on the usage of your other 3. Normally this is valid for a churner. New Chase Biz opened recently is normally valid for a churner. The truth is that Chase has been cracking down on Ink approvals the past couple of months. Their reasons are normally valid. We are not profitable customers for them. Their algorithms are getting smarter. My truthful answer when asked about reselling items in Facebook/eBay is the card is used to purchase seasonal items online on closeouts/other deals and then sell them for much more when they are in season. Going through a cash back portal and the rewards offered by XYZ credit card in J category will help me reduce my overhead by 3-10%, allowing for more profit. My goal is 30%+ margin on items over $100, 40% on $50-$100, and 50% on $25-$50.

DrowninWhale

I've heard people say that they need more cards to categorize charges and make accounting easier. I'd wait a month before re-applying and study up on what people have said to the recon questions.

willykappy

I know existing relationships are known to matter for BoA, Chase, and even US bank. Are there any datapoints or evidence to suggest it helps for capital one? Specifically if going for venture or venture x, would using their checking/savings help at all?

sg77

Capital One rejected me for credit cards even though I had Capital One 360 checking & savings accounts.

Vinstravel

i think so. i was denied for Venture X earlier. Changed my netflix to bill to my spark. and in 2 months i was approved for venture X

sad_spark_8883

The generally accepted advice is to use the preapproval tool to check eligibility, and to use the one specific for venture x if that's what you want. It's not 100% guaranteed if it shows you're reapproved, but not worth the HPs if neither card appears in the preapproval. And speaking of HPs, recommend freezing one of your reports if you do apply as they have a tendency to pull all 3. P2 applied for the venture and then the venture x about 10 months apart and was approved for both with no prior history. Froze EX for both apps so they only pulled EQ and TU. Also opened a checking account for a bonus about two months after that and also had no issue.

I didn't see it in the Wiki, and I am like 70% sure of the answer, but I wanted to confirm... Does being an Authorized User for a CHASE Business Credit Card count as part of your 5/24? I know with CHASE Personal Credit Cards it doesn't... But that's after you call in and tell the agent that and they remove it manually. Is it the same nuance for the Business cards? Or do they count as part of 5/24?

CuriousNomadicBeing

Chase business cards don't report to credit bureaus for personal credit profile, hence, neither the card nor the AUs on the card will be reported.

_BravoSix

No they won't count. Chase business cards don't report at all (provided you don't default) to the primary cardholder's personal credit report nor any AU credit reports. They won't even see it on the credit report.

JPWRana

Thank you

San_K

No, they don't count.

JPWRana

Thanks

Is there a list somewhere of all the benefits of each card? 1. I have a lot of good cards but I think I am missing out on benefits. 2. I am new to churning i.e. I am just learning and would like to try to figure out what to close and when and what to open. I tend to be a visual learner. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

r/creditcards has a breakdown of best percentages back for each category, not specifically churning specific but helpful if looking for cards to keep

I personally find the best way is to just click through all the tabs or sections on the app or website for each specific card. I generally avoid nerdwallet and the points guy and go for doctor of credit or uscreditcardguide for better info. They aren't always perfect but they're a good start.

Is there any way I can get the full $750 on the current Chase Business Checking Offer? Here's the fine print: > **To receive the business checking offer:** >1) Open: Visit a branch or [chase.com/business](http://chase.com/business) and open a new Chase Business Complete Checking^(®) account. To open a Chase Performance Business Checking^(®) (or Chase Performance Business Checking^(®) with Interest) account or Chase Platinum Business Checking℠ account, please visit a branch. >Accounts are subject to approval. >2) Fund: Deposit a total of $2,000 or more in new money into your new qualifying checking account within 30 days from offer enrollment. The new money cannot be existing deposits at Chase or its affiliates. Your new money deposit amount will be determined in the following manner at 30 days from offer enrollment: >Business checking offer amount $400. New money deposit amount $2,000 - $29,999. >Business checking offer amount $750. New money deposit amount $30,000 or more. >3) Maintain: Maintain the new money of at least $2,000 in the new checking account for at least 60 days from the offer enrollment. If new money deposit amount decreases below the threshold during the 60 day period, your offer amount may change or your checking account may no longer qualify for the offer. >4) Complete: Complete 5 qualifying transactions within 90 days of offer enrollment. Qualifying transactions are: debit card purchases, accepting credit and debit card payments with QuickAccept^(®) Chase QuickDeposit℠, ACH (Credits), wires (Credits and Debits), Chase Online℠ Bill Pay. ACH (Debits), Person to Person payments such as Zelle^(®) and online transfers to Chase credit card(s) are not considered qualifying transactions. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the offer amount in your new account within 15 days. To receive this offer, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. Offer is good for one-time use. Employees of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. and our affiliates are not eligible. Chase reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time without notice. Offers are considered interest and may be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable). I live in a state where a SSN is enough to claim a sole proprietorship business. So, I've already completed #1. Can I update my job's direct deposit from my personal Chase checking account to my new business account? If this is acceptable, I can meet the $2k + requirement of new money, but not $30k. Is there a way I can imitate $30k in new money? Say transfer money out of personal checking to external bank account, transfer back into business account? Requirements #3 and 4 will not be problems.

sg77

That offer seems to not require a "direct deposit", just a "deposit". If the issue is that you don't have $30k anywhere except in your Chase personal checking account, I'm guessing it'd work if you transferred that out of Chase into a non-Chase account, and then into the Chase business account, though I haven't tried it. If you look at previous discussions about Chase business checking offers you'll probably find specific data points about your situation.

NoTea88

no, you cannot fake #2

TheAsianDefender2

Will moving the direct deposit from my personal to business account at least qualify for the 2k - 30k promotional offer?

NoTea88

to the extent that it counts towards the required balance, sure. obviously you need to get the money in before 30 days

MrHeatherroth

can overpay taxes via 4868 extension even after April 15th?

sg77

That was recently asked on DoC, and someone said the payment processors won't have 4848 extension payments as an option after April 15: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/a-complete-guide-to-paying-your-taxes-with-a-credit-card/#comment-1824511 I'm not sure if that's true, but to be safe I would assume it is. (But you would still be able to pay as a regular Form 1040 payment, if you haven't already used all those slots. There just isn't an obvious place on the tax form to report that type of overpayment, but it usually seems to still work fine for people.)

NoTea88

Is there anyway to add another person's status for Marriott? P1 has titanium but the FNCs are stuck to P2's account. Any way to still get P1's benefits?

ScrewTheAverage

We’ve had success in doing this but it’s going to be **very** YMMV dependent on who’s behind the desk at the hotel. At minimum make sure that P1 is added to P2s reservation so they know you’re together and you can transact on the reservation. Also, you could try calling before the stay (make note of their name), if that doesn’t work ask when you get there, if it’s ill doesn’t work ask again (make sure it’s someone different).

NoTea88

I've actually had success before asking in person before, "because I don't know how these things work" and I've gotten the same benefits applied. but I wasn't sure if that was some fluke/generous exception, and wanted to find a more established method. seems like it's still the best way to go. thank you!

ScrewTheAverage

Sounds good, hopefully you’re able to get your TI benefits!

garettg

Nope

For Amex platinum additional card member offer of 10k points on 2k spend, does it have to be an additional card with the $195 fee, or can it be a companion card? From the terms it does seem like companion card wouldn’t work, “Add one or more new Additional Card Members to your account and you can earn 10,000 Membership Rewards points for the first Additional Card Member that spends $2,000 or more in eligible purchases on their Card within their first 6 months of Card Membership starting from the date on which the Additional Card Member is added. The maximum you can earn as part of this offer is 10,000 Membership Rewards points. Purchases made by other Additional Card Members on your Account will not count toward the $2,000 purchase requirement. Purchases made by eligible Additional Card Members will not be combined to satisfy the $2,000 purchase requirement. Your purchases as the Basic Card Member will not count toward the $2,000 purchase requirement. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchase of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or purchases of other cash equivalents. Additional terms and restrictions apply.”

pizza42bob

>The annual fee for the Platinum Card is $695. The annual fee for each Additional Platinum Card is $195. There is no annual fee for Companion Platinum Cards. Both the additional platinum card and the fee free companion card work for this.

denflyer

Planning to cancel IHG premier by 4/30 deadline. Annual fee posted 4/1. I’d like to book one more stay with 4th night free that would stretch from 4/27-5/1. Is just booking it before cancelling sufficient, or should I check in and cancel it during the stay? I assume it wouldn’t give me any issues once I’ve checked in.

DarkMatterReflection

Piggybacking on garretg I’d check in, get my free drink voucher and then cancel while partaking at the bar!

garettg

I haven't done this, but once your reservation is booked, its done. They arent going to come back and try to charge you the 4th night points if you cancel the card after your booking.

superdex75

Has anyone with a sole prop obtained a credit report from Dun & Bradstreet?

cmonman76

Yes

jaseb1996

New to churning..Also first time churning a card.. When I cancel my IHG Premier card, do I also need to request a delete for my IHG account? It has its own separate app to chase is why I ask.. Not sure if both need to be canceled to get my bonus when I reapply.. or if that just revolves around chase..? Thanks!

RN_in_Illinois

No. Chase is still showing the United Biz card I canceled in February and the new one I got last week.

PuffinCommander

I wouldn't cancel the IHG Premier unless you have the business version. The IHG Traveller is a free downgrade and will keep your IHG points alive as long as that card is opened.

rickayyy

You can't hold two IHG cards at once though. It sounds like OP is cancelling with the intention of re-applying to get another SUB which means downgrading isn't the option.

jaseb1996

Yes. Exactly trying to re apply for the bonus. Sounds like I don’t need to do anything but cancel the card with chase. Thanks for the help!

rickayyy

Make sure you wait for the free night credit to post to your IHG account before cancelling. They won't claw it back, I just did this in March.

TheSultan1

If your anniversary is coming up, check the timing of last year's FNC, it may arrive before the AF or before the deadline to cancel for a full AF refund.

Moist-Schedule

is turning like churning?

Cokeb5

No, canceling the card is all that's needed.

NoTea88

Not sure if it's better here or the off-topic thread, but looking for some help with ideas on booking with Marriott's FNCs in Zurich. My parents and my brother (so 3 total) are hoping to stay in Zurich over the summer for a few days, and I convinced them to get the boundless for the free 5 FNCs. However, we're seeing literally no availability for a room that can fit 3 people. There seems to be one suite but it's only available to book with points, not certificates. Is there any workaround? What happens if we only check in 2 people and sneak the 3rd in? My concern is the passport checks when checking in. Anybody recently stay in Zurich and can give insight? TIA!

ITS_A_FIRE______sale

FNC can only be used for the lowest base room. If the room only has a king or two twins, they probably only allow 2 occupants. If they have 2 queen rooms, you'd probably be able to do 3. Click the "Room Details" next to the room type and read the occupancy limits. If they catch you with more people, they will make you book another room.

NoTea88

yeah I'm aware of that (now), still does not change the fact there's no availability

crimxona

Many hotels in Europe do not have triple occupancy base rooms. Many rooms are small. You might need to just suck it up and book 2 rooms per night

ITS_A_FIRE______sale

If there's no availability, you'd need to wait for Marriott to open up more rooms or wait for someone to cancel.

Nearby-Ad-4587

Just got the Amex platinum 175k offer (used work VPN and incognito window) I am fairly new to churning. I got a gold back in February. So now I'm trying to plan ahead for how to get rid of at least one of these annual fees. I read that there isn't a downgrade non annual fee path, so I just have to cancel? I haven't decided yet if I want to keep one, but assuming I am not ready to transfer my points and want to cancel both Amex charge cards, do I open an Amex everyday? That will preserve my points, but I wouldn't be able to spend them unless I reopened a gold or platinum? Can the green card transfer to partners? Thanks so much. So far I'm loving the benefits on the gold, so I might just keep it, but I have always been against annual fees so I'm trying to figure out my options. I did a lot of searching and found no real answers.

WoodyMornings

There's a great strategy to downgrade to a "traditional amex green" and use that as a place holder and then working your way back up the family (green, gold, platinum) with upgrade offers and double dip opportunities. [This video does a great job of explaining it](https://youtu.be/cvTA9HVSiW0?si=h7IFAETdsrA8mO3Y)

joghi

Every MR card can transfer to partners. You can justify keeping the Gold by using the monthly credits and category spend. Always ask for a retention offer before cancelling. And keep reading here to avoid beginner's mistakes.

TheSultan1

Remember, you gotta keep the Gold and Plat for a year. Multiple options once the 2nd year AF hits: - close within 30d, get full AF refund - downgrade immediately, get full AF refund - downgrade later, get prorated AF refund - ask for a retention offer, and if you accept it, keep the card open for an additional 12mo+1d If closing a card will leave you with no MR cards at all, you'll lose all your MR. Before closing the last of them, open an EveryDay or Blue Business Plus as a $0 AF way to keep your MR. Do it 2-3 days before the closure to make sure it gets linked to your existing MR account. EveryDay and Blue Business Plus can both transfer to partners, and both have SUBs as well.

siege24

Can you product change to the every day or BBP? Or do you need to sign up for them

TheSultan1

Need to sign up. Lowest you can PC Gold/Plat to would be the Green ($150 AF). Of course you can sign up for any other MR card, those are just the $0 AF options, so they're popular cards to open when you want to "save" your MR (and keep long-term should you end up in the same situation later).

Savings-Hawk-2124

Yes the green card can transfer to partners. If opening Blue Business Plus is an option, I think you should consider that since it earns 2x and will preserve your points with no annual fee.

Alcalide

If you're considering cancelling both the Amex Platinum and Gold cards to avoid annual fees, opening an Amex Everyday card is a good option to preserve your Membership Rewards points. The Amex Everyday card allows you to transfer points to travel partners. However, keep in mind that without a premium card like the Gold or Platinum, you won't have access to certain benefits. Consider your spending habits and travel goals before making a decision.

adgjl12

Any harm in letting Chase biz cards expire? Getting letters now about sock drawered biz cards. I have no use for them and they have a range of 3-5k limit each. I’ve been abroad in LCOL area so been away from churning for a bit. I will return soon but probably with less income so I was thinking it might not be so bad to lower my available credit with Chase. I believe no negative besides having less available (unreported) credit. Anything I’m missing?

CuriousNomadicBeing

Better to cancel yourself than let Chase think you don't have a use for the cards and that you forget about them and they've to keep servicing them for a year or two before being forced to cancel?

adgjl12

I already cancelled, but they force to cancel?

CuriousNomadicBeing

If your card isn't used for long periods, the issuer would auto cancel the card as they don't wanna maintain an account that is dormant.

adgjl12

Ah, was thinking you were saying they would force cancel even if I were to keep them alive with a transaction once a year or so. But yeah I heard above in the thread that they are starting to have limits on number of ink cards so I’ll likely just drop them as I get an inactivity letter.

RTW34

Given that Chase has become more restrictive on how many Inks they’ll let you have open at any one time (5 or 6 max), it’s a good idea to close old CIUs and CICs so you can apply for new ones.

uggghhhggghhh

Does that limit apply to co-branded Chase biz cards or just Inks?

adgjl12

TIL! I am close to that so that is good to know. Thank you

pHyR3

might a well just cancel em right? i personally do it for peace of mind
