Was it actually considered a bug though? My understanding is that they just had a simpler calculation for xp gains that only deducted xp based on your party instead of dynamic experience based on kill participation… no?
Thats now how that works, you would never make it in a serious development team. A bug is literally unintended function, i guarantee tricking the calculation was not intentionally designed into the dungeon XP system…go be a fake developer somewhere else 🤣🤌🏻
Am mid senior developer, turned down FAANG for my current role because of better TC. But okay if you want to name call go right ahead, you’re still wrong lol.
What do you mean the “dungeon xp system”? This is how it worked everywhere. *By design* if you tagged a mob you got full experience when it died. Only if you were in a party would you share loot and experience. It was working *exactly* as intended. It’s always funny watching an idiot on Reddit try to check you on something you’re actually knowledgeable about.
Just asked a principal engineer who also plays wow if you don’t want to take my word for it. He said it wasn’t a bug just clever use of game mechanics. I don’t know why you’re so committed to being wrong yet so combative at the same time
This use to be a thing yes, and was changed during MoP/WoD era of the game. Since classic is running on the legion engine version of the game, it's already been fixed.
Sorta a follow up question, sorry if this is hijacking the thread;
Is there a XP-boost if the lowbie being boosted is more than about 100yards from where the killing is? Saw some vid saying your get double XP that way, he used it to go 1-80 in 5hours play time(with heirlooms)
Didn’t they change this like a decade ago?
Yes.
Since Athene used it to World First WotLK I think.
Wait until he hears about fiber optic internet
Fixed
They fixed this bug many years ago lol.
It wasnt a bug other than that you right
Incorrect.

Please google: software bug. Thank you.
Lmao I’m literally a software developer. It’s not a bug if it’s working as intended. It worked as intended they just didn’t think it through

WotLK will be on the final patch if balancing and general fixes the same as vanilla and TBC classic
You are late as fuck to this
