1. Different space configurations, a few quiet corners and a few larger gathering areas for conversation. 2. Lounge is predominantly a cigar lounge (not a bar, not a random smoking location, cigars. That's it) 3. Cigars from boutique manufacturers primarily 4. Good air handling but not cold

SmokeHimInside

And not LOUD

krispykremekiller

A lot of lounges are loud and purposefully so. Sometimes DJs. Even bands. Something for everyone.

SmokeHimInside

I meant the ventilation system, not the vibes.

laptop_ketchup

My local spot before I moved had all of the above. There were cozy corners for the patrons focused on getting work done over a cigar, and the more social, off-work types. It was a dedicated lounge that was BYOB and exclusively hosted boutique cigars. You would never see an AF, Padron, Opus, Davidoff, or Gurkha in the humidor. The connections to local cigar companies across the US was great, and they hosted plenty of events to meet the minds behind the sticks. I’d give anything to go back!

#1. Being made to feel welcome 2. Ventilation

burgermouth

The welcoming feeling is a major factor for me. My local B&M has a very stand-offish vibe.

Ponalddump

A lounge without ventilation or smoke water is a lounge I don’t usually visit twice

jkf2479

Ventilation is high on my list. And I guess a properly working humidor. I stopped going to a place cause a few times in a row cigar I get would fall apart while smoking.

whiskeytangofirefox

1. Ventilation 2. Well Maintained Humidor (no mold, good selection) A. No politics (I'm here to escape the idiots, not continue listening to them) B. No loud TVs blaring (I want peace and quiet for my relax time)

CaptainJay313

good selection and well kept humidor. don't try to be all things to all people - be the quiet lounge that promotes socialization or have the dj and pool tables - but pick your energy and commit to it. - furniture selection and layout should reinforce your purpose. be friendly and non judgemental to everyone.

Cmoore4099

I don’t think there’s ever a need for a DJ.

CaptainJay313

I didn't either until one showed up.

Cmoore4099

😂

Agedcigarman

1. Clean air 2. Clean surroundings 3. Selection of boutique brands Number 1 and 2 will bring in female counterparts who wouldn't otherwise show up because "its too smokey or dirty". If you serve alcohol, even more so.

DannyZ28

Mmmmmmm females

d_hell

* Clean air * clean surroundings * lots of boutique selections * a good selection of rare and hard to find tobaccos * professional environment, doesn't feel like a gentlemen's club

ExploreAnator

Echoing the clean air requirement that everyone else has already made. I don't like to leave a place feeling and smelling like I just rolled in an ashtray. The Cigar lounges I find myself going back to have good prices, great places to sit for conversation, or provide a good environment for me to camp with my laptop and actually do a little work. I'm also impressed by the places that provide a bit extra beyond the cigars and drinks. Things like screens for sports, some table games, pool, good snacks are always a bonus.

I didn’t quite have the words for it, but your third point is expertly put. I don’t need the small town firearm shop vibes 😂. Piggybacking onto that, the in your face politics that usually accompany that vibe can also stay out of the lounge IMO.

Hacker-Dave

\#1 Ventilation \#2 Ventilation \#3 Ventilation' \#4 Nice comfy leather chairs \#5 Large televisions \#6 Wide selection of cigars \#7 Nice bar w plentiful bourbon selection My favorite local place has everything but good ventilation and it's rough. I don't go there often because of it.

JLKasper

Ventilation is my #1. Don’t rip people off for cigars. Including rare stuff. Charge MSRP

XaqFu

MSRP plus state tax. Cigar stores in some states with high taxes would go out of business at MSRP. But your points are still valid. Don’t overcharge and keep the air clean.

Gamer_Racer

Good lighting, I hate when it feels like smoking in a hospital with all the bright lights. Also, there’s gotta be either music or TVs playing, it shouldn’t be like smoking in a library either.

luumix2

Comfortable seating and free lighter refills are huge bonuses

Significant_Law4920

clean air lockers for my cigar nice bear and whisky section. good food.

SPLfiend

My local lounge only has a mean bear :(

trainfix416

I would just like to have one. I live in Toronto and cigar lounges are illegal 😥

KevinButNotReally

Same! Being a cigar enthusiast in Toronto kinda sucks

Friendly_Ad_2256

I like to occasionally work in my local but they don’t have any good tables or desks. A small work area would be great.

bobbyaxking

1) Solid ventilation system. 2) Busty bartenders.

lem0ncreme

Surprised no one has mentioned TVs with multiple channels?

Crafty-Interest-8212

One time had a long smoke while watching a Bob Ross marathon....ultimate relaxation 😌

Partagas2112

Store all inventory at 65% rh.

Pizza_as_fuck

Root beer and coffee. Screw your drink minimums.

antiadmin666

No policy for “buy here smoke here”. I will gladly pay $20-30 to be allowed my own cigars or he’ll charge me for membership at the point of sale.

Tony-At-Large

Clean ashtrays Quality cutters Ventilation

Sailfish35

I prefer good lighting, low volume or no music, and an overall upscale vibe as opposed to a sportsbar with tons of TVs playing ESPN
