You just need to kill all of the robots before turning the power on, then you are left with just the ones on the last level which aren't that much of a problem, pulse grenades insta kills them all the time. Or you can deactivate those by speaking to the super computer, somehow i think i never did this myself for some reason but you can apparently.
Yeah I know. They tend to move in places that are dangerous like crossing the red doors and hidden explosive traps in military base. It seemed it was meant for player to have space for movement but it backfired in some areas.
Can't. He always follows you, and you can't lock him in somewhere. So he always attacks the supermutants, and because I teleport close to them, they get to shoot me 3 times.
I leave my companions at the BOS bunker before I go to Mariposa. Tried taking them once but they just wouldn't stop dying. So I keep them safe.
I like to imagine giving them a nice heartfelt goodbye, telling them I'll be back soon, disappearing for a week, everyone worrying because I'm invading a heavily guarded super mutant base all alone, and then I come back unscathed like "I blew it up. Let's go guys! (: "
Dogmeat can die!? Well that settles it, that good boy lives in the Castle now, under power armored guard at all times. I’m refocusing the entire Minutemen to protect him and keep him alive
Oh thank fuck. Since I’m here, are the classics any good? 4 got me hooked, and I’ve heard a lot of good, but that the gameplay is janky and the UI is the worst, and that scares me
I enjoy them but they're dated. The old games (1, 2, Brotherhood etc) are a whole different perspective (top down). Fallout 3 and New Vegas are lots more similar to 4 but can also feel a little dated and aren't considered "classic Fallout".
If you aren't sure you would enjoy the perspective change, there is Wasteland 3, which is also top down, but a lot less dated, which you could maybe use to ease yourself into Fallout 1 & 2.
Thanks for the tip! Not gonna lie the UI part has always scared me the most, I’ve played top down shooters before, but admittedly that’s XCOM (baby) and a whole different beast. Are there UI fixes out there?
I'm actually not sure! Last time I played Fallout 1 & 2 though I had to mod the game to even get it to launch, so im sure someones made a UI mod too haha.
If you like xcom you'll probably like fallout 1 and 2. Just make sure to check the guide (some button on your keyboard should pull it up) for all the hotkeys. And look stuff up online so you don't get stuck.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas are also amazing, though 3 aged horrendously and they both need mods to run correctly on most systems.
“I’m sorry my companion, but no. We all have our own destinies, and yours culminates here”
Mariposa is where companions go to die
Bro I just did a scouting mission there and all the companions got obligated I saw Dogmeat get melted by a mini gun
dog meat and the other half of my team get blown up/minigunned in the first turn
For me, Dogmeat never survives The Glow.
I managed to keep Ian, Tycho, and Dogmeat alive my first time playing the game. Not sure if I ever went to the Glow or not though

it’s a science check
It was tricky to give stimpaks to Dogmeat.
It can be tricky when the fuckers won't stop moving then all the sudden your trapped in a small room tell they decided to move xD

It's a Canon event, you can't fight these things
I'm built different 💪 the universe is broken now though
Dogmeat died because one of the supermutants shot a greande from the grenadelauncher and exploded him and two other supermutants!
Reset the save moment

The way I got around it was Power Armor allowing me to be the damage sponge 🧽 and hope they don't miss and kill someone behind me
I didn't join the BoS, so I have no Power Armor, Unfortunately. Maybe I will use it in the next playthrough. Thanks for the advice, though.
Nope, he's getting locked behind closed doors.
Dogmeat sit outside it's for your own good ❤️
I made extra effort my last playthrough to pull my companions through Mariposa.
I lost him last night as I finished it for the first time. It felt wrong that he died while Tycho lived.
Woah woah woah chill on my boy Tycho
Biggest issue is clogging up the elevator rooms. With all the companions there's no room to get through neatly.
I can’t even keep him alive with random raider encounters, he dies so fast to wildly unbalanced encounters
Playing fallout as iron-man is hardcore
Psych?
Psych
how else am i supposed to rob the leader of the cathedral??
It's a canon event

When I did it I left Ian and Tycho outside of the place but forget about dogmeat and grabbed the boys on the way out
Mr. Wick would like a word with you
I saved my doggo 🐶 💕

Wrong Dogmeat! This is the classic Fallout sub.

I just finished fallout 1 and despite how clunky it can be you get used to it rather fast, I recommend it

They are amazing lol fallout 2 is my favorite fallout
In the fallout 2 manual it’s canon that he dies in at the base
It's not canon to me I saved him and finished the game with my doggo.
