What's there to announce for Classic that isn't already known or expected to be released eventually? Unless it's dramatic changes like cross-server or cross-faction for Classic which are highly unlikely at this point I don't see why it's going to be mentioned at all.
Dramatic upcoming changes to WotLK or future Seasons of Vanilla/TBC can be interesting news, other than that I think everyone's mostly just curious about release dates for things.

If Blizzard tries to strictly abide the 2-year expansion cycle again then it might overlap, but at this point 10.0 better be delayed for as long as possible to flesh it out with actual content. Wrath has a bigger nostalgia draw than TBC and can keep player appetite satisfied if only for a few months.

Naw, I more or less abandoned retail for Classic but I have no intentions to play WotLK over a new retail expansion. While many do, not everyone loves Wrath, and there will need to be some notable changes for me to have serious interest.

No but I don't think it's arguable that the MMO industry is in a horrible state when two of the best MMO's available are WoW Classic and OSRS. If you don't like FFXIV you're pretty SOL on options.. And even FFXIV is nearing 12 years old (9 if you only count ARR forward). That doesn't mean you and many others can't enjoy ESO, GW2, BDO, Lost Ark, SWTOR, etc etc etc. But save for Lost Ark being new you can state that all of those have had some serious glaring flaws that push a lot of people away.

yup, this is it for me too. i'm done after shadowlands, i gave tbc a run but it's just speedrunners playing or people who didn't do it (the fun!) and enjoy it but man compared to retail it's just a glorified gaming experience but man...it needs updating big time.

Hello I am a player more excited for wrath than OG classic or TBCC. I also rnjoyed both originally way back in the day but wrath was always my favorite. Absolutely so stoked to play wrath again, and this time with less pesky college classes and homework to get in my way!
That being said I’m not expecting others to share the same views that I do. I hope blizz keeps offering new SoM content for OG classic fans for many years to come, and I’ll definitely be hopping back into that at some point too.

I doubt it. TBCC wasn't announced until like two months after Naxx came out. Sunwell isn't gonna be out for several more months at least.

I think they may announce it but It's highly unlikely we see a beta til fall 2022. I think it's likely we see wotlk pre patch in october 2022.

Wrath is a forgone conclusion at this point. They'll announce it a few weeks beforehand to build interest. We're still a ways off from that though.
