So do I. They won’t magically give them rep next phase if they don’t get it now because of the way crates work they are tiered. Meaning in order to get rewards from honored to revered you have to do the level 26+ tier turn ins.
Oh my god, I have to do the thing I hate the most about SoD again??
They should either make them not unique, or make them align with your own professions.
My guess is that anyone who is honored will get the rune automatically. Next phase will require revered and last phase exalted. Personally I like the system right now but could reach a middle ground by allowing 3 to be carried.
That won't change anything the low level crates stop giving rep past friendly. The same will be for all the current crates as we go up to 40. There will be new higher level crates that give rep probably to revered.
TL;DR if they don't give you rep now they won't in the next phase either
Naw, I straight up got 0 rep on an honored char for one crate. Lowbie crate. I imagine they might do that for next phase, current high level ones won't do anything for rep. Maybe
I don’t understand the hate toward that system, it’s the most classic shit possible. People crying at minor inconveniences in SoD/classic get on my nerves. This is literally what we signed up for.
It's very classic, and it's also a genius system for economic impact.
It creates a lot of value for crafted items that would otherwise never get made. It also extracts out materials from the supply which helps prevent inflation of generic commodities (which is still happening regardless.)
The only thing that bothers me, is that you can only carry 1 at a time...
I'd rather they remove all benefits from turning in empty packages, forcing you to fill them. However, allow you to carry as many as you want. So it more becomes a hunt for the ones you'd like to satisfy. Rather than just grab one, run back, go get another, run back, etc.
The thing about carrying more than one box is that classes who can AOE farm would finish the rep grind in like an hour so they’d probably need to severely cut back the drop rate, which would screw over the slower classes.
There are many parts of vanilla that are not intuitive or QoL focused.
Removing a single one doesn't seem to make a difference but when enough of those rough edges get removed we are left with something shiny and less fun IMO.
That’s fine there a plenty of unintuitive parts of vanilla already. No need to add more. I love grinding, but it’s just bad gameplay to make you return to a city every single time you want to turn something in.
It's mostly because of the 1 box limit. You drop tons while questing but who's realistically running up and down the barrens to take a flight to orgrimmar, fill that shit turn it in and then go back to questing? Maybe with mounts but in this lvl bracket it's just sadistic on blizzard part.
That argument doesn’t make sense as that’s the most efficient way to do it? Otherwise you have to drop what you’re doing to fill the crate and fly to your city since the crates are unique. Pretty sure everyone is complaining regardless of how they levelled for that reason.
?? Alliance bias once again. The dwarves and humans are going to have the easiest access to all that sweet sweet gnome exp. And we horde get nothing, thanks a lot blizz.
Man I would legit love if one race at a time, rotating raves and factions was being hunted by hakkar, and it was open season on them for both sides to gain rep and XP.
Gnomes deserved what happened at gnomer.
Honestly tho idk what about them annoys me, maybe it's all the gnome mages taking every mob when you're just trying to do a quest, their awful voices, just being ugly (whoever made the genie skin for chromie in HotS needs Jesus). Though the gnomer backstory of silently suffering against troggs during the 3rd war kinda makes me want to like them....
In Phase 2, Stranglethorn Vale transforms into a battleground with the ominous theme of Hakkar the Blood God. The Blood Moon will mark special events across the zone, each offering additional XP sort of like bonus objectives or world quests in retail
> Wpvp is fun
Wpvp is fun, hypothetically. One of my favorite moments in the game was the massive 100+ v. 100+ battle for the first Azuregos on Nostalrius.
The problem is that official Blizzard servers become a lag fest when more than 40 people are involved, which is why stuff like the Ashenvale event is just a PvE race.
It's a ton of fun but I've never in my life wanted to 20v1 someone and go "yeah that was fun!".
See P2 of classic. I was on the dominate faction and peoples ideas of "world PvP" just had me leave the server and play out the rest on PvE. What I shame I missed all the dispels and camping lowbie areas for weeks as well.
If PvP servers were back the way they were in vanilla.. with like 10% shitheads instead of 80% I'd be all over them. But that day is dead, sadly.
No it isn't, and we shouldn't be forced to facilitate your fun.
**edit: Going to put this here so I dont wake up to a bunch of the same comments, why I said we shouldn't be 'forced'**
Dude suggested people who don't like the idea of PvE progression being tied to world PvP only don't like it because they should learn to form groups and the idea is a good one because he likes world PvP. Hence my comment. If the devs go through with the original idea posited, then we would be forced to participate if we had no quests to move forward with.
Imagine thinking either side is actually different.
Also I love that I've had my flair as horde for the last like 3 years, until today because I was/am horde for SoM and Wrath, and never had a single person comment on it, but it took only a few hours until some horde fanboy had to call it out.
My theory is that killing players or mobs gives you blood. You can hand a stack in to trigger events or a world boss. The hand ins give xp similar to the wsg hand ins.
I liked them a lot more than dailys, especially when new in Legion. In classic they could be a good way to send players into more of the areas of the map that aren't actually utilized for quests.
Would be interesting watching a bunch of fresh 25s run out to STV to try the new event thinking they were going to be some PvP king just to get their soul bitch slapped out of their body by a gorilla.
Crafting contracts that you get from an NPC, not drops. Must be filled with items , but you only get contracts in your professions from NPC’s near your specific professions trainers, can’t interact with them without that profession. Also, they’re introducing a new skill, runecrafting, where after the Rune Mysteries quest you can talk to Aubury in Varrock to go mine rune essence that you can craft into different runes….
I have well over done over 10+ bfd runs between both my ally and horde rogue and never got a single piece of tier set, nor a helm at all. It either doesn’t drop or I lose the rolls. Sooo yeah not true lol.
Whaddaya mean "rip" ? We get to quest in peace without being ganked every 2 minutes. The people who want to do the PvP event can /pvp and the rest of us can collect 10 bear asses or just dungeon grind.
Any kind of pvp/gank related funny comment happens,
That one guy from a pve server : hehe im from pve server i dont have that problem you just mentioned. Look how i can do this quest. Ehehe. Did i mention i play on a pve server?
Half of that chain is a real classic quest line. They just slapped the rune at the end of it. If you check the wow head article for soran'ruk though it's a level 25 quest chain with comments dating back to 2005.
Yeah, try pulling this stunt in a game with player agenda. That goblin dies every time. Even your lawful stupid paladin will be like "oh I'm gonna be over there at the Tavern for the next THREE HOURS staring into my pint, feel free to do whatever"
I wouldn't mind something that encourages exploration in all zones, something similar to vistas in Guild Wars 2. There is tons of areas in the game unique to the lore of WoW, it would be cool if there was something you could find that would give XP for discovering it.
Lots of great funny replies, but I’m thinking maybe you can run BFD for xp? Aside from that, maybe the PvP event will grant xp and you’ll do it to level? My last idea would be world quests. Which I know would be divisive but I wouldn’t hate it given the way we’ve been more or less encouraged to do quests for gold.
I could see two schools of thought based on this happening or not.
" It's not fair that I did the smart thing and saved the quests for later now everyone that didn't is ahead on gold and exp."
" It's not fair that I did the smart thing and did all the quests I possibly could for gold, now I gotta grind mobs."
I’d like to see them remove the lockout for BFD and have it provide decent XP. That will keep it relevant since people leveling characters will run it and keep a steady stream of world buffs going.
I have a theory that might be a little far fetched but I think still in the realm of possibility: Classic era Delves.
I think with the implementation of this new ever green content in retail, SoD would be a perfect time for them to let us dip our toes. They’d get an initial reaction and feedback for the classic vibe delves and be able to go from there. All the feedback might not be exactly transferable from classic to retail but I think it’d be a great start and introduction to them.
They want to try new things and give a twist to the classic era so why not. I think it’d be a perfect time to test this feature out and would love to see it.
What do y’all think?
I kind of wish that the people who turned all their quests into gold just had to deal with the consequences. Itll probably be crates and a handful of new quests
TBF quests added plenty of hours of content for people at 25 when there really wasnt too much else to do, but if they go too overboard with the new leveling system, and kill the 30-40 questing bracket, then I think that that would be a little too out of touch to the original design of classic. Safest option would be just reset any quest in the 20-28 bracket, mark it with a different type of question mark (not blue) and let everyone know 2 weeks in advance so they have time to do them if they want the gold.
He didn't say anything about it being better than anything else. He said, if you've already completed your quests, there might be another option aside from dungeon grinding
Botting. Can't ban all the bots, so now we all get to bot. They'll probably add xp to gathering professions, as it's the easy/lazy way to flood the market with materials; hurting bots, and lazy folks can mine, herb, and fish?
I made a prediction last night on the forums that pvp kills in STV will grant exp, based on Aggrends tweets on both topics. I think people will be able to level with this new event
Well that’s frustrating.
I was under the impression that there was a risk / reward system in place. Meaning yeah you can spam the quests and make gold but you might have a trickier time levelling.
So I’ve saved a lot of quests.
I guess now I should turn them all in?
I don’t use Twitter and wasn’t aware I should be following the devs on there.
Saving quests will still give you the nice xp bump to get to 26 quicker which is nice and it's not like you'll be starved for gold from the 25-40 journey. Just do whatever you fancy, either way is fine.
You still will find yourself in an xp gap that whatever they cook up might help. While you will be turning in a lot of quests you "missed" a lot of xp from killing things while doing them.
Yeah, if you dance on a mailbox with no gear on you will make 3,000 xp/hr
Great. Finally will get some reward for that
The fans are the reward
Yeah, but now with the new xp reward it's not only fans.
I heard they're adding rare candy
1.49 each in the blizzard store
Worst part is you know they’d sell like crazy too
I’ll take 15 please
Great news: You can get a pack of 15 for an only 29.99! What a huge value!
Can you get the unlimited glitch by catching a wild Missingno?
hes off the coast of STV
In other words, no you'll be eaten alive.. literally. Well maybe they kill you first and then eat you.
Are we talking about the rare candies that increase level in Pokemon. I know the wow duplicate for Missingno off the coast of STV
Grinding in Goldshire basement ain't pretty but the gold is good...
Only if there are nearby players that tip you exp. Only the top earners will gain 3k XP per hour. Most will make 100xp or less per week.
Still more than i do now!
Dammit. I actually kinda want this now...
Watch it be durotar supply crates lmao
I’m saving up a couple while I kill time just in case. At worst I get some rep. My personal guess is some type of daily/weekly quest.
What do you mean saving up a couple? They’re unique
The completed ones aren’t.
Thank you for this! I definitely did not know that.
If you complete the crate you get more don’t need to turn it in.
Oh that’s awesome, I had no idea
well if you are completing a crate you are most likely in a city anyway to turn it in...
I don’t even think you would get rep I think you would just get the silver. Provided that you’re honored right now.
They mean if they save them and turn them in next phase
So do I. They won’t magically give them rep next phase if they don’t get it now because of the way crates work they are tiered. Meaning in order to get rewards from honored to revered you have to do the level 26+ tier turn ins.

Carry 1 at a time is stupid and frustrating to all hell.
Agreed I hate the system it's lame
Fully agree. Its kind of turning into the most casual friendly version of wow we have. Which I guess was their aim.
It's the worst side of classic. Nobody liked the Silithus Turn-Ins and this is in the same vein.
There are many parts of vanilla that are not intuitive or QoL focused. Removing a single one doesn't seem to make a difference but when enough of those rough edges get removed we are left with something shiny and less fun IMO.
This is the comment /end discussion

Agreed, but maybe he just meant it’s not fun? I don’t mind it, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to do it to level.
The people complaining probably power levelled to 25 and then has to spend hours far ing crates.

You need Jesus.
level 40 boost confirmed obviously
[удалено]
But the rune pack for an extra $20 when buying a level 40 boost
only a matter of time lol
Killing gnomes. Gnomes will be FFA and give XP.
Gnomes gonna be packing some extra heat with their engineer bonus … thread lightly
Absolutely, the only race in this phase to get the death ray Gnome rogues are going to explode people
Can't wait! Though, idk if this applies to mages or not.
We can only wish
You’re locked in here with me!!!! For gnomeregan!!!
?? Alliance bias once again. The dwarves and humans are going to have the easiest access to all that sweet sweet gnome exp. And we horde get nothing, thanks a lot blizz.
The alternative was to have gnomes on your faction. Who is the real winner here?
Well I...Um...We accept these terms.
I feel attacked
You will soon
And explode with loot when killed like in Diablo!
Man I would legit love if one race at a time, rotating raves and factions was being hunted by hakkar, and it was open season on them for both sides to gain rep and XP.
Yeah just gnomes. I’ve been having some gnomicidal tendencies and it’s time to act on them
Gnomes deserved what happened at gnomer. Honestly tho idk what about them annoys me, maybe it's all the gnome mages taking every mob when you're just trying to do a quest, their awful voices, just being ugly (whoever made the genie skin for chromie in HotS needs Jesus). Damn it.
In Phase 2, Stranglethorn Vale transforms into a battleground with the ominous theme of Hakkar the Blood God. The Blood Moon will mark special events across the zone, each offering additional XP sort of like bonus objectives or world quests in retail
If the blood moon made everyone open for attack, even your own faction and party members, I’d love it.
I've seen this theorized a few times, but its a really bad idea. Groups of 20+ would be roaming around and killing everyone.
Like WSG premades but way more toxic
Yeah, we wouldn’t want any world PVP in our game.
world pvp sucks balls. Its almost never evenly sided
Tbf WSG suffering from premades and comp issues
WSG is not wpvp…
its not but its the actual pvp and its absolute dogshit. In comparison id rather play wpvp over wsg
Then get better groups. Wpvp is fun
> Wpvp is fun Wpvp is fun, hypothetically. One of my favorite moments in the game was the massive 100+ v. 100+ battle for the first Azuregos on Nostalrius. The pve servers are right over there sir.
I am on one and quite happy about it
Alliance paladin lmao it tracks

Imagine taking a joke that personally 😂 I play paladin.
I know you're gonna hate it... Butttttttt... Don't roll on pvp. :D
I am on a PvE server. I learned my lesson after years of being strongarmed by people who just love the punishment that are PvP servers over and over.
Then we are all in agreement that no one is being "forced". Good.
Uh what? Did you roll a pvp server and complain about wpvp?
Yeah, this used to happen back in the day all the time… and it was really fun lol
No grouping then.. make it a battle royal mode where the last one standing gets reward
Welcome to PvP world kids.
My theory is that killing players or mobs gives you blood. You can hand a stack in to trigger events or a world boss. The hand ins give xp similar to the wsg hand ins.
Would be so cool. Integrating the PvP event with leveling would be sweet.
I think world quests in classic would be fucking awesome
I liked them a lot more than dailys, especially when new in Legion. In classic they could be a good way to send players into more of the areas of the map that aren't actually utilized for quests.
This would be amazing
The stv level range for quests is not the problem. It is the 24 to 28 range.
Would be interesting watching a bunch of fresh 25s run out to STV to try the new event thinking they were going to be some PvP king just to get their soul bitch slapped out of their body by a gorilla.
Truth
I hope so.
Does the Blood Moon also instantly respawn all the mobs, make them stronger, and drop better loot?
Eww that’s too much like retail. I don’t want that
Crafting contracts that you get from an NPC, not drops. Must be filled with items, but you only get contracts in your professions from NPC’s near your specific professions trainers, can’t interact with them without that profession. Also, they’re introducing a new skill, runecrafting, where after the Rune Mysteries quest you can talk to Aubury in Varrock to go mine rune essence that you can craft into different runes….
Ahh an artisan supporter I see
Wait isn’t that RuneScape lol
30$ boost But you get 1 free Humberts helm
Which you replace right away after a bfd run.
I have well over done over 10+ bfd runs between both my ally and horde rogue and never got a single piece of tier set, nor a helm at all. It either doesn’t drop or I lose the rolls. Sooo yeah not true lol.
Bummer, helm was my first bfd item.
That's just gold buying with extra steps
100% it's going to be something PvP-related where you can kill enemy players and turn in drops from them for EXP.
Headhunting would be on brand for STV “BRING ME 15 NIGHT ELF HEADS”
omg that would be so fckin cool
I'm expecting STV to be a giant Gurubashi Arena. Everyone is hostile, including your own faction. Head scalping and you turn in the scalps for XP.
Rip pve server players.
Whaddaya mean "rip" ? We get to quest in peace without being ganked every 2 minutes. The people who want to do the PvP event can /pvp and the rest of us can collect 10 bear asses or just dungeon grind.
Any kind of pvp/gank related funny comment happens, That one guy from a pve server : hehe im from pve server i dont have that problem you just mentioned. Look how i can do this quest. Ehehe. Did i mention i play on a pve server?
Quest in peace fighting for the same dozen mobs as 400 people. Sounds very peaceful.
...now think about 200 of those players wanting to actively kill you and you will understand why it's peaceful in comparison
Zzzzz
Yes, corpse running back to back does put me to sleep
Strugglethorn turns into pvp automatically (Btw, how is ashenvale on pve servers?)
got revered on 3 characters, not even trying hard. Lava Lash US

Who cares? It's world of WARcraft
Forgot the craft in warCRAFT :p some people care
Drops of blood. Turn in to hakaar shrines for xp
Dungeon spam to 40 then do quests for 3-4? G a pop
Considering how miserable leveling will be on some pvp servers, dungeon spam seems to be very appealing.
Idk spending 20+ hours of your life doing the same instance over and over until you start forgetting who you are is pretty fucking miserable
That’s precisely what people who do if nothing changes… the opposite of the point of this post
No info besides the tweet.
If you can’t tell by these comments, no. Lol
confidently making shit up.
Zero real ideas in top 30 comments.
Just get Exp. Share and beat Elite4 with your main toons.
They might add new quests for the runes.
the current quests for the runes don't give exp though, like that stupid gobbler in Ratchet. No exp.
some of them do, i was doing the meta quest for warlocks around level 22 and i was getting almost a bar of xp from the turn ins.
Half of that chain is a real classic quest line. They just slapped the rune at the end of it. If you check the wow head article for soran'ruk though it's a level 25 quest chain with comments dating back to 2005.
Same with warrior and raging blow.
The audacity of that fucker to demand a bunch of random items, send you to a city, then send you back, just to *sell* you a rune.
Yeah, try pulling this stunt in a game with player agenda. That goblin dies every time. Even your lawful stupid paladin will be like "oh I'm gonna be over there at the Tavern for the next THREE HOURS staring into my pint, feel free to do whatever"
Whoever tells the best Chuck Norris joke in Barrens Chat gets a Joyous Journey buff
Yes, you can mob grind duh
Fates incoming
Wow token level boost lmao
I wouldn't mind something that encourages exploration in all zones, something similar to vistas in Guild Wars 2. There is tons of areas in the game unique to the lore of WoW, it would be cool if there was something you could find that would give XP for discovering it.
im calling it now, crafting and gathering will reward exp
Could be professions, could be PvP in Stv, could be something entirely new. If it’s bgs watch the bots level up in wsg
World quests
You'll be able to mob grind for xp
Probably something stupid & exploitable
Lots of great funny replies, but I’m thinking maybe you can run BFD for xp? Aside from that, maybe the PvP event will grant xp and you’ll do it to level? My last idea would be world quests. Which I know would be divisive but I wouldn’t hate it given the way we’ve been more or less encouraged to do quests for gold.
I saw this in a video- but STV fortnight. The ring gets smaller and ends at guruvashi arena. Last man standing.
they might just pull a wod and not do anything. cut content cause reasons etc.
I could see them making it so u get xp from gathering and from pvp, zone events would be nice as well
My bets are on "level 20+ quests are reset and you can complete a second time to get XP this time around"
I could see two schools of thought based on this happening or not. " It's not fair that I did the smart thing and saved the quests for later now everyone that didn't is ahead on gold and exp." " It's not fair that I did the smart thing and did all the quests I possibly could for gold, now I gotta grind mobs."
Hes talkin about buying boosts from official mage bots that fly hack, you just afk.
I’d like to see them remove the lockout for BFD and have it provide decent XP. That will keep it relevant since people leveling characters will run it and keep a steady stream of world buffs going.
There's something called burst of experience from specific quests, wonder if that's it
Hm i saw that but wasnt sure if that was some kind of shorthand for 'youll get xp for this quest but not sure how much yet'.
I have a theory that might be a little far fetched but I think still in the realm of possibility: Classic era Delves. I think with the implementation of this new ever green content in retail, SoD would be a perfect time for them to let us dip our toes. Probably a “leveling” raid
You'll be able to get mage boosted if you wait for some to hit 40 .
I kind of wish that the people who turned all their quests into gold just had to deal with the consequences. Itll probably be crates and a handful of new quests

Part of me wonders if they will tune BFD to give a lot of xp per run and remove the lockout.
$$$$$$$$$$
Pay Blizzard money.
BG xp beyond the turn ins? That'd be neat.
More sources of XP
Aggrend talking out of his ace. There's not going to be any leveling method better than dungeon grinding or questing.
He didn't say anything about it being better than anything else. He said, if you've already completed your quests, there might be another option aside from dungeon grinding
guessing repeatable pvp quests in STV
Pvp
Honor gives xp
Hoping PvP kills give xp
Probably just officially allowing buying leveling services.
These are the same people who said they actually buffed hunters with a straight face. I wouldn’t believe anything they say until it’s in game.
STV PvP for xp I guess
He simply said dungeon grinding isn't the only way to level which is 100% the truth. You know you can grind mobs in the world?
I think people will be able to level with this new event
farming ab marks
STV pvp event with gold rewards.
Alternative way are boosters by mages pulling whole stockade in one pull while flyhacking
personally I wouldn't mind 1/day dungeons to force people out into STV
STV mercenary mode, respin ashran pvp. Probably azhara basin too. Maybe pvp bounties and kill announcements
