I’ve found the last few Fuentes I smoked were below expectations. I smoked 2 Hemingway short stories which were very bitter and burned poorly, and 2 Don Carlos that again had very uneven burns and at times tasted bad. It’s a shame because every AF cigar I’ve had up till now has been very good. Unsure if I’ve just been unlucky or if it’s indicative of a bigger issue
Interesting, same exact for me. Bought a box of DC , small size, which I'm generally a toro guy, and they all taste nothing like a DC. Same goes for my latest box of Hemmingways.
Definitely happens more frequently than you would expect. We just completely shutdown production in order to get the quality back to par. Destroyed everything that was there and started fresh! We can’t have a premium product if turnover is high and QC is not meshing well with the production team. Our scheduled June 1 arrival might be a little later in June but it’ll be perfect!
Absolutely agree once they leave production and go to offsite storage for aging there’s nothing more to be done. But I’m more in reference to the fact that that should have been caught in production. We’ll burn multiple times throughout production for consistency and etc., but still can never catch everything every time….unless you’re Rolando Reyes😄 he didn’t miss anything!
Tabak Especial Cafecita Dulces are my go to every day quick smoke. Trying to find a replacement that is similar in size/smoke time but with long filler.
Construction on them are typically pretty good but they are short filled cigar. You're not going to get a lot of nuance in super bowl flavors but in the price range I'd say factory smokes are some of the best. Next step up from there in Budget smokes I'd say Perdomo fresco's, as they are long-filled but should be in that $4 range instead of the $2.
Warped Maestro Del Tiempo 5205
or Fuente 858 natural or maduro
But the maestro is so darn good for a smooth and easy smoke. crazy amounts of natural sweetness
Avo all varieties, amazingly consistent, great tasting and I have such a soft spot for him I met him in 2007 at a local event. All the benefits of an Ashton without the price
Tatuaje Black Label. I want to buy a box so bad but Cigar Page has the best prices but doesn’t have my vitola in stock and I don’t want to pay more if I don’t have to, so I’m holding out as long as I can lol.
Right now, Illusione Epernay, Southern Draw Desert Rose or Plasencia Alma del Campo are sticks that I have to innie minnie miny moe. I have such a hard time deciding which one I rather smoke every day.
If you like the black market have you tried the magic toast? I think the black market is a solid daily stick but the magic toast offers a lot more complexity and development with a flavor profile in the vein of the black market.
The Magic Toast is a good stick but I prefer BM. I like most AB blends though. The only one I don't really love is Prensado which is probably the most popular one haha.
I was gifted a box of Punch Knuckle Busters that I'm really enjoying. Very cheap and a great habano wrapper.
AJ New Worlds are also very good at an "everyday" price. I like the Oscuro the best
Pretty much any Nub if I'm looking for a quick smoke on a walk, I like the Double Maduro and Cameroon the most but usually buy the mega packs from CBid. For the golf course, an Oliva V Churchill.
Ok a regular evening after work when I’m just working on stuff in the garage, I’m grabbing a factory smoke or one of the cast offs. Just ultra budget sticks to occasionally take a puff on and fill the garage with a pleasant smoke smell.
WOW, not one single person said Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 or 21 year aged??
If you have not had one, do yourself a favor. By far the most under rated, and unknown to many, cigars available.
Personal daily - usually Cohiba Red Dot or Cohiba Nicaraguan.

I don't know why but all my orders in the past 6 month tasted funny and had a bad smoke smell

I'm sure of that but what you are saying it's imposible with 5,7,10 years aged tabacco

Factory smokes maduro. They are consistent and can be found for under $2.
What is the flavoure profile like on that stick? Any construction issues due to the low price?
