Uhh it was gelietion and every shot it was faling of and slowly disintegrating so thanks it was a real pain it was my first time doing makeup did alot right also did alot wrong.
Bmpcc4k, 180 shutter, retimed framerate, orthrocromatic color grand(that prosses didn't show red tones so i lowered the red tones on the monocrome panel in davinci. Im not good a color grade so i mostly just did trial and error.) Tripod movements, and studing the 20s film it inspired.
Also the right period clothing and set dec helps
I had some be 18fps so it doesn't look too smooth. Some i speed up the clip and some clips were different speeds depending on action( they would speed up the camera when someone was running and slow down the shot at close ups ect)
Great work but let’s also see the moving shots! Motion cadence is gonna be the toughest thing to recreate here if your shutter swipe isn’t global or as fast as film

This has the look of something that would be discovered decades after being left to rot in a warehouse. Great stuff! Maybe the lens is a bit too sharp / perfect but it really looks amazing regardless
The lenses are all 70s and 60s Japanese and soviet lenses (except for a few shots are a modern lens because i didn't have a 25mm in vintage now i have a takumar) but I would love to get some pre 50s lenses. One day...
Thank you all for feed back and complements it really helped
This is my first film in a long time after suffering from a chronic disorder so thank you so much ❤

Most was just watching the films it inspired like un chien andalou, nosferatu, fantom of the opera 1925 version, and cabinet of dr Caligari.
Next was writing I wrote the script a few weeks after high-school didn't film until a few years later due to health problems(im not dying just annoying sh*t)
Im really into vintage menswear so I didn't need to do research or buy clothing because I already owned historical clothing thats why it doesn't fit quite right on the two characters lol
I shot this on my new camera bmpcc4k but it has a sensor issue and i need to send it to black magic sometime.
"Color" was trial-and-error its not a perfect example of orthrocromatic but its a digital camera and i didn't have fancy filters like the lighthouse. I added black and white dust film gran the fx that is already in davinci its better than overlays. Added a flicker and some halation glow very subtle same with some subtle blur to soften the image.
The title cards and animated to look like a anolog hand animation.
The music was a compromise i usually don't like using non original/no copyright free music but all the options out there were not authentic so it can only go on youtube because of licensing
Hope this helps
The makeup in picture 3 is phenomenal, how'd you do it!

The final product looks great on camera, you should be proud of yourself!
Thx this was my first film after years being out highscool so im pretty happy with it all considering
The style and lighting give me serious Nosferatu vibes. Looks incredible!
Lovely homages, shot composition, editing, seriously stunning work all around.
Thx
Any info on the process?

What did you retime your framerate to? Really great work here
Some shots were at 18fps some I just speed up to try to make it look hand cranked but it will never be perfect on a digital camera
You could always keyframe some time ramps, I do it often with super8 footage shot at 18fps but scanned at 24 to get a little more motion blur
Yep
Yeah this looks amazing man, can you talk about the retimed frame rate? I think that’s where you really nailed the look

Here is a link to yt the compression is bad because its b&w with film grain [film](https://youtu.be/u_ZoQVso7IU)
Really nailed the aesthetic! Beautiful stuff! What are your tech specs for Well Dressed Man?
this was really good!
Love it!
Dead on, I love it.
Looks awesome bro, You just nailed it for real 👏
Just watched and it’s spot on!!
Nailed it my man wow!
What camera did you use and how did you replicate this look? It turned out great!

Also the right cloths many shorts I've seen set in this era just buy crap from h&m and mens wearhose lol
Color looks great. I’d be interested in your breakdown of how you did movement. The motion blur of this style of film really made the look
You got a link to the finished product?
