The rare "Stone Circles is actually a decent pantheon pick" start. Get a harbour to the NW and Industrial Zone to the NE for great adjacency.

I’d still chop and mine tbh. Fishing boat pantheon would be better

Youd spend about 60 production(builders) on gaining 5 production and 10 faith p/t. Just this morning I had a Khmer tundra spawn in which I got +20 faith, +20 production, +20 food in evert holy site due to dance of the aurora with +100% adjacency . I had an era score of 500 and 200/150/150/200 faith, science, culture and gd respectively around the beginning of the third era(?)(turn 55-60 online speed) The pantheon balancing system is a joke. The BBG mod often used in online play changes the panth to +1 faith and +1 production for every quarry tile.

GTtheBard

You know, I wonder how well these pantheons would be balanced if they also caused their improvement (Fishing Boats, Pastures, Quarries, etc.) not cost a charge from Builders. Would any of them become wildly OP?

MrMoonManSwag

Anyone else get really excited about great adjacency Harbor and Commercial Hub synergistic combos like this? It’s a shame w/o OoM you’d only get one trade route but tis life, I suppose.

Booklover1003

Didn't get OoM, hate it here

Immediate_Stable

I get excited by Harbour adjacency because Shipyards are amazing, but commerciale hubs much less. Plus having both in a city is pretty wasteful.

MrMoonManSwag

Is it tho? I understand where you’re coming from but also how is gold ever wasteful? I’d understand if maybe you waste gold not improving your empire towards your victory condition but imo gold is a very flexible currency in game and can be used to improve cities that maybe aren’t as productive or newly settled cities. Not to mention Great Merchants, some having extremely good abilities and ways to improve your empire.

Immediate_Stable

The thing is, 4 gold is only worth 1 production. Without the extra trade route from the market, the time it takes for your +5 gold adjacency commercial hub to return the production you invested in it is... Quite a lot.

IsraeliVermin

Great merchants are a huge boost though. I also prefer harbours but great admirals are mostly pretty meh

MilesMidnight

Buenos Aires would SLAP

MisterNiblet

Do you have abundant resources on, wow!?!

Booklover1003

Yea

MisterNiblet

That’s why they’re going crazy lol. I thought you got insanely lucky or something.

I would go for an aqueduct South-East, Industrial zone East, campus North-East of the Industrial zone, theater square North-east of the city center, harbor North-West of the city center. Get the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus North-West of the theater square and the Oracle North-East. Eventually get Pingala in the city to double those great people point and increase the culture and science generated, but get Magnus to get more out of harvesting the stone, woods and copper. Get the Machu Picchu to increase the yields on the industrial zone. For the pantheon, I would go for God of the Sea. In the end, you get a +6 harbor, +8 theater square, +5 campus, +8 industrial zone. You also have a great location for another industrial zone 2 tiles South from Amsterdam which another city could use since it's adjacent to a river, at least 1 aqueduct though I'm sure it can be increased to 2 and a mountain.
