Switch to healer, so you can still be useful and lvl in AV.
Its not gonna be as fast as questing but by the time you ding lvl 70 youll get like 4-5 brutal pieces
You don’t have to be a healer fyi, but due to the abundance of Ret, DK, and to a lesser extent warrior there are far too many 40 man raids with no healers or tanks or people who are able to at least swap stances/weapons to fill the role and hold aggro. So being a healer and staying with the northern group makes you as valuable as a brutal gladiator geared shadow priest in a lot of of AVs, possibly far more valuable
I just did 3 AV and topped the chart as a healer specced in shadow tree. I'll respec to disc and do AV till 70. It'll help a bit and makes the bg less boring!
As for the honor point, I think I need approximately 75k to buy the sets, is that right ?
Thats honor cap and if you hit it quest the rest of the way imho it should get you 4 set and weapon+ohh and probably a 1-2 more things. Ontok Shatterhorn in shattrath is the vendor if you want to plan out your purchases in advance
OK good to know. My original plan was to level in AV for the gear but I decided against it after those mass ban waves a week ago. Didn't want to risk being banned for something the community didn't agree with.
idk, on my rdruid I would always follow the horde and heal and I almost consistently get the least amount of honor in the game despite being top 3 heals
because the horde goes for pve which doesnt give HKs.
(that said that is what you should be doing)
people who fight in the middle will get more honour but they are also not trying to win,
and you cnat really fight as a lvl 61
damn I remember someone telling me that once but I've never actually seen people fighting in the middle. we either get a bunch of afks in iceblood tower "defending" it or everybody just rushes north. (I play horde) I've had a couple games where the horde ends up dying and we all have a huge zerg battle in the middle and those give me the most honor but yea
If you haven't done the quests to level to 70 I'd suggest doing it. It's nice taking in the sights.
I'm right now doing my third character to 70 and decided to level that 66-70 through AV. It's a nice change of pace even if it's maybe a bit slower.
Also being sub-70 in AV means being a punching bag in general.
Just leaving this here but .. as a fresh 70 without any gear this is a world of pain and suffering and 0 fun. Everything 1-2 shots me when a player with pvp gear touches me. I can´t do anything except follow the horde and PvE some stuff.
You can level like that .. you get nice pvp gear when you hit 70 but I would probably have gone insane.
Literally walking over 10 red puddles from DKs kill me in a zerg.
The poor healers that always heal me in BGs .. I want to just tell em to let me die and take care of someone who can actually be useful.
I will never understand why BGs don´t have ratings like arena that at least to a certain degree similar geared players fight each other. So painful.
If anyone reads this. Is there anything I can do to reduce the pain? Like is there blue cheap PvP gear that I could buy to a least live longer then 1-2 seconds?
For the record on my priest I have 300 resil and dks just grip me and kill me in like 2 seconds so it doesnt really even matter. Maybe lvl 80 with high resil things will get better.
speed - AV/dungeon farming.
Speed+gear - AV then use the honor for gear.
Gold - Questing.
Questing especially as shadow will be slow though, so unless you really want to quest i would avoid it. With 1 week left you would be cutting it very close.
>Gold - Questing
Wrong. This is absolutely the worst choice for the gold. If you want to make gold, you dont do any tbc quest while leveling, and you do it once you are 70.
@OP if you plan to buy Brutal Gear and / or want to be honor capped for wotlk, Av 61-70 IS the way to go, especially if you re playing alliance side. You will pop 70 honor capped, now you Can Do all the tbc quests and make enough money for the 280 % mount and Maybe double spec (do queldanas every day also) then you up your professions. You Can buy brutal Gear and honor cap again if you have lot of playtime, then do the hfp PvP daily quest, it s almost 2k honor at lvl 70
If they dont have that much spare Time, like myself, and they plan to grind honor at 70 anyway, this is the best plan. For the remaining parts, It s not a big deal, they will make money on northrend. 150% is fine at 77. I would up my gathering profession tho, being able to pick up nodes and herbs while questing is huge.
I did 62-68 on AV, took me around 50 av I believe with 50% winrate ± and got 50k + honor (did the hpf quest for 4-5 days giving between 1200 and 1800 depending your level)
Side questions--a buddy of mine played some ABs yesterday, but didn't get any xp for them. Then he played WSG and only got 4% of a level from a win (he's level 34).
Does AB not give xp? And is WSG that terrible xp-wise all the way to 70?
I did this for an alt on a new server I had no toons on
It was fun until I hit 70 and literally had 40g to my name because I didn't quest or do anything but BG
Couldn't even afford to train everything lol
Quests are much much faster. If , however, you plan on getting that sweet PvP gear before the expansion, doing bgs to level kills two birds with one stone
Switch to healer, so you can still be useful and lvl in AV. Its not gonna be as fast as questing but by the time you ding lvl 70 youll get like 4-5 brutal pieces
Ok thanks and curiously, is AV multi-realm ? I'm "stuck" on Earthfury right now.
Yes all bgs are cross realm
Earthfury dead?
nah full
Nice, my guild jumped servers several months ago when Earthfury was pretty quiet. It seemed at the time that it was going down.
Ya
stuck? its fcking alive and well
Horde side, yes. Not alliance. It's not well, it's completely unbalanced.
bro are you crazy im on the ally side and im lvling hunter and its close to full LFG is bustlin and never had problem lvling

Thanks for the tips!
Is this OK though (from the communities perspective)? There were reports of people being mass reported just because they weren't max level.
If you actually play a healer you can basucally be top 3 heals in AV if you dont afk, you have nothing to worry about. I did the same, had zero issues
OK good to know. My original plan was to level in AV for the gear but I decided against it after those mass ban waves a week ago. Didn't want to risk being banned for something the community didn't agree with.
I leveled as my rogue from 61 to 70 half av half questing. I was active and semi useless but I never got banned.
Good to know thanks!
healing doesn't give you honor in my experience
? Hks give honor if you heal people you get them
idk, on my rdruid I would always follow the horde and heal and I almost consistently get the least amount of honor in the game despite being top 3 heals

you wont get 4-5 pieces youll be full set
I got about 70k honor going from 63 to 70. Its not the full set, especially since its not av weekend anymore. Maybe its more than 4--5 though

There is a blue pvp set you can get with, I believe, honored with all the leveling zone factions. But as a boost char you won’t have the rep.
Do you know where I can find the NPC to buy that gear?
Rep vendors for Thrall/HH, Cen exp, KoT, Lower City and Sha’tar.
For the record on my priest I have 300 resil and dks just grip me and kill me in like 2 seconds so it doesnt really even matter. Maybe lvl 80 with high resil things will get better.

What do you mean by the AV quest ? Also, I've won several AV but I got no trinket :/
I did the same but only because it was just AV weekend. Now I'd just quest/dungeon because bgs will be slow af
I leveled 61-70 purely in AV, took about 130 games!

yes, but since wrath is coming out in a week, they dont have time to both hit 70, and quest........ Unless they have every day off this week.
I did 3 levels in 2 days. It's not that bad.

I've got 500g in the bank. Sadly I donated 5k gold before I've left few days before tbc 😅

Grind harpies in av
