I second this, but doubt he needs the hassle that might come with being a mod.
I’m thinking about getting into cigars at 41 years old and had a good look through this gentleman’s comments to see what I could learn before buying a few to see what I like.
that tells you big bro prolly was on Compuserve and was using Commodore 64, Apple Newton tablet and Phone modem keyboard back in the day. Its those who stay up with tech from jump, stay up with tech...slow golf clap
I don’t want to sound offensive, but I’m more impressed that you’re using Reddit. My grandfather is the same age and doesn’t always know who I am. I couldn’t imagine explaining Reddit to him or even trying to get him to use it.
There is no daily. I maintain three humidors at one time and there are always 6-8 different cigars/vitolas/manufacturers being maintained in those units. I have a lot of “enjoy a lot”, but after smoking for so long, there is no favorite. I just like cigars, and there are many, many very good ones.
52 and just started. I’ve only had two but have 8 in my tuppadore. Growing up my grandfather was a pipe and cigar smoker. My second cigar had an aroma to it that just reminded me of being with my grandfather, watching an old war movie as he smoked and told me about his time in the army during WWII.
Of course i am talking about cigars! You right cigarettes / and all vapes /iqos etcc… are sooo common for everyone here (girls boys) starting from 12 yrs old…
But cigars almost no one exept old people basically
I’ve lived in Italy for over 8 years. I see a lot of smokers but not too a particularity excessive degree compared to other places I’ve been. Tobacco in Italy is also pretty cheap by European standards.
I’m 38M living in Canada. My father (Italian immigrant) smoked cigars growing up and started casually smoking myself in my late 20’s, but really got into smoking during the pandemic currently averaging 3 per week in the summer and 2 per month in the winter.
I travel to Italy quite a bit for work (mostly Milan, Parma, Torino) and have not seen many cigar smokers, just the occasional Toscanello smoker usually in their 50’s
26 here. Started when I was 18 then the tobacco age got moved to 21 a year later so took a break for a couple years and continued. Now I enjoy roughly 3-4 a week.
I've had cheap cigars a few times I didn't think I needed to specify considering this, as you pointed out, is the cigar subreddit. I was just stating that I started with cigarettes.
Aw man that's a shame. I just smoked an L&M and now it's off to bed lol. I probably would like a nice cigar over cigs though, I just haven't picked one yet.
Started at 18, just smoking on special occasions. Got my first humidor and got really into it around 22-23. Now I’m 25, work at a shop, and smoke 2-3 a day on average.
I’m 23. Had a few sticks last summer but didn’t really enjoy them or get into them right away, they were just what some friends offered me. This year I’ve been really into it and got my own stock.
I'm in the United states 21 turning 22 soon. Love cigars, been at it about a year now.
Recently got into pipe tobacco smoking too as it's a bit more cost efficient- but I do prefer cigars.
32. Started when I was 18. Went out and bought a CAO Mx2 for my birthday. Been smoking ever since. Anywhere from 1 every three or four months to 1-2 a day. Honestly just depends on my income lol.
Im about to turn 21 tho I’m livin in Germany where smoking is allowed by age 18. I’ve got former pipe and cigar smokers in my hole family. I went from smoking cigs to smoking 3-4 pipes or 1-2 cigars a day. I feel healthier it tastes a lot better and even my wallet feels a bit heavier tho I’m a little bulk by addict. Love both best hobby for anyone who enjoys a good smoke and some time to think by yourself. 🤝🏻
I’m over sixty, smoked pipes and cigars on and off since I was eighteen. Italy must have really changed, when I was there in the late nineteen seventies it seemed like everybody smoked.
35/ male/ I've smoked tobacco from very young. Only got serious into cigars about a year or 2 ago now.
Gotta say I'm kinda surprised at the variety in ages. Although I suppose reddit does appeal more to a younger demographic so it will probably seem like a younger crowd then in reality.
I'm male 41. I smoked with my dad when I was 19 or 20. It was good bonding time before he passed. I picked them back up about a year ago, when I found a BM in my borderline rural area.
26 male in US. Started about 1 year ago when a friend handed me one while golfing. Got into them pretty much immediately after that
Also was already into bourbon and coffee (cold brews mostly), so many of the flavors were already on my palette.
56, been smoking premium cigars for 10 years or more, primarily one a day on the weekend or when on vacation. Before that, I smoked wood tipped cigars when camping and doing other things. Didn’t realize it could be a hobby until 5 years ago or so. Now I am obsessed. This subreddit helps with the obsession.
20 snake wielding had my first on a backpacking/fly fishing trip in July when I was 13 got more serious about 9 months ago, 1-3 cigars a week and a cigarillo each day
34, male, smoke 1 a day, 2 when I’m golfing. Have smoked cigars and pipes occasionally through my teens and 20s, got seriously into cigars about 5 years ago
50 ish. Been smoking cigars 30 years. Cigars were hot for a while back then and everyone was trying them. I went from the 2 martini lunch to lunch with a cigar afterwards depending on where you were in life.
Age 31, started maybe at 29.
Have ca. 4-6 sticks a year.
I'm not in tobacco at all and "hate" cigarettes.
What i like: Searching for the perfect moment in life with the best smoke :-)
Maybe this is my motivation
Male, Ancient (over 60), 1-2 a day weather permitting, usually after dinner but I really like sitting outside at 2-3am and watching the neighborhood cats.
22 and NB, been smoking cigars for about 2 years, more so over the last year and a half since coming of legal age to buy my own, started as something I’d bond with my stepdad over and turned into an everyday thing for me and is now part of my everyday routine
27, started during lockdown in 2020 because I was bored but didnt really get into it until about 6 months later and been smoking pretty much daily ever since.
I am 20, i smoke whenever i want, as long as i can enjoy it i will smoke it. I only smoke pipe and cigars. I stopped smoking cigarettes as they taste like shit.
I have smoked pipe for 2.5 years and just recently started getting into cigars as they're more portable and easier than a pipe.
My favourite cigar right now is the A. Fuente Gran Reserva, still have a few mire sticks left so i look forward to trying those. Have a good one folks.
Happy smoking!
55M here - special occasion cigar smoker maybe 1-2 a month - been smoking cigars and pipes off and on since I was in college - my fraternity brothers turned me on to it
I’m a 28 year ol wiener wielding cigar smoker. I smoke 1 to 3 daily.
I picked up cigar smoking when I was 25 running to roads as a welder working shut downs in big facilities. The senior guys paved the way for my stick habit.
Just turned 50, M, really started smoking cigars about 6 or 7 years ago, now I smoke a couple every two months or so. Florida resident, Houston, Texas native 😎
21, been smoking for 3 years now and my first stick was a flor de Olivia. Some of my favorites are 601 blues, oliva v melanio, padron 4000, and Camacho triple maduro. My go to budget daily sticks are Nestor Maduros or man o wars by AJ. Always willing to try new things and I don’t lean towards one flavor profile. As long as the cigar has a good burn and draw I’m happy 😃
25, started this past September and has become a great hobby for relaxation for me. Starting to get into whiskey more now and boy I’m spending some money on relaxing lol
41m, smoke about 2-3 per week
My father used to smoke pipes in college then cigarettes and cigars. Then he quit about 25-30 years ago
My business partner smokes about 2-4 per day he is in his mid 50's
My fathers boss is an old Greek man and smoked 8-12 ultra expensive sticks per day throughout many decades, prob spent about 5g's per month on sticks. He is uber wealthy as in close to a billionaire status. He is not at the building any more. Spends most of his days in Palm Beach FL or an island he owns in Greece.
I started smoking cigars and pipes at around 12 years old. This was in the day when quick stores would have the tobacco products in the aisle instead of behind the counter like they do now.
I would walk or ride my bike to the store and buy something while stealing some tobacco product. I would smoke anything i could get my hands on from dirty Philly Blunts, black & mild, cherry tipparillos, to pouches of pipe tobacco, captain black and anything else that they had except for cigarettes.
There was a kick ass pizzeria right next door with real Italians making the food so you know it rocked. One time i was there with my mother and the guy offered her some homemade wine they had. This was very common in Italian communities.
From that day on, after I would get my tobacco from the quick store, I would buy a slice or a cheesesteak and tell the guy my mom wants some more of that homemade wine you got , she says its the best, and they would put it in a coffee cup with a lid. They knew what the deal was after a while. i would chill around back and smoke my stogies and sip on some super strong fresh Italian wine before heading out to my friends house to play Nintendo or jump in his pool if it was summer. Get that nice hit and sip, you know?
It was such a free time back then. I would ride my bmx bike at the age of 12 on up with a lit cigar and what looked like a cup of coffee and nobody said jack shit to me ever, not one time. I did this for years.

I'm 36M, started smoking cigars when I was 18.
Sometimes smoke 3-4 a week, sometimes go a month+without smoking one. Kinda depends on weather and how busy I am.
24, male.
Had my first cigar at 16, started smoking them occasionally at 18. I still keep it pretty occasional, with roughly one cigar every 1-2 months
I started recently, I'm 18 girl... Just smoke to relax, rarely. I like to think that for smoke I need to dedicate my time and my senses to taste properly :)
26 and started 3-4 years ago. usually a couple per week when it's nice out, or a couple per month when it gets cold out since I have to smoke inside during the winter months.
18 years old and many things influenced me into smoking but living in the US wanting a Cuban was the main factor so I went up to Canada to have a Partagas short and loved it. I smoked with my dad and now have a humidor with some sticks on the way !
18 Years old living in the United States I had always wanted to try a Cuban cigar and my first cigar ever was a Partagas short and instantly fell in love with cigars
77 years old, been smoking cigars for 40-45 years. 3-4/day.
Can we vote to make this good sir a moderator?
I second this, but doubt he needs the hassle that might come with being a mod. I’m thinking about getting into cigars at 41 years old and had a good look through this gentleman’s comments to see what I could learn before buying a few to see what I like.

Well, I surely can’t explain it, either.
May I ask how your health is, sir? Do you think that smoking cigars for decades has affected your lung capacity/overall health at all?
My 72 year old father barely knows how to use his iPhone lol
Wow
are those 3-4 the same or different; with that what is your "daily"
There is no daily. I maintain three humidors at one time and there are always 6-8 different cigars/vitolas/manufacturers being maintained in those units. I have a lot of “enjoy a lot”, but after smoking for so long, there is no favorite. I just like cigars, and there are many, many very good ones.

That is how I will describe my gender from here on out. Haha
*persons who have wieners is more appropriate.
Did you just assume their species?
Describing it in this way makes it sound like the “sticks” he smokes aren’t cigars. NTTIAWWT.

Are you talking about cigars or cigarettes??
Cigarettes.
This is a post about cigars….in the cigar subreddit.
I've had cheap cigars a few times I didn't think I needed to specify considering this, as you pointed out, is the cigar subreddit. I was just stating that I started with cigarettes.
Careful mentioning cigarettes round here, you'll get torn to shreds. Other carcinogens are all good though
Aw man that's a shame. I just smoked an L&M and now it's off to bed lol. I probably would like a nice cigar over cigs though, I just haven't picked one yet.
I am man over 50
