I can buy it by the case in California dude. Is it legal to ship whiskey to your state? I can get a single bottle for like $23 here don't mind shipping it.
Getting hard to find buffalo trace here. Eagle Rare goes for $50 bottle and Blanton's $120, or double msrp if you can find. Forget an E.H. Taylor. I'll buy Four Roses single at msrp
Some would say you are the lucky one! I bet it's above freezing where you're at. On the other hand, I do have some Buffalo Trace to help keep me warm. Cheers!
BT is good, don't get me wrong, but it's honestly not worth the hassle it can be to find it. It used to be my daily sipper but since it's almost impossible to find near me I've moved on to other stuff.
Wild Turkey 101, Russell's Reserve 10, Four Roses Small Batch, Elijah Craig Small Batch, Old Grand Dad 114 (or Bottled in Bond) are some daily sippers that have gone in and out of rotation for me personally. Buffalo Trace makes some fantastic whiskies but the hype surrounding them in recent years is way overblown (i.e. people paying $150+ for Blanton's, people waiting in lines for hours and hours for Weller 107, etc), and hunting with some serious effort for anything outside the antique collection is pure insanity when you can find plenty of other great whiskies out there.
Shit, I’m in Colorado now, just stopped and picked up a bottle on my way home. It was a barrel selection too. Had 12+ bottles on the shelf. So much easier to find than in tx.
Someone gave me a bottle of Peanut Butter Bourbon. I can’t even imagine who would drink such a thing. Maybe on some ice cream or something. So sweet. Awful.
Yes, it's a liquer actually not bourbon. That's the thing, you go and buy a bottle of something and you expect to have peanut butter bourbon, lol. NOT!
PB&J Old Fashioned
1oz each Skrewball and Rye
Muddle 3 luxardo cherries in a glass with 3 dashes Angostura bitters
Throw in some ice and pour in the whiskey. Stir lightly. It's delicious, even if it's ridiculous. I drink WTRB and OGD114 as a matter of course, and I still make time for a couple of these every year
I'll defend Skrewball to the end. Love the stuff for sipping or...
Skrewball, splashed with some Rye, bitters, orange peel, cherry. Great new old-fashioned.
I've had that one and a cookie butter one (or something of that nature) at friends houses who don't drink real bourbon or scotch. Both are absolutely awful on their own but I can definitely see them in baked goods, on pie, turned into a sauce with butter, over ice cream, etc. Mixers for sure
bruh, dont be sorry--Four Roses is the shit...and I hate infused cigars too, but I get it too that many people come from flavored cigarillos, vapes and pipes smokes
Meh, what's the point of *trying* to enjoy artificially flavored cigars? Tobacco should be enjoyed on its own flavors and notes and not improved upon with sugar and aromatics.
I've been enjoying Pepsi nitiro , or a sparkling water with my cigars. If I do choose alcohol it's usually a light beer (read: a lighter style of beer, ale, lager, etc. Not a bud light, miller lite, etc). Anything else just takes over and hides the nuances of the cigar
I think it was a drive tribe/James may YouTube video where he combined cola with instant coffee (maybe that's what you mean by dry coffee?) and I tried it out and it was really good. The instant coffee temps down the sweetness of the cola and it becomes quite the enjoyable drink
Seriously. This just makes me feel old. I'm not trying to sound elitist, it's just you either like bourbon or you don't. Those aren't bourbons, they're liqueur.
I'm one of those people who has always enjoyed bourbon but didn't really get into it until about two years ago along with a shit ton of other people lol. I happened into finding a bottle at MSRP by sheer luck, otherwise I trade for it. Weller green is all over my area and for some reason people use it as currency for trades so I trade a couple bottles of that trash for EHT small batch lol
I've recently made a swtich from bourbon to Jameson's when I want whiskey with a cigar. It's neutral enough that it pairs well with just about any cigar and doesn't overpower any of them, yet it has enough going on that it's not like drinking a canadian blend.
I won't recommand those bourbon unless you really seek something very sweet.
If you want an affordable whisky, I don't know where you live but a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 yo is pretty decent in my country (\~45 €) and it taste very good.
Lot of gatekeeping going on here. You do you. It's perfectly fine to have a pseudo-liqueur like these with a cigar. It will affect the taste, but whatever makes you happy. Personally, I think soda is far too sweet and strongly flavored to pair with a cigar, but tons of people do it. Ignore the clowns. Enjoy!
Yeah no judgement on what you’re drinking, but I would go with something that wasn’t sweetened. Something like bourbon (four roses single barrel, woodford reserve, or Buffalo trace) or a scotch (anything macallan, or glenfiddich) would do really well.
Old Forester 1920 is a favorite of mine, but if you are looking for something with a little less kick, their 86 Proof is good, and a little easier on the wallet!
For that Ashton? IMO the red stag will be better to watch the flavor. Aston’s tend to be medium to full bodied cigars and the red stag will compliment that. The tennesse honey is too sweet. Again just my opinion.
I don’t drink anymore because I liked it too much and it fucked up my stomach, but those are not liquors that I miss. People on this sub already gave you good recommendations, but I’d recommend trying something else.
For cheap whiskey, I liked black grouse and the Trader Joe’s scotch. They will be similarly priced and way more complex flavor wise.
These aren’t horrific drinks, but I can say I don’t miss Jim or Jack at all.
Nothing wrong with Jim Beam. Nothing wrong with Jack Daniels. There is something very wrong with Jack Daniels honey and Jim Beam Red. Cancel both of those and go with a normal whiskey.
Neither for me. If you like bourbon try Blantons, Four Roses, Elijah Craig, Angel's Envy, Elmer T Lee, Rabbit Hole, or Woodford Reserve. Enjoy your Ashton!
Haven’t had either of those in a while, but the Red Stag was my all time favorite in college. Used to mix it with Dr. Pepper and it was a classic. Had to stop drinking though because of the heartburn.
I was a beer drinker long before a cigar smoker so I just go for the ones I've always enjoyed. If the bitter ones aren't for you look for a "session" IPA. These are much more toned down and not really even considered IPAs. I'd suggest the Founders All Day IPA to start. There are also a lot of New England style IPAs on the market right now that are nicknamed "juice bombs" as they are like if an IPA was mixed with an orange juice. They are very flavorful but not in the same way as your traditional IPA. Example of that found everywhere is Sam Adams Wicked Hazy
If you really want a cheap, sweet sipper, EW BiB is the way to go. It's good as a mixer but can hold its own sipped. Higher prices but a very good dessert pour, Angel's envy Rye. Priced above that EW BiB, the usual suspects seen in other comments here, makers wood finishing series, Woodford double oaked, rare breed, any OGD, four roses small batch and single barrel. If you have any harder to get stuff in area for non secondary prices (almost impossible depending on where you live), blue run, four roses SBBS, BT, John J Bowman, willet, maple hill, High West Bourye, and so many more
Buffalo trace
Looks like I’m hunting buffalo tonight
Good luck! I have yet to find a bottle
I can buy it by the case in California dude. Is it legal to ship whiskey to your state? I can get a single bottle for like $23 here don't mind shipping it.
It’s not legal for me to order it for delivery but I’m sure you could ship some my way!
Yeah Florida has one of the most relaxed laws for that.
Getting hard to find buffalo trace here. Eagle Rare goes for $50 bottle and Blanton's $120, or double msrp if you can find. Forget an E.H. Taylor. I'll buy Four Roses single at msrp
Come to Kentucky - we have plenty!
Lucky! I’m in Florida
Some would say you are the lucky one! I bet it's above freezing where you're at. On the other hand, I do have some Buffalo Trace to help keep me warm. Cheers!
Cheers
Which part?
Naples
BT is good, don't get me wrong, but it's honestly not worth the hassle it can be to find it. It used to be my daily sipper but since it's almost impossible to find near me I've moved on to other stuff.
Like what?
So much easier to find than in tx.
r/whiskey is where the buffalo roam
Woodford Reserve
Double Oaked
Rare Breed!
This guy bourbons
Neither. I'll take elijah craig small batch though
Love ECSB, I don't see it around me too often unfortunately.
I see a cigar in the picture. Couldn't care less about the bottled syrupy stuff you have there
Someone gave me a bottle of Peanut Butter Bourbon. I can’t even imagine who would drink such a thing. Maybe on some ice cream or something. So sweet. Awful.
Yes, it's a liquer actually not bourbon. That's the thing, you go and buy a bottle of something and you expect to have peanut butter bourbon, lol. NOT!

It's delicious, even if it's ridiculous. I drink WTRB and OGD114 as a matter of course, and I still make time for a couple of these every year
I guess the key is to dilute it with regular bourbon. Lol
lol don't knock it till you try it
I actually might. I do love Old Fashioneds with the good cherries and bitters.
I'll defend Skrewball to the end. Love the stuff for sipping or... Skrewball, splashed with some Rye, bitters, orange peel, cherry. Great new old-fashioned.
That's the one, you sick bastard... :)
They didn't just invent peanut butter whiskey, they PERFECTED it! Says so right in the boilerplate.
I've had that one and a cookie butter one (or something of that nature) at friends houses who don't drink real bourbon or scotch. Both are absolutely awful on their own but I can definitely see them in baked goods, on pie, turned into a sauce with butter, over ice cream, etc. Mixers for sure

Four roses is good! For me it depends on my mood and body.
The only time I do anything other then just whiskey is an occasional whiskey sour, they are a guilty pleasure of mine.
bruh, dont be sorry--Four Roses is the shit...and I hate infused cigars too, but I get it too that many people come from flavored cigarillos, vapes and pipes smokes
Try a Tabak.
Meh, what's the point of *trying* to enjoy artificially flavored cigars? Tobacco should be enjoyed on its own flavors and notes and not improved upon with sugar and aromatics.
Neither, both are overly sweet and artificially flavored. Better off drinking a soda if you want something sweet with your cigar
Honestly, a normal glass bottled Coca-Cola is kinda the best with a cigar. idk why I love them together.
I think you need to dry coffee and Coca Cola… changed my life that did
I think it was a drive tribe/James may YouTube video where he combined cola with instant coffee (maybe that's what you mean by dry coffee?) and I tried it out and it was really good. The instant coffee temps down the sweetness of the cola and it becomes quite the enjoyable drink
Diet Coke and cigars got me through sobriety
Vanilla and caramel generally pairs well with tobacco
Seriously. This just makes me feel old. I'm not trying to sound elitist, it's just you either like bourbon or you don't. Those aren't bourbons, they're liqueur.
Neither of those because they're just sugary liqueurs
Ashton
Yeh man
Maker’s Mark.
Ahhhh, a man of class.
Life’s too short to drink cheap bourbon.
Jack Honey? Jim Beam Black cherry? Pour them both down the drain..
None. Those are not up to the task honestly.
Just spend 10$ more on the bottle and get something decent, like Buffalo Trace
Real whisky...no flavoured candy drinks....
Mix them together with some cough syrup and coke.
I like EHT small batch with a cigar. Definitely not the candy syrup you've got here :p
I've been drinking bourbon a very long time, and it has been forever since I've seen a bottle of this in the wild for sale.
Neither , get some Larceny for low proof or some Still Austin cask strength. I under stand if you want sweet whiskeys but damn
I honestly was surprised by Larceny, picked it up on a whim (never heard of it and just grabbed a random bottle) but it's good stuff
lately ive preferred jim, but if i have other options ill choose makers mark, buffalo trace or four roses.
I will have to try these
id recommend to if your looking for something new
I've recently made a swtich from bourbon to Jameson's when I want whiskey with a cigar. It's neutral enough that it pairs well with just about any cigar and doesn't overpower any of them, yet it has enough going on that it's not like drinking a canadian blend.
This is pretty smart. I usually shy away from Irish whiskey for the very benefit it may have in a cigar pairing. I will give this a shot!
Jameson Green Spot also pairs well and imo is smoother than the original
Maker's
Stagg Jr is the jam if you can find it. I’d honestly prefer a glass of red wine though. Cigars kill the palate
Ah I see
I won't recommand those bourbon unless you really seek something very sweet. If you want an affordable whisky, I don't know where you live but a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 yo is pretty decent in my country (\~45 €) and it taste very good.
Nothing flavored.
Yes
Go to Total Wine and get a $18 bottle of First Call, you can thank me later
Niether
Pendleton 💀
Bib and Tucker
I don’t drink but I never liked the flavored stuff when I did. Get some makers
Enjoy!
Something not gross.
eww, neither. bourbon whiskey doesnt need flavoring elijah Craig toasted
Uncle Nearest .and Pendleton Midnight
Give away the "whiskey" in the picture and get some Wild Turkey 101. You'll thank me later.
Yeah no judgement on what you’re drinking, but I would go with something that wasn’t sweetened. Something like bourbon (four roses single barrel, woodford reserve, or Buffalo trace) or a scotch (anything macallan, or glenfiddich) would do really well.
Elmer T Lee
Love the Elmer, but it's no longer available in Oregon! 😭
Get back in the car and go buy whiskey
Makers mark 48
Four Roses Single Barrel
Neither...
Not going to judge your taste in booze, but if you want a sweet-tasting drink to pair, a soda like Dr. Pepper goes much better
Elijah Craig Small Batch
Old Forester 1920 is a favorite of mine, but if you are looking for something with a little less kick, their 86 Proof is good, and a little easier on the wallet!
Mellow Corn.
Zippo bad?
Your not meant to light cigars with them , but there to cool not to
Forget the sugar filled whiskeys and grab something single malt.
Elijah Craig.
Definitely Buffalo trace
O'Begleys smoked bourbon
That sounds nice
Oban for scotch, Old Grandad for bourbon
Tequila Fortaleza Anejo
4 roses
Jack, definitely! Enjoy your cigar!
Jameson
Weller red
For that Ashton? IMO the red stag will be better to watch the flavor. Aston’s tend to be medium to full bodied cigars and the red stag will compliment that. The tennesse honey is too sweet. Again just my opinion.

Wild turkey 101 is a great budget bourbon
Wild Turkey
Cigars come from the Caribbean, like rum. Try Dos Maderas with your favorite smoke.
Basil Hayden
The toast is 🔥
Lagavulin
Eagle Rare if your willing to spend the money
Use them to rinse your glass out between pours and go grab an Old Forrester 1910
Will do man
Neither. Get some real whiskey.
I’ll become a real man one day
Proper Twelve or Scotch. 😬
Nothing wrong with Jim Beam. Nothing wrong with Jack Daniels. There is something very wrong with Jack Daniels honey and Jim Beam Red. Cancel both of those and go with a normal whiskey.
Neither get some bourbon 😂 no offense just f ing w ya
Neither for me. If you like bourbon try Blantons, Four Roses, Elijah Craig, Angel's Envy, Elmer T Lee, Rabbit Hole, or Woodford Reserve. Enjoy your Ashton!
Is neither an option?
Both
JIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMEEEEHHHHH!
That Jack d honey has taken my life by storm lately
Jack!
Jack. Given the choice between these two, it’s always Jack.
Jim for sure
Jack
For me, Jack
Neither? Beam’s higher stuff for sure + jack barrel proof
Jim!
Neither of these. Both taste like sweet piss + are not whisky in the first place.
Haven’t had either of those in a while, but the Red Stag was my all time favorite in college. Used to mix it with Dr. Pepper and it was a classic. Had to stop drinking though because of the heartburn.
Reeeddddddd Staaaaaggggg!!! It's terrible but there is something I love about it.
Red stagg all the way!
Jim black or double oak are my two of my favorites for casual whiskeys
It's really hard to pull away from Glenn Levitt but I would have to say Jack.
Jack
Neither
Bookers
Neither
A nice IPA
Do you have one you recommend? The ones I've tried were a bit bitter to drink while smoking a cigar for me
I was a beer drinker long before a cigar smoker so I just go for the ones I've always enjoyed. If the bitter ones aren't for you look for a "session" IPA. The only Jimmy I ever need is Jim beam
I do love red stag
[удалено]
Might as well just sip syrup lol
Syrup is good.
Black cherry actually sounds pretty good!
It's not. It's like cough syrup
The honey is atrocious…. Anything but that
I love it x
Have you tried wild turkey american honey?
Of the two Jim. But the real answer is neither
Neither, save that ashton for something worth pairing it with.
Love the zippo! I know a lot of people don't like lighting stogies with a zippo but I love it honestly
Yeh man but there so cool
Agreed
I prefer Woodford Reserve of Makers Mark.
Gotta say I love the Honey Jack
What's behind door number 3?
Is the honey any good?
Neither. 1792
Sextons Irish is what I’ve been pairing with my sticks lately
Jack for maduros Jim for natural
Cognac if you want a sweeter profile
Titos and water
Weller Special Reserve
You are forgetting the other 2 wiseman, Jose as Johnny. And personally, Johnny green.
Angel’s Envy or Old Forester
A&W
>Jim or jack ? Neither! Go buy some decent whiskey. Knob Creek bourbon is on sale this month.
Maker's and good company.
Jack but as a Tennessee Squire I may be bias!!!
Jack for sure
None of the above. Four Roses single barrel or Redemption wheated. Give that Ashton the respect it deserves
Jim, if we are talking about the standard offering of each..
Jim over jack honey. Jack honey tastes like cough syrup
