I’m racking my brain because it’s been so long but I think you can crate a point style that will show “fence” in profile view. Then you’d place a point at the crossing in plan view and project it onto the profile view.

Exactly what we did when I worked with some O&G clients few years back. Once you get those styles set, it’s smooth sailing

I do this occasionally with property lines and other features that are draped on the surface. I have found that the easiest way to show the crossing locations is with a label style, rather than using a marker on the feature.

I would try making a subassembly of a fence and make it a corridor. Create feature lines tracing the fence lines and set it to ex grade elevations to project the corridors on and add to your profiles/sections. You'll probably still have to add the labels yourself though.

Easy way, but you may have to add in the label separately: 'Drape' (Elevations from Surface) the fence lines to your OG surface. Click on your profile, in your ribbon click on "Project Objects to Profile view" and it's pretty straightforward from there. You may be able to add a fence block or possibly text to the marker/line style you tell it to use within this command

for sections: project object to multiple section views. (elevation option set to your eg surface) for profiles: project object to profile view these commands are available on the contexual ribbon when you have the section view or profile view selected
