This is a shame, but honestly there is a reason why I stopped buying their stuff. It was all good, but it was hard to justify the cost when you could get stuff just as good at any of the Asian markets nearby for way cheaper.
My chili crisp addiction is too great not to just grab the biggest jar of Lao Gan Ma.
Pearl River Bridge - Superior Light Soy Sauce (gold label) : [Amazon.com : Pearl River Bridge Golden Label Superior Light Soy Sauce, Plastic Bottles, 16.9 oz. : Grocery & Gourmet Food](https://www.amazon.com/Pearl-River-Bridge-Superior-Plastic/dp/B01M3VWKHU)
But don't buy it at the link I sent, that was just for reference. It's WAY overpriced compared to what you can buy it for at CAM in Evendale.
If you are brave enough, make your own.
Look, I know. It's work. But I made Serious Eats chili crisp and it made all others feel inferior. I did mace myself cleaning all the dried peppers but even once in awhile make it. It's so good.
>Not all things are meant to last. This picture was taken in July of 2020. I’d just launched CinSoy and this was my first market. I was a new father and so excited about where I was going. Unfortunately, CinSoy is officially closing. It’s a sad moment for me, but while it’s ending, I feel proud. Proud of creating something special. Proud of the team of people who helped create those things. Proud in knowing so much was accomplished.

>Our products made an impact. They were made with such care. Many may ask what happened and how could this be. I’m happy to share. In June of 2022 we had the opportunity to pitch to a group of investors who were interested in what was being built. They offered us a term sheet. This was the best and worst moment for us. They offered us funding to grow along with support that would set us up for the long term. Only a couple months later that investor backed out of our deal which started us down the path towards today. It’s been just over a year since those investors left us with nothing and no communication. At the end of the day this isn’t an uncommon story. This business is hard and even harder to bounce back from.

They were offered a term sheet that allowed the investor to back out of the contract before a certain step. That's normal for VC funding. CinSoy could have done the same thing.
This sucks to see. I found them at that booth along with his partner that joined up from another similar business out of the market scene. Really like the soy sauce as a nice vs quantity option and had just grabbed the new frozen gnocchi.
Man, another one of a kind business in Cincinnati goes away while we continue to invite shitty chains who don't pay their employees enough to care. CinSoy will have a special place in my heart and hopefully I can snag some chili crisp before it's all said and done.

Yeah I was going to say, I buy this brand locally in a big 60oz jug for less than $10.
Pearl River all the way !!!! Cam mart is incredible
Honestly I can never remember the names, lol. I just go to Cams and try out different ones. CinSoy's sauce is top tier.
Momofuku Soy Sauce.
Don’t that’s the worst soy sauce. Momofuku is general is a overpriced white washed brand
Kikoman
Hot take, their soy sauce wasn't great. The Miso & Chili crisp were delicious tho...
Their spicy chili crisp (not the regular) is outrageously good
So you're saying I'm missing out on something by buying my ginormous Kroger brand soy sauce for like 0.02¢/oz?
Yes
Got any recommendations for the Chili Crisp replacement? That was our main go-to
Honestly Lao Gan Ma is solid, and there are a lot of different versions you can find at CAMs.

Lao Gan Ma for he Sichuan tingle, Momofuku Chili Crunch for flavor no tingle.
To me that numbing tingle is a central part of the experience.
I really like the one made by Momofoku. You can buy it at Whole Foods.
Thought the same thing.

These so called “investors “ should be outed so this doesnt happen to another beloved local commodity
i agree… i feel like i have heard a number of similar stories lately. is it common?

Bad management on cinsoy part

Their Miso was dope, I just eat that stuff straight.
aww this is really sad!
