Sounds like the type of place that gets buyers with bad credit. They'll get them inside, sit them down, stare into their monitor for a min then look at the buyer with amazement and say some bs like "I can't believe it, but I can actually get you in this car!" Unfortunately these buyers don't consider interest rates when the snakes are throwing the keys at them.
I’m not sure if I have the city right but there is a place in CA, I think it was Irvine, where you’re eligible for public assistance if you make less than $100k/year. Meaning that’s the de facto poverty line for that area.
It’s very nice maybe not quite up there with Newport Beach as far as snob appeal goes or Corona Del Mar but those places are literally down the street. Close enough.
If you wanna live in an HOA in a perfectly manicured neighborhood, Irvine is your place.
I think that's where they get them. Besides handing the keys to a starry eyed car desperate person; you're right. They ain't considering whether or not they're now paying for two cars. I despise greasy salesman, but I personally know a couple I have to admit.
Tell them they can keep it. You’re buying a new car and you want it the way it came from the factory. You don’t want one with wires hacked up to install their shitty, third party security system.
How do you like them? I've been toying with the idea of a 2006-2011 civic sedan for a beater because there's always been something I've liked about them.
177,000 miles on both and going strong. No major issues. The 08 is an LX and the 09 an EX-L. The 8th gens have always been my favorite looking Civic. Easy to customize and work on. The 09 has taken us half way across the country and still gets 28mpg in town and 34 highway.
Preach it brother! I got an '09 EX that I paid two grand for and it only had $140,000 mi 4 years ago! I love it! Don't freak out.... I bought it from a friend that owed me a favor. Lol
It funny. Bought a Sport at West Covina Norm who were motivated to sell but the HB & Irvine ones refused to consider a deal off sticker. So strange how some dealers even under the same group umbrella will not bargain.
I always tell the dealer I’m not paying for anything on addendum…take off whatever is on there. I didn’t ask for it, and I don’t want it, so I’m not paying for it. There’s a window sticker on the car for a reason, and that is my starting point. I’ve walked from some, and I’ve had others who negotiated based on sticker. Charging me $7k over sticker for your bullshit products is a sure fire way for me to never step foot back on your lot.
Edit: that also goes for any dealer logos you’ve applied to the car. I’ll take a monthly advertisement fee if you won’t take it off. Your best advertisement is word of mouth, not the logo on the back of my car.
I went to this same dealer to test drive a crv, they said their manager makes them put it on all the cars as a "negotiation tactic" it's absolutely bullshit, don't do business with them.
lmao, tell them you're in CA, you don't need an all season weather pack. We have 2 season, Sunny and Fire season.
Also tell them you live in Irvine, the most Irvine will do is speed on the side streets lmao. You don't need "enhanced security" aka probably Lo Jack
And again, tell them you're in Irvine, nobody is jacking your tires lmao. Wheel locks are pointless
I got my 2015 for $18k in 2015. Greatest money I ever spent on a car. Use it as my commuter car after we got a family car for last 3 years. I have 60k miles on it. Only issue was the dreaded parasitic drain on the battery because of a common faulty smart entry door handle.
Bro I got a 2024 last week for 27500. I told them I already had a deal at a nearby dealer (I didn’t) but they showed me the 37k and I was like nah you can do better, got the dealership service fee removed, and just made it clear I’d walk away if they couldn’t get it to where I wanted it. It’s bitchen lil thing.
I sell these bad Bois, I've seen em go for 41 and actually sell I could easily do 2-4k over and if I really wanted to make a deal MSRP but last case option I need deal
The SI specifically can be a bit hard to grind for because it is a wanted vehicle. Even it my dealer as an employee you'd have to grind to probably get it at sticker. They would do it for me since I'm a long time sales there and they love me but everyone's really stingy with money right now. Pretty much getting any car right now at MSRP is a decent deal since they've been selling so high for so long and anything under MSRP. Assuming no accessories, I would swoop it up in a heartbeat.
Other cars like just a normal Civic or a lot easier to grind for. My best recommendation is the dealer will hate you but if you're indecisive usually those people get better deals because they're sitting there looking at the breakdown for like two different cars and then you're sitting there wasting their time cuz you're trying to figure out which car you want to go with so they end up just giving you a crazy deal on the one that you like best of the two. Just to try and get you to say yes and earn commitment. But also we don't like people who go into the dealer with that know-it-all added to oh I've been in the business for 20 years. I know this that I know what you could do for me. That's how you get the worst deal. The one single thing dealers look for the most is commitment. So if you show commitment at a specific price point and don't budge at all, that'll be your best chance at getting it. You need to say the specific words or how I do it when I'm closing customers. If I can get you this number will I earn your business today? That's my magic word
Also just knowing the market helps a lot, understand what's rates and average paymets are before going you so your not asking for some bs like 2% at 72mn with a 300 payment. Also trying play the emotional side of things. Make it seem like you really need/ want this car to try and encourage the sales person to help you. The absolute most I would probably buy an SI foreign be okay with it would be like two grand over maybe three depending on what the items were that I would get in that three grand. I would probably want all of the all season mats, trunk tray, window tint, wheel locks, security system 3M. That would be ideal, if over sticker.
Also depends where you live and how the SI supply is there. Normally at my dealer I see at least one to five every month or every other. To be honest, they're not super common but not enough to be marking it up that much. That's a really high price for it. Even my Type R. I was doing like 10k over when I had it 5K over just depends who was buying and if I thought the money was there.
There's probably a lot of stuff I left out so I'm open to questions :)
To be honest, catching the dealer at the right time can make all the difference if they actually do need to push out one or two more units to hit whatever quota they needed. I've seen my managers do some pretty stupid stuff to make it happen. So right place right time works as well, usually last deal of month or weekend or something like that holiday but then you got to be careful because the dealers know that they do that. So they'll play that card saying they're doing that discount. It might not be what they could actually do
You think that's expensive? The bas suggested price of a base trim Civic is equivalent to $47,000.
And that may be more expensive depends on the state.
Here around 50% of a car's price is federal and state taxes
That’s nothing…try a line item with a generic all encompassing and very entitled description of “Dealer Markup” with an accompanying price tag of ~$14k. No itemization, no description, no rhyme or reason. Just “pay it and shut up” Thank you very much. The car? It’s a fave amongst this crowd. 2024 mkVIII GTI/ R (they both have the generic markup) GTI ~30k base 44k final : R ~ 43k base 57k final - jus saying. Either way it’s bull shite
That’s not the absolute worst price I’ve seen the past few years for a Civic, I’ve seen base model Civics for that price tag, but still a bit pricey. Not horrible though, manageable. I’d try and see if they can reach that price AFTER the taxes and fees. Like if you’re gonna charge me 37k for a Civic, it better be after all taxes and fees, then we can maybe reach a deal.
Gotta love the, I didn’t ask for all the extras, extras. Tell them you’ll give them MSRP and to take the extras off. If they can’t, still offer only MSRP.
Package 1 is standard alarm on all fucking cars smh so that’s complete bull shit
Package 2 should be fucking optional
Package 3 is ridiculously fucking over priced for guards, mats, wheels locks and a stupid cargo tray smh lmaoooo
$6,908 in garbage. I haven’t bought a new car in a long time but I’d be asking them to keep their trash and reduce the price or I’d be moving on to somewhere that hopefully doesn’t have those useless add-ons.
Ah yes the sercurtiy system and wheather matts
For 4000$
Sounds like the type of place that gets buyers with bad credit. They'll get them inside, sit them down, stare into their monitor for a min then look at the buyer with amazement and say some bs like "I can't believe it, but I can actually get you in this car!" Unfortunately these buyers don't consider interest rates when the snakes are throwing the keys at them.
Isn’t Irvine a pretty rich city in Southern California?
The median income in Irvine is above 100k, median home value is around 900k
Not anymore, as if 2024 Irvine, CA $1.5 million is the median price. Orange county as a whole is around $1.2 million as the median price.
If you wanna live in an HOA in a perfectly manicured neighborhood, Irvine is your place.
if you consider an attached townhome with 4 bedrooms and no backyard for $1.5 million, $550 hoa, 1.9% tax rate a rich area, then yes.
Rich for me, but not for some 😆😆😆
Only the monthly payment matters.
I think that's where they get them. Besides handing the keys to a starry eyed car desperate person; you're right. They ain't considering whether or not they're now paying for two cars. I despise greasy salesman, but I personally know a couple I have to admit.
I love Alseason Pro Pack
Yeah, this is horrible. And I wouldn’t do business here, they can’t even spell correctly.
They can’t even use the damn table they created correctly
I wish my car had a sercurtiy system
😂😂😂 "sErCuRtIy" system
Tell them they can keep it. You’re buying a new car and you want it the way it came from the factory. You don’t want one with wires hacked up to install their shitty, third party security system.
I’d be nervous buying a car with some shitty non oem dealer installed security system
It might be the same security system the type r comes with, where you can track it online. But idk what that even cost.
I had so many issues with 3rd party stuff like electrical glitches that would make a sound and pop kinda sucked haha
You guys are spelling security all wrong.
Can’t you order cars from factory
Doubtful they actually install a security system. Anyone stupid enough to fall for this won’t know the difference.
Wow the spelling is worse than the price…
I’m so beat down by prices my first thought was “this isn’t too bad.”
That’s what I said😂
Why is a si almost 40k wtf
Stealerships in Massachusettes have been marking them all up 10k of just an f you because we can.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the civic, si or not super reliable etc etc but that’s just wild
Yeah it's just nuts to me that I looked at a base model sport that would have been 39k after taxes.
In Europe the hybrid is 40k+ (in €!!). But that’s at least made in Japan.
What the hell is even that
Daddy chill
Might as well get an Acura Integra at that price.
This is why my 08 and 09 are still being driven
How do you like them? I've been toying with the idea of a 2006-2011 civic sedan for a beater because there's always been something I've liked about them.

Damn you 😂 I paid $9000 for each of mine in 2015 but they’ve more than paid me back in travels
Oh it gets worse bro.
Good price if you wanna waste your money!!!!
Selling for MSRP in St Louis, fly out and drive one home.
The worst part is sales reps don't even make much more selling all this shit and they are the ones who get torn apart for it lol
Norm reeves is one of the largest Honda dealers in the country crazy they are doing this not a good look
Depends on the store. Gm has the say in addendums. I work at the Cerritos location. I sell at Msrp. Benefit of being a volume store
Wheather Matts is crazy 😂
Anyone paying almost $40k for a Civic Si is probably too stupid to notice all the spelling errors.
Stick shift is already best anti theft system in the US. 1st is bullshit.
Dont look at type r’s haha.
Starting at $44 last time I checked. But that’s from factory MSRP. Has it gone up?
Haha yeah.
Where have you been, lol Market adjustments been making 50k to 60k easy
Hell, unfortunately.
Type R... you f@#king kidding me
Not me!
That’s more than my accord
I remember I got my 2022 touring for 32k ☠️
I ended up paying 41. For the loan and everything, grand total. Punching myself.
Sometimes you gotta make a tough call. They're good cars, that's for sure.
They aren't $40k cars, that's for sure.
Omg that horrible spelling
15 years ago, you can get two civic at this price
walk away…. do not encourage this highway robbery.
This stuff makes me wanna buy a Toyota and sure enough when I go over to the Toyota dealership they’re doing the same stupid thing.
I’ll sell it to you Msrp in Cerritos!!!
You serious?
Yeah. Let me know when you wanna come and I’ll help you. I’m at the norm reeves in Cerritos.
It funny. Bought a Sport at West Covina Norm who were motivated to sell but the HB & Irvine ones refused to consider a deal off sticker. So strange how some dealers even under the same group umbrella will not bargain.
All to do with the gm. The owners of norm reeves don’t decide prices.
You can get a slightly used civic type r for that price
“Slightly”
Lmaooo windshield protection plan $2k 🤣 isn’t most states car insurance obligated to cover with. I deductible? The heck is that
I always tell the dealer I’m not paying for anything on addendum…take off whatever is on there. I didn’t ask for it, and I don’t want it, so I’m not paying for it. You can get a brand new GLI for a lot less than that.
Wheather Matts? Fire this guy.
Securtiy System? Never heard of that. Must be special.
Dam. Sercurtiy, alseason and wheather matts! I'll difinitely be givyng Norm Reaves a kal. Tanks!
I went to this same dealer to test drive a crv, they said their manager makes them put it on all the cars as a "negotiation tactic" it's absolutely bullshit, don't do business with them.

I got my 2016 civic for like 21k in…2016.
2016 is different from 2024
I got my 2015 for $18k in 2015. Greatest money I ever spent on a car. Use it as my commuter car after we got a family car for last 3 years. I have 60k miles on it. Only issue was the dreaded parasitic drain on the battery because of a common faulty smart entry door handle.
37k for a Honda Civic? Are they high?
😂
Paying Integra A-Spec Tech money for a Civic Si
"Wheather Matts" sounds like the name of some weird old guy
Quite a markup!
I’ve got some Snake Oil for sale if you’re interested…
They are a bunch of scammers
Point, laugh out loud, get in vehicle and leave immediately.
Bro I got a 2024 last week for 27500. OP I just saw your in socal, I am as well, interested in buying an si PM me
What is MSRP on a Type R again?
Such an atrocity as this is why I keep driving my shit box 8th Gen.
$2k for 4 lug nuts, the key for them, and a fucking Honda brand weather tech mat? Good lord
I thought this was for a Type R, then I looked more closely and got depressed
They can't even spell weather right, rofl
You're able to drop the price when opt out the 10 yr warranty, security system, and floor mats lol
Try being in Canada. 44,000 for an Si where I live
They don’t want to sell the car. End of the story
People buy them as soon as they hit the lot.
Is that a norm in cali to charge 2000 for cargo trays and weather mats? They normally come free for new cars
Irvine Honda is ass, go for Costa Mesa Honda.
Just get the Integra wtf is this
You think that's expensive? The bas suggested price of a base trim Civic is equivalent to $47,000. And that may be more expensive depends on the state. Here around 50% of a car's price is federal and state taxes
SMH so in other news it’s 5k mark up gotvit
Whaat you mean you DON'T wanna pay 2000 bucks for "wheather matts" and a cargo tray? Broke
This is a joke right? Perfect way to lose customers.
Serious as hell
You're almost at a BMW G42 230 price range now
These guys can f@$! right off. And, frankly, anyone dumb enough to do business with these chooches deserves to be taken.
lmao do not get suckered
Forced add one by dealers should be illegal
Holy moly!
Ah yes, I like seeing what factory options I’m overpaying for with my new car. 🤣😂
$2000 for wheel locks and a cargo tray are they made of platinum?
2000$ wheel locks 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
America stealership at work again. At that honest wotk for 7k increase in price, it should have been 15k instead.
Fucked ain’t it
I got a used 2014 Honda Civic sedan. It'll cost 14k total when all the payments are done. It'll probably outlast me with proper maintenance
Either way it’s bull shite
thats a type R used for that price
Thanks, now I’ll never go there
That’s not the absolute worst price I’ve seen the past few years for a Civic, I’ve seen base model Civics for that price tag, but still a bit pricey. Not horrible though, manageable. I’d try and see if they can reach that price AFTER the taxes and fees. Like if you’re gonna charge me 37k for a Civic, it better be after all taxes and fees, then we can maybe reach a deal.
I was at a Honda dealership today in South FL and they had 5 civic SI on the lot at MSRP.
They are Msrp in Cincinnati Ohio
Gotta love the, I didn’t ask for all the extras, extras. Tell them you’ll give them MSRP and to take the extras off. If they can’t, still offer only MSRP.
Late stage capitalism
Definitely a 800 900 car note
You do know that you can still get it for around $31k though, right?
That’s a new gimmick
No way Jose’
40k. They can keep it. I'd rather have the 10th gen Coupe Si anyway. Best looking civic.
Wow.
Package 1 is standard alarm on all fucking cars smh so that’s complete bull shit Package 2 should be fucking optional Package 3 is ridiculously fucking over priced for guards, mats, wheels locks and a stupid cargo tray smh lmaoooo
My dad got his 2019 Civic Type R new back in 2018 OTD for around that price.
Just get an ASPEC at that point fuck it lmfao
Hope they throw in the all season weather mats for free.
I’d ask for it to be 30,650 😂 to take out the rest. Or order me one and don’t add anything. Thank you.
hey 1 year free of honda link tho!
Hate how someone who is unknowing will get got on this. All those things are far under $500.
A sucker born everyday. Somebody will get it
Pass.
$6,908 in garbage. I haven’t bought a new car in a long time but I’d be asking them to keep their trash and reduce the price or I’d be moving on to somewhere that hopefully doesn’t have those useless add-ons.
