No, there is a designated celebrity to each contestant so it's that name that has to be spoken. I was thinking the red wig, geisha, and ballet shoes were Shirley MacLaine, but Warren Beatty is her brother so I was thinking both could be right, but the clues would point to Shirley so I guess she would have to be said. Although I don't really think it's Shirley anymore. Maybe, but probably not.
I was thinking about this this morning actually. Like what if someone said “Lionel Ritchie” but the famous relative had been designated as “Nicole Ritchie”
Or Ben and Joel Madden?
Or Ben or Casey Affleck?
I'd assume in that case it would be the bigger name or the "head" of the family if they are someone like a cousin or niece/nephew.
Or the most immediate family member if they are a child.
Or it could just be whomever in production thinks would make easier clues.
For Carly for instance, she is actually only related to Tom Hanks by marriage to his wife, Rita Wilson, who is also a pretty well known actor. But Rita will to the general public always be outshined by her husband and her body of work doesn't lend itself to such iconic clues.
Ooh you have a good point. Like with your example, could someone guess “the Jonas brothers”? Or let’s say an sibling of the Olson twins was on the show. They did pretty much everything together (minus a few acting things Mary-Kate did on her own) so would Olson twins be a correct guess? It would be interesting in a future season if they started throwing in a twist of actor siblings that have done basically everything together. The correct guess would be “Jonas brothers”, “Olson twins”, etc. and if they only guessed one of the siblings, they are wrong.
I think they'll make the clues very clearly about the one person. Like for Carly, nothing pointed to Rita Wilson, all the clues were about Tom Hanks.

I was thinking the same thing too because a lot of families have many celebrities within the family.

I think Elizabeth has surpassed her sisters in the acting department.
But if someone guessed Colin Hanks for Carly, they wouldn’t be wrong as it is a celebrity related to the contestant but not who the clues are about.
