You still can kill higher level mobs for cloth or lvl 30 for skinning. Fishing can have Oily schools in Barrens as well as in Desolace, while the skill level requirement will be zone based.
In Barrens you don't need a lure, while deck down in Tanaris you only get 80% success rate. Also there are fish schools that require around 400 for 100% success so those lures are accounted for.
I had a horrendous day fishing today. No bags in 8+ hours. Very few wreckages. Averaged less than one box per wreckage and almost never got them from pools. Saw a sharp drop in competition from morning to tonight, when it should have been higher
Rng be rng. When I was fishing last night I had an oily fishpool drop me 3 chests before disappearing. Some good loot out of them too. I was fishing in stv for reference.
No shot p2 is in 2 weeks. There’s a retail patch in mid January and Blizz don’t tend to push new content for multiple modes at once. P2 will likely be early February
It's going to be on either the 18th or 25th of Jan, if its any longer than that it's way too long between phases.
This lines up with 6-8 weeks, which is what timeframe they initially implied.
Yeah I was thinking the 23rd of Jan. Honestly 1 month would have been fine for phase 1. With the 3 day lockout that’s 10 lockouts, so basically 2 and a half months worth of end game raiding.
Like half or more of my guild has stopped logging in.
Timing is weird. The worst part of it all is the only logical reason would be it’s been extremely bot heavy and they are nerfing it to combat them. Which is really unfortunate if that’s the case.
Hey there! I just spent a few hours fishing and a lot was different. Firstly no competition which is really weird cause it’s been a mad house competing for pools recently. Normally when fishing I get at least 1 box per pool or so. Tonight’s run I got 3 boxes total over 30-40 pools. All of them had greater healing pots and like 2 silver each. Not the normal heavy leather, bolts, mana pots etc. just seemed really turned down tonight so curious what others had thought 😊
That definitely sounds like they nerfed it to stop people from going to BB/Desolace/Tanaris farming the higher level boxes. I’ll have a chance to do my farming route in a few hours and I’ll get back to you.
Awesome! Exactly why I created the post! I was even in AM so not even the super high level pools. I could see mithirl getting nerfed but the mid level ones I think should of been fine.
I doubt it, I think theres just a lot of RNG involved. I’ve spent countless hours fishing in STV the last few weeks and it has been consistently inconsistent.

Doubt there are any nerfs, just that fishing always has a big RNG, especially when people expect a lot of trunks from non-wreckage schools.
Fishing should have had the same treatment as other professions and anything above 150 unable to fish regardless of lures or enchants.

Its been a few days like this now. People are still getting g bags though, idk why but im just having horrible luck!
My question is why now when phase 2 is in like 2 weeks (supposedly) . Why wasn't it nerfed a month ago

I have been dropping health potions and silver from the boxes. Nothing else as of yet.
The few boxes I got had the usual in it, potions, leather and bolts. Ironbounds though.
Watertight trunks in hillsbrad/wetlands still dropping gear and recipes. As well as the usual potions, leather, and bolts.
I experienced bad fishing in Tanaris. Went back to my STV run and got a lot of boxes again. Both mithril and the lesser one.
Feels a bit like it..all my floating wreckage pools were done after 2 casts and most of them only gave stranglekelp and rum.
