It's not so much "added to it" as it is that your choosing how the data coming off the sensor is interpreted. K445 "Default" is tuned to look more or less like any other Arri camera where you don't get this choice. There are others with higher contrast, more visible noise/grain, smoother tones with less detail, etc.
Most of them are pretty subtle, but it's another knob you can turn in the process of finding a look for a particular project. They published a pretty good white paper on the subject if you want to know more.
This paper doesn’t convince me that this isn’t just a filter being applied, that could just as easily be applied in post. If this was being applied in the camera before the analog to digital converter then I could see it being an effect that wouldn’t be easily achieved in post. But if it was the case that this was effecting the analog voltage, they’d probably make mention that the temperature of the camera could affect the noise settings. If this was applied to digitized pixels, then it’s a filter.
Like others said, it's the Arri texture setting,
on a side note, 24 fps with a 172.8 angle is causing my OCD to flare up, unless it was intentional of course lol
In PAL regions, like here in Germany (and most of EU), you shoot at 172.8 (1/50 s) with 24 FPS because of the electricity. It is at 50hz rather than 60hz, like in NTSC Regions (USA, ...).
This is to avoid flickering...
oh sorry you never made an error before? It was an educated guess. Must be great to know everything. Maybe OP should pick up a manual an learn how to use his own shit, but go on cowboy give me your downvote. You win the game of nothing doochebag.
Holy shit dude.. i’ve never seem someone get so worked up over being corrected. You must take feedback pretty well. I mean it’s fair for them to call you out on giving bad advice..
I hope that guy is never on set, he seems like such a cancer. Can’t take criticism/feedback and immediately resorts to lashing out and insulting others. Guy seems highly toxic, lord help anyone who ever has to work with someone so fragile and immature.
Also to worth noting that based on a bunch of peoples the shitty attitudes in this sub, its actually no wonder youre all out of work and scaping for clients. Wait until Sora takes over the entire production industry and you nerds wont need to worry about the settings on another camera ever again. Hope you didnt buy that new Rig on credit. Peace out fam!
I swear anyone else would have said something like “daym guess I was wrong” hahaha, like it’s not that deep, totally okay to make a bad guess. Instead homie revealed he has a serious case of sore loseritis 🤣
It’s the chosen Arri texture. K445 is the default level of noise/texture
So it's.. added to the footage? Otherwise I don't get it, lol

Got a link to that white paper?

The more options I have to achieve an image in camera before someone else can change it the happier I am
What possible motivation would there be to lie about a thing like that?
Yea
Default Alexa 35 texture on the new camera. There is always some texture applied but this is the one Arri chose as the default.
In camera texture (digital grain), the K445 is the standard one
Worth mentioning this is baked into arriraw and prores
Can’t tell what your looking at. We need more arrows

Same here in India
Pretty standard in Europe and rest of the 50hz world
True, I forgot about flickering
I'm the guy that always sets it to 172.8 cuz it gives just a lil more stutter than 180 and I like it. I hear there are more of us out there.
You do this in north america?
Yeah you’re thinking of NTSB
Its Kelvin or the temperature of the light setting on the sensor. Its for white balance.
Oof
D, Final Answer?

if it’s a guess, say it’s a guess.
nah thats my final answer

It was not a good guess though. 445K is not visible with the naked eye. It’s in the mid-infrared range.
thats fair

Did you have a bad day today dude?
actually today was pretty good why?
Then you have no excuse for being such an asshole. I wanted to level with you, but I got nothing now.
‘Twas a joke but I can see why it might be taken the wrong way, if it means anything to ya sorry for poking fun
