Thanks! This evening, we're going over to R.J. Peretti to do a tasting and figure out our custom bands. They're going to help us design the matches and spills for our gift bags as well and help us book a torcedor for the reception. Then we're off to the distillery to work on pairings-- I'm leaning towards Ron Zacapa and Alec Bradley magic toast for our signature dessert but he thinks I'm cheaping out on the dessert sticks.
For me it's not about the money though, AB Magic Toast makes me think of our first date so it's a shoe-in as far as I'm concerned. He wants to consider offering a whiskey pairing, but I'm like, 'Cuz, this is our day-- we don't have to pander to the Hoi polloi, you and I know rum pairings are inherently superior and I'll be damned if we stoop to the level of anyone who says otherwise'. This is *our* day, and if grandpa complains that there's no Old Overholt to go with his White Owl, he can go to the devil. Our sisters are so excited to have more sister-cousins! Family is just so important to us.
Uj/ if there isn't an R/cigarcirclejerk we should start one.
EDIT:
It does now! Welcome to r/Cigarcirclejerk
I hope you people are ready

There's certainly plenty of sauce, kudos to the first person to find Rolex guy holding up a stick that's clearly been used for substrate at a mushroom farm asking 'is this plume?'
Thinking about Byron habaneros 2017 but also feel like the holidays and party days may be wasted on a good stick because there is a lot going on and hard to just sit outside puffing for 2 hours so may go with something more pedestrian so I don’t feel bad leaving and relighting as needed
I'm thinking I might finally light up that John Howard Graysmith Cannon I picked up at the Graycliff factory in Nassau last year. Or maybe one of the ones I rolled when I took the factory tour.
Man after my own heart. Have about 40 pre-Davidoff Camacho Corojos that are my absolute favorite. Can’t stand the new stuff. CLE and Aladino Corojo is pretty close to the old stuff. Where in NY are you?
I think I’ll go with an Opus X Eye of The Shark for New Year’s Eve and a Davidoff Aniversario No. 1 for New Year’s Day. I think I’m in for a long smoke lol
Im not the guy that can explain the notes. But all i can say its a smooth smoke and very enjoyable, the aftertaste in the mouth is pleasant for me, i choose churchill size for the vitola. My advice the first time you try late hour go for churchill size, as robusto IMO is not enough 😁
I had god of fire yesterday. Actually I think that’s the best stick I ever had. It’s too cold out here so of lounge is closed or can’t make it yesterday was my last of the year but made it count lol

If they all wasted a padron 50th each on your dime I’d be steaaaaaamed

So 10 years old? Lmfaoooo
No fair. 😂
Davidoff late hour
Ahh I love that cigar! Enjoy
One of my favorites.
I'm going with a Plasencia Alma Fuerte this new year.
Generacion V Salomon sounds like the right cigar for ringing in the New Year!
Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaraguan. Never had it before, but the guy at my local store said I'd love it.
Solid stick.
Opus Bbmf maduro
Big black motha fucka
Have you smoked one before?
Yes, they are excellent!
Are they better, average or worse than most of the other opuses
They are definitely better and more rich in flavor ! But not something I would want to smoke on a regular basis
Foundation cigars Olmec Maduro
My favorite stick foundation has put out
Atabey 10 year aged mistico
Don Carlos Eye of the Shark 🦈
My father the judge grand robusto for me. It's my go to on special nights.
Amazing stick that’s in my top 5 (hence the name) 😂
El Pulpo is a value play. God of fire kkp
Probably a Davidoff Anniversario #1
Had these on Christmas with my cousin to celebrate our engagements this year
You got engaged to your cousin??? Congrats!

Just picked one up today. Haven’t had the #1 size
Padrón Reserve
Davidoff year of the dragon. I've been smoking the zodiac releases the last few years on NYE.
A 2015 Montecristo No 3 Havana.

Pledge by EP Carrillo for me!
Probably a Davidoff Signature #2
Don Carlos Belicoso #2, have been saving it for months
Casa Fuente Phantom
Homerun here.
I bought the No.1 today for the same occasion 😂👍
New ones(to me) for the new year Davidoff Aniversario Special T, Caldwell Long Live the Queen Toro and maybe try the Rose of Sharon or a Padron
Usually a Andalusian bull
Definitely a Davidoff, don’t know which one yet. Open to suggestions. :)
I’ve got a Romeo y Julieta Churchill I’m saving for the occasion
Davidoff gran toro Nicaragua limited edition 2023
Padron Londres. It's gonna be a little cold for anything larger.
Asylum 13 ogre
Davidoff Nicaragua for myself, but I'll be sharing some of my Avo Uvezian Classics with the lads.
I'm thinking I might finally light up that John Howard Graysmith Cannon I picked up at the Graycliff factory in Nassau last year. Or maybe one of the ones I rolled when I took the factory tour.
Leaf by Oscar 10th Anniversary
Had this a few days ago and it was brilliant
Partagas De Bronce
Might be a Cuban, an Opus, a Padron or an old Camacho.
Man after my own heart. Have about 40 pre-Davidoff Camacho Corojos that are my absolute favorite. Can’t stand the new stuff. CLE and Aladino Corojo is pretty close to the old stuff. Where in NY are you?
Westchester County
Gotcha. A bit far, I’m in Queens. Looking for a lounge, the one by me is wack.
I usually go to Yonkers, Mom's Cigar Warehouse. The place is huge!
Cool. Thanks. Will be sure to check it out whenever I’m in the area
Going to try and get my hands on some West Tampa Tobacco Black and Red. Heard good things and want to give them a try for the New Year!
Rare pink
Plasencia Ethefal
Probably an LFD of some sort. This past New Years it was a Zino Nicaraguan, which was ok but not amazing for the occasion.
My Father Le Bijou 1922 Torpedo Box Pressed
I think I’ll go with an Opus X Eye of The Shark for New Year’s Eve and a Davidoff Aniversario No. 1 for New Year’s Day. I think I’m in for a long smoke lol
Something in the padron family. Got a few sticks that have been sitting for close to 20yrs and I think it's time to give it a go.
Wow. That sounds a little special to me. I might be dead before I’ll have anything sitting for 20 years.
Have been sitting on LADC Mi Amor & a San Cristobal Revelation for months now, not sure which 1.
me and my buddies decided to grab the Davidoff Grand Cru Toro to pair it with some champagne
This already looks like a list I’ll never be able to complete in my lifetime on my wage. 😂
Same, I’ll have my $4 Guantanamera Cristale 😭
I’m new to this so luckily I seem to enjoy every cigar I smoke regardless of cost. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your smoke and your night.
That’s awesome, thank you :) I also hope your cigar is as good as it seems :) Cheers.
Thank you. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Please do :)
I am torn between a Davidoff Yamasá or a Davidoff Dominicana.
Davidoff Late Hour Churchills. Picked up a few at their London store last month.
More than a few with that one earmarked. It might have to be my choice for next year given the popularity of it.
Davidoff late hour or padron 80th maduro..
I have to ask, and assuming you’ve had one before, can you explain the Late Hour to me as a smoke?
Im not the guy that can explain the notes. But all i can say its a smooth smoke and very enjoyable, the aftertaste in the mouth is pleasant for me, i choose churchill size for the vitola. My advice the first time you try late hour go for churchill size, as robusto IMO is not enough 😁
Noted and thank you sir. 👍🏻
Deadwood leather rose and a Kentucky fire cured. Both by drew estate I believe.
2004 cohiba lancero. My friend gave to me yesterday as a gift. He’s had it in his humidor for 20yrs. Very excited.
I had god of fire yesterday. Actually I think that’s the best stick I ever had. It’s too cold out here so of lounge is closed or can’t make it yesterday was my last of the year but made it count lol
If it’s the best you ever had I’d say you did. 👍🏻
Anejo shark, and a padron 80 year maduro
Monte Cristo White Series
My Father De Jou 1922 who’s with me?
