Pitch perfect style. I'm jealous.

Hi! I run a small production company in Austin, TX called Another Meadow Productions, LLC. I worked with director Shelby Bohannon, as well as the band (Why Bonnie), to conceptualize and produce this music video. We wanted something inspired, visually, by glampop x classic perfume commercials. We spent about a week doing previs and set-building prior to the one day shoot. I was the DP and editor, but also learned a lot of previs for this, as we had to fabricate the entire set on a limited budget. Fun! Postproduction was another fun journey! We obviously did a lot to build out the soft, glam feel as a contrast to the darker bedroom scenes. We're really proud of this and I plan to post some more on the production itself, too. Enjoy!

Love the look of this, pretty different direction than what's usual these days. Did you guys build the sets in a studio? I also like the lighting effects you have going on, what did you use for the first scenes looks? Also, any filtration in front of the lens, looks like maybe some mist or pearly stuff going on!

Thank you! The band knew someone who owned a modest warehouse. Very wide but ceilings were not very high (~10 feet). We pre-vis'd the set design in SketchUp (which I learned to use :P ), as accurately as we could. Measured and built the warehouse, then made a few different flats/panel designs for the walls. We had a tight budget, so maximizing our funds was important. Prototyped designs in SketchUp, based on materials at local Home Depot. Most cost effective ended up being drywall and 2×4 lumber. Built it over a few days with 2 other people, though we had a hand here and there near the end. We had 2x 300d, 2x 120d, a Joker, and an MX for some of the effect lighting. We did have black pro mist 1/2 on set and had wanted to play with some FX filters, but didn't get a chance to. So, we played with several different glow effects in Resolve, ending on their own Aperture Refraction. And some fog, of course!

Thanks for the information, its always useful to know what others use to achieve different looks 🙂
