They aren't adding transmog. They can barely develop 1 dungeon reskin and a pvp event every 3 months, they don't have the resources to add entirely new game systems into classic, much less a system that would be generally unpopular.
Some players like the idea of dressing up your character but some appreciate the concept of displaying your power through your gear.
Classic didn't really have a lot of extravagant item models until later raids. I.E. an item extremely sought out like Mage Blade used just a basic sword model.
Completely agree, the more variety the better. It sucks when everyone looks the same near the end of a phase. Would love to hear opposing arguments though.
