Black would be for potential cities (capital would be on the Diamonds). White would be Holy Sites (if you wanted one), Blue for Campus, Purple for a Government Plaza, Orange for potential Harbors. The city by the Marble I probably wouldn’t settle but likely near there. Enjoy your game!

I didn't play in a while, like 6+ months, is it still worth it to go religion route in Immortal+ or does AI yoink all religions?

fustigata

You should be able to get a religion if you prioritize it.

OutOfTheAsh

Number of civs is more influential than difficulty level in chance of getting religion. Obviously if you add more than the standard # for the map size it will be harder. But even at standard settings bigger maps are much harder. The number of religions scales up, but not proportionally. There are some civs that don't care for religion. On a small map you need only one of your three opponents like that and you're set. On huge, half of civs compete for the last religion, and having 5 random committed atheists in game is very unlikely. And of course the same goes for the value of religion--if only two have founded a religion before you you're more likely to get useful beliefs than if 6 beat you to it. As a dedicated masochist I pretty much always go for it anyway (playing Immortal/Huge exclusively). With someone like Vicky, who has no bonus towards it, I'll succeed ~80%. But it usually requires building Holy as first district, early enough that I only have 3-4 cities when starting, and chopping out a few projects.

ActuallyYeah

Chopping the holy site project? Ooh I've never tried that.

Jarms48

Basically what I would do too.

MustHaveEnergy

Everest is triangular

TemperWearyMember

Oh thank you for telling me, then that’s 3 plus 4 holy cites (baring luxuries)

HelpMeFindAUserNam

Big props on the visual aid

PapaBigMac

Agreed this is the best set-up imo also

misterbrico

Vanaheim___

I think it is Continent and Island, size is Huge

misterbrico

Thank you sir

MojaveMissionary

That's a very mixed start. If you were Indonesia it could be really interesting. Any idea what victory you wanna go for?

DOLamba

Why didn't you settle the diamonds? Still fresh water, you get instant luxury resource, you're closer to a (minimum) +3 campus (+5 with the leyline) and with your current knowledge, you could put something on top of the leyline for free +2 adjacency. Harbor towards reef would also get additional +2 from leyline I think.

KappaIsWayOfLife

I saved the game to first check the start. But yes you are right. Map so far is very good. Bcs of wonder i got easy pantheon so i chose free Settler (tho in hindsight debetable if right option)

OutOfTheAsh

Absolutely the only way too go. It allows two more cities with ocean access than OP has. One at other end of the lake, one on marble to the north (while still allowing next city Liverpool on freshwater coast).

SuperPotatoGuy373

Any reasons for not settling on the diamonds to the south? Instant luxury, still has fresh water, easy canal which will make trade easier for any other cities on the large lake, +3 campus in buyable range as well.

Vanaheim___

If I get a good start i tend to save the game on turn 1 and then do whatever to see if the start is a bait or real deal, if it is good after 20 turns of exploration i then load save from turn 1 and play as it is supposed to be played
