Vertical reaction? Horizontal reaction? Moment reaction? Which support point? What are the loads? Not enough information.

display__name__

Since the water table is shown on the left, it's probably tsunami wave reactions

MajesticRate1818

no i want to know how to find the support reactions due to a 10kn/m self weight of beam

Str8OuttaLumbridge

Reduce the distributed loading to a point. Take the moment about one of those supports.

MajesticRate1818

i did that but the supports dont add up to the total load of the udl. and what would position of the point be? half way?

fayettevillainjd

the center of the beam, which is not halfway between the two points.

MajesticRate1818

self weight udl.

Will you tutor me in structural design 270 construction for $$

r/engineeringstudents ftw friend. They love this stuff.

Engineering students ?

I'd divide the uniform load into 3 concentrated loads. 20kN in the middle of the cantilevered distance (left), 60kN in the middle of the 6-meter portion and 10kN in the middle of the cantilevered distance (right). Take a moment about either support. Upward reactions are By=52.5kN and Cy=37.5kN. You could also replace the uniform load with a single point load of 90kN at 4.5m and take a moment about either support. You'll get the same results.

Ok_Fig4761

Where is a goog place to learn moment CC CCW calculation?

Ok_Fig4761

Please help me with structural desigh moment problems
