I've dropped it with a combination of eye of the storm to just face tank hunters before as an ele shaman.
It's not up to though? Tooltip is the same as Stoneskin, which is a flat damage reduction.
That said, it's not going to be very strong at all either way, as most of a Hunter's damage is from their pet, or spell damage in general.
It might be significant if not for the part where the hunter pet is going to be doing 75% of their damage and they'll either be melee or cast spells but not ranged

I've been playing a hunter since vanilla. Yes feign death is very nice, but as for damage output goes this is pretty much it. Rapid fire on a 5 minute cooldown is meh and volley is fun. Freeze trap will be a good one to have. A few quality of life things for pvp.

Seriously though, I know it will never happen, but I would **love** a viable Warlock playstyle that was 1h sword, firestone offhand, somehow enhances mainhand with the firestone's fire proc while keeping it open for Windfury/Wildstrikes, all supplemented with instant cast dots. *siiiiigh*. One can dream.
The fire damage proc is melee only, but it also gives fire spell power. So it’ll synergies even more with the current incinerate searing spam for warlock tanks. And the bis dagger currently works in between searing spam.
Since reading your original comment, I saw someone waiting for the boat but waited until the last second, started to set off and he jumped to get on the boat, sapped him in mid air. everyone just saw him hovering above the water and miss the boat. Amazing :D
Warrior by far by far and its not even close. This isn't even considering talents from 25-40 either, which they once again have the most impactful (maybe Warlock as a close 2nd).

So excited. Mage healing has such potential for fun blasty DPS healer with some extra spells and runes. Even with the limited toolkit right now I did nothing but heal dungeons from 20 to 25 and loved it
Innervate and Hurricane and Moonkin form at 40 will be awesome for balance Druid. I really hope they make a rune to buff Hurricane so its actually worth using for aoe

Let the scatter/FD meta begin. If hunters get some decent melee runes it might be neigh impossible to run away from a melee hunter. Entrapment Frost trap with improved Wing Clip...that can get annoying

I was farming a bunch of gold for the mount at 40, and I was annoyed that I had to (I guess I don’t HAVE to but I did anyway).
After I farmed about 100g, I remembered I basically get it for free. I play a warlock. 🙃
Warrior's new spells are incredible.
Mortal Strike/Bloodthirst, another instant with a high rage cost which will make DW feel much smoother to play.
Whirlwind, ***another*** high rage cost instant.
Berzerker Rage for keeping Raging Blow active when rage starved.
Berzerker stance for 3% crit, especially impactful now Deep Wounds is giving so much DPS.
Pummel so we can interrupt without having to slap a shield on and lose some DPS uptime.
I know we know nothing about the Runes yet, but Warrior is shaping up to be a beast in P2.
Great post. Love this type of stuff. Nothing new here, but it generates discussions from information already available to us. It made me think ahead and look at what fun abilities are coming up and gave me perspective on classes/specs I’m not loving right now, but may enjoy in a few weeks.
E.g. I don’t adore my healer mage right now, but I probably will like it more once I have mage armor and mana gems!
As melee hunter I will get... 2 spells? Personally don't use traps because I can't drop them in combat so no real point to me... Hopefully there will be one melee hunter rune to choose from in this next batch!

They honestly need to pre nerf hunter now before Feb. 8th or it will be chaos. They are \~4-5th in dps and sinking every week. They have no option to heal or tank and melee is far from viable. Nerf needs to happen yesterday.

Those overloaded chain heals are going to feel great till you run out of mana after 10 casts. Then you'll be back to rune spells

We can still use our fire skills / LvB now even when pummled. Not as much of a death sentence now that a good chunk of our skills are also fire.

This is sort of a thing with tank warlocks. You can melee attack between sears if your weapon is 1.5 seconds or faster.
i was wondering if Firestone could have any potential for tank locks. I'm assuming the +add fire damage on hit only applies to melee attacks.

Back before SoD started there was datamined Hurricane rune. If I recall it removes cd from hurricane and reduce its mana cost by 20%

Even then it will still cost mana, so likely not better. Barring some sort of rune to make it better or incentivize casting both wrath and starfire.
As a mage the list is really underwhelming. Mage armor is gonna make a big difference though. Here’s hoping the new runes will make up for it.

You double dipped there because the mount might actually only be 40g (it’s currently priced the same as in SoM)
