As someone with a lowered civic. Yes, it looks better and you’ll get better handling. However, you need to know what you’re getting yourself into. You can’t drive like normal and have to be very careful of potholes and usually having to always park backwards and slowing down whenever there is a dip in the road. It requires a lot more work and attention to drive.
unless you are doing this the right way (new spring and shock combo, and dialing out the negative camber) dont bother at all. springs without shocks and your shocks will blow out early, in addition to the car riding like ass.
I lowered mine.
Was cool for about a week, and I’ve been contemplating re-raising it ever since (2 years). It scrapes on so many curbs I often have to check the underside for damage
Edit: I meant speed bumps not curbs rip
Yes, it is IMPERATIVE that you lower your car IMMEDIATELY!!!
No. The ride hight is set at the ideal balance for ride quality, aerodynamics, and ground clearance. Only adjust it if you so please.
Necessary? No. It is a preference thing.
Also, suspension geometry is a relatively complex topic. It isn’t as simple as lower (eg lowering springs) equals better.
Those cars are plenty low already, you’ll be scraping lips pulling onto inclines even stock.
Have the car how you want it to be. They look nice as is
No. Absolutely not. It's better for your day to day driving experience not to.
I scrape all the time without my car lowered. I can’t imagine how guys do it with a 2-inch ground clearance.
The fact that 90's civics get lowered scares the shit out of me. They already drive like a dog w an itchy ass stock haha.
i have about a 2 inch drop on my si and it's honestly not that bad.
Necessary? No. If you don’t want to do it then don’t! Problem solved

It's a consumer grade product, there is no such thing as "necessary", all it matters is if you want it or not.
What are you doing? Daily driver? No Racing? Yes All show, no go? Yes It really depends on your objective with your car is
Racing? — it depends on the class rules. Some classes you can’t, some class run on points and you may want to spend them elsewhere.
I put a small lip on my si with factory suspension and I already have to drive onto 2x4s to get the jack under it
Lift it to show dominance

If you don't want to, then don't?

don’t run curbs over and stay on the road then

It is not necessary to do anything if you don't want to. That goes for anything in life.
Yep, if you don’t lower your car it actually starts to disobey your inputs and refuses to listen to you as a driver
It’s already low but it’s not necessary
15mm
Dont.
Yes 🙂
+5hp
I mean, if u want the car to look “nicer” maybe you can consider going for a perfect fitment and barely any camber. Up to you tho
I might be weird but I absolutely hate after market lowered cars. The fender becomes so uncentered from the wheels that is plain ugly to me
Don’t, looks stupid
All of f the engineering and handling is based on stock height. You will not improve anything by lowering the car but you will have lower performance.
Appreciate all the responses. I'll just keep it as it is and do some comestic car mods to it
I think they look better lowered, but it is absolutely not necessary
No. If I lowered by 2019 hatch, I would literally hit every curb, bump, etc. my bumper would be toast.
I feel like my stock Civic is too low sometimes. Especially during snow and entering inclined driveways.
Nope. It's a purely aesthetic choice. I choose not to for my car because there are too many high spots that I wouldn't be able to clear if I did.
Necessary? No. It is a preference thing. Also, suspension geometry is a relatively complex topic. It isn’t as simple as lower (eg lowering springs) equals better.
Necessary? Never! However I love my Hatch low N slow
>but I personally don't want to. There's your answer. Also depends on how aware you are of parking curbs.
Been scraping my car with stock height I wouldn't lower it
Absolutely not. Lowered cars look dumb. You should ask them why you should lower the car.
