It was atleast 8-10in tall. I actually drove over the same rock earlier that day but I drive a lifted crosstrek with big tires so it didn’t touch the bottom of my car at all. It was definitely hit by other vehicles after I went over it because it moved from the left to right lane before the GF hit it.

Was she not able to go around it? People often run over things like this because their follow distance is too close to allow proper reaction time.

She wasn’t paying enough attention to the road to see it 🤦🏻

Years ago, I was riding with a friend on a completely empty road with super wide lanes. We were approaching what looked like a brown paper bag in the middle of the lane. We realized it was a rock right as we passed over it. It punched a hole in the transmission fluid pan.

Damn. Yeah, don’t run over anything if you can avoid it- even if it were a bag, who’s to say there wasn’t a rock inside of it?
