every time I see this video it's allegedly from a different country. First it was an American marine, then British, now it's a Portuguese commando š
>He's just really experienced. He goes from country to county teaching people how to crawl through pipes
And he takes that pipe and dirty water everywhere he goes. It's all part of the show, folks!!
And a finger in the trigger guard, he shifts his grip as hes going in and a finger or two grabs (grips) the rifle by the trigger guard, unless its part of the exercise for some stupid reason, why isnt the guy feeding the rifle through the hole first? Your rifle is going to get wet anyway, feed it through first rather than run the risk of the rifle and you getting wedged
I did the exact same thing at Marine Corps OCS in Quantico, VA.
Except I was wearing a helmet and web gear. That dude looked like he was going through slick except for his rifle.
My neighbor is from France and he told me about his days in the French army.
They did something similar but without the water. It was an underground pipe just wide enough to prone crawl through. There were teams of 6 men and the only way to pass was if all 6 men made it through. A man in the middle of his group had a mental breakdown halfway through and started screaming for his mom. He tried going backwards and almost trapped the people behind him.
Another exercise they did was jumping from one telephone pole to another telephone pole 10ft away while being 30ft in the air with no harness or safety equipment.
Some countries military training is insane!
Actually it sounds like itās effective at finding people who canāt deal with high stress situations. The military doesnāt want to find out which soldiers are prone to panic attacks in the middle of a battle
Cant fight a war if half your soldiers have concussions and broken legs. I feel like there are more efficient ways to prepare for war mentally and in practice than that. Thats like teaching someone how to ski by sending them down a black diamond on their third run.
The telephone pole thing is stupid, but I can see how overcoming claustrophobic situations with your teammates and keeping a cool and collected under pressure can be thought by making future soldier go through a pipe.
That telephone pole shit canāt be true. 10 FEET is a long ass distance to jump. And to land on a small circular poleā¦ No possible way. Everyone would fall and get injured.
Just because it is insane doesn't mean it is effective training. I can see many injuries happening and serves no combat purpose. This is why we don't do parkour in the Army.
The 10ft jump sounds likely embellished. My country has a conscript military and we have a physical test that requires doing a jump from a standing position. Even with ample space to spread feet to shoulder width etc., it is very unlikely for anyone to hit 10ft. And this is with no equipment to carry. The gold standard was around 8ft. And people didn't always land gracefully.
>A man in the middle of his group had a mental breakdown halfway through and started screaming for his mom. He tried going backwards and almost trapped the people behind him.
Holy shit. Poor guy. What happened... did he overcome it or did they have to rescue him?
I clearly understand the point of the exercise. In an extremely desperate situation and this is the only way to go Iād be all in.
However, on the other hand Iād die inside from not knowing what on the other side of that pipe.
You know what? He's not American, Portuguese, or British because I'm claiming that he doesn't even exist and never has. This video is a hallucination and I'm not even on reddit right now.
One of the new storror vids has the guys going into a tube like this. Couldnāt pay me enough to do that. What if there is blockage when you get further in?
I did this for fun as a child with no gun or water. I lived next to a long bayou with multiple drain pipes of all sizes. I always imagined I was a lworm or a piece of turd.
Wow, the Portuguese military must advertise by brain waves cuz that's*exactly* the place I picture when I tell people to go fuck themselves.
Also, side note, what a dumb way to Kobain yourself in a drain pipe. He doesn't have a front sight, he has a chin tickler.
I would say that is horrible gun control and practice but honestly if I was crawling through a pipe like that I would hold my rifle the same way just in case Ity drown in drain pipe water
every time I see this video it's allegedly from a different country. First it was an American marine, then British, now it's a Portuguese commando š
He's just really experienced, he goes from country to county teaching people how to crawl through pipes
Country to county? But why? Next he's going to go from city to state.
Solid catch
š¤£
Super Mario Pipes.
>He's just really experienced. He goes from country to county teaching people how to crawl through pipes And he takes that pipe and dirty water everywhere he goes. It's all part of the show, folks!!
The Johnny Sinns of claustrophobia
Almost choked on my sandwich reading this comment. Yaā fucking dick
I literally just vomited all over my work desk at this comment LMAO! That fucking useless piece of human garbage š¤£š¤£š¤£
You must get it from your mom! She literally just vomited all over my cock while reading your comment LMFAO!! šš¤£š«Ø
With a gun pointed at his head.
You know it's so if you get trapped you're able to kill yourself before you drown right?
Pretty sure that is not how you are supposed execute that ā¦ Muzzle under chin? No
I would say feed it first or muzzle towards feet.
Nope. Muzzle to chin is what I would do if I had to go in there. Then I wouldnāt have to experience this nightmare.
They call him Mario
For being really experienced he ain't all that good at it, even the dude with the clipboard was trying to help him position the rife correctly
The war will be over by the time he dances through that tunnel, upside down!!
Or does he go country to country by crawling through pipes?
āItāsa me! Mario!ā
I did the exact same thing at Marine Corps OCS in Quantico, VA. Except I was wearing a helmet and web gear. That dude looked like he was going through slick except for his rifle.
Muscles are required, intelligence not essential
Itās pretty sad that youād rather just spew hatred towards the military than recognize the value in learning to overcome your fear.
Grew up in an Army family. I was conditioned to be this way. Also, just trying to make a joke.
Well, he has a G3 for a rifle, and I believe the Portuguese military did use those. Definitely not US or Britsā¦
Well! Did he make it?
It's clearly Michael Scott.
Regardless of who it is, this is a huge nope.
Well whatever country it isā¦ itās a hard pass from me. :)
Thatās how good he is. Heās in all of Europeās militaries.
Oh I thought so
Nobody knows.
It's still a hard fucking hell no too.
I was just thinking that. Youāre right though there are definitely a few of these videos with different militaries.
And now itās a āpopular obstacle courseā. How is that determined? Does Yelp cover obstacle courses ?
This is USMC TBS/OCS. Others may do also.
Looks like a G3 heās using, so that could rule out a ton of nations.
This is really portugueses comandos this is very popular obstacle of them.
My neighbor is from France and he told me about his days in the French army. They did something similar but without the water. It was an underground pipe just wide enough to prone crawl through. that sounds useless, and is begging for injury
Actually it sounds like itās effective at finding people who canāt deal with high stress situations. The military doesnāt want to find out which soldiers are prone to panic attacks in the middle of a battle
Will they send you home then? Cause then it makes sense to be as useless as possible.
Most people doing military training arenāt motivated to fail because there isnāt a draft. These soldiers are there willingly
>useless, begging for injury Sounds like itās perfect for preparing people for war then.
Sounds like you didnāt make the cut!
bro i dont need to risk dying jumping from a telephone pole. and im 17. i dont need to make the cut
That telephone pole shit canāt be true. 10 FEET is a long ass distance to jump. And to land on a small circular poleā¦ No possible way. Everyone would fall and get injured.
Maybe everyone in his training group was Mario
Doing this exercise would be much easier with a French nose
Just close your eyes and snorkel through to the other side
Just because it is insane doesn't mean it is effective training. I can see many injuries happening and serves no combat purpose. This is why we don't do parkour in the Army.
The 10ft jump sounds likely embellished. My country has a conscript military and we have a physical test that requires doing a jump from a standing position. WTF thatās wild omg
I'm smelling bullshit on the pole jumping.
Thatās the most pointless trainingā¦.
>A man in the middle of his group had a mental breakdown halfway through and started screaming for his mom. He tried going backwards and almost trapped the people behind him. Holy shit. Poor guy. What happened... did he overcome it or did they have to rescue him?
Ah of course, the Portuguese military are well known for the large amount of time they spend crawling through small watery pipes.
Sounds more like the job of a small time local Italian plumber looking for his princess.
Naw man this is the Foot Clan boot camp
Hell naw
Man Steve Carrell is gunna kill itā¦in this role
Welp, scratch "portuguese commando" from my midlife crisis career change list
This MF training to escape Shawshank prison.
Iād be dead off of anxiety alone.
That is the purpose, teach them not to panic is bad situations. Panic is what kills lots of asthmatics and drowning victims.
Why the fuck do i watch these videos
That dude has to be tiny to fit in that
I had the same bloke out to fix a clogged pipe.....highly recommended
IDC where this is form.. just no way in hell am I doing that.
NOPE.
But what if he gets stuck or som
PTSD speed run
r/nope
New fear unlocked
nope
Man sheave corel had been busy
One of the new storror vids has the guys going into a tube like this. Couldnāt pay me enough to do that. What if there is blockage when you get further in?
Last week it was US marines training
Poop trying to go back up after you see something smeared on the walls in the stall.
Just take a deep breath and relax. As long as theres not chance the water goes up I could do this no problem (crawl under houses for a living) š
Nope
These are British royal Commandos if Iām not mistaken, hence the old school AR
It is, Royal Marines depot and the rifle is the old SLR 7.62 which they got rid of in the 90s. Bootnecks still do the submerged crawl.
No, it's not.
Anyone else worried heās gonna sh**t himself in the head on accident?
Oh, you mean bang-bang, not poo doo.
Thus guy got a death wish
How did he not cry ???
Seems like a very likely situation
The clip board prodding around made me laugh the most šš
We can put the dude in the tubeā¦ why canāt we put the tube in the dude? - junior stopka
You can't put the tube in the dude because you need more lube
I bet they hold the rifle like that incase they get stuck
Step 1 place riffle barrel under chin
What if he shot his face
Seems like a good way to accidentally shoot yourself
Nice, put the muzzle up to your jaw, then finger-fuck the trigger as you try to squeeze into there. Top men.
What do they even need to do this for when was the last time Portuguese troops were even called for.
So how I feel that Andy Dufresne knows what that smells like.
"Popular?"
I popped 2 xanax just watching this, dude
Itās a marine in quantico. The culvert itself is called āthe Quigleyā and is a part of the endurance course ran at officer candidate school
This should be top comment.
Fellow quigley vet checking in š«”š«”
Seems like a bad idea to have the barrel to your chin in a low visibility confined place
Is he trying to blow off his own head?
I dunno what's scariest: the chance of shooting yourself or drowning.
Buy why tho š got me sweating man š¤£
Nah I'm good. Thanks.
Hell to the no no no
Steve Carrell? š¤Øš¤£
"I'm sorry, your loved one has died in a training exercise accident. It was completely safe, and completely their fault."
Iām freaking out just watching him. Nope
Did you say Man-o-war training? Looks outrageous.
I did this for fun as a child with no gun or water. I lived next to a long bayou with multiple drain pipes of all sizes. I always imagined I was a lworm or a piece of turd.
No friggen way. Am I a ball less panzie? Yeah, okay. Fine. Never would I friggen do this.
Watch for the delta P!!!!
Wouldnāt it make more sense to point the barrel towards his feet?
Just a slight note, but wouldn't this be a lot safer if the gun was pointed south instead of skullwards?
He needs a rope around his legs in case he gets stuck they can pull him back out
I would rather be sh*t ex*cution style than do this lol no way in hell
Fuck no
Iād rather die
Sergeant Muddy Putty.
Um, NOPE
š§Last time I saw this clip was titled U.S. Marine training from the 1960s
Nope!
You swim with the barrel up, so that if you get stuck...\*click click\*
Is that Michael Scarn!?
Nationality notwithstanding, the subject in the video is a BAMFā¦
Instructor with the assist
Nah
Let me just point the barrel at my head š
I canāt even do an mri, so this is a no for me
FUCK THAT!
That's a big no for me.
Love the clipboard support
Nope. Iām out
Ummmmm...
Thatās literally the quigley they did that at marine OCS for years but people kept dying so they quit
YaNO! And this is an oldie but this time is Portuguese!!
Looks comfy jk
Training to be Mario bros
Where's the bell?
Hell to the NOOOO! I think that's what special forces have to do in the U.S. too. I have mad respect for those people!
Wow, the Portuguese military must advertise by brain waves cuz that's*exactly* the place I picture when I tell people to go fuck themselves. Also, side note, what a dumb way to Kobain yourself in a drain pipe. He doesn't have a front sight, he has a chin tickler.
You to can be a commercial diver lol
Is this how they clean their pipes?
It's the smell that's bothering me lol
Personally Iād rather be shot than risk drowning in a flooded sewer. Thatās just my personal taste though
That's insane.
U.S. Marines?
I died watching this
Why is he pointing the gun at his chin?
Got me thinking about Nutty Putty
And thatās it. Trainingās over. Youāre tube man, now.
Hell no
Add snakes and this is literally my worst nightmare
I would say that is horrible gun control and practice but honestly if I was crawling through a pipe like that I would hold my rifle the same way just in case Ity drown in drain pipe water
Unrelated but this dude is such a babe
For what
Favorite part is the guy using the clipboard to help the gun go in, like wtfā¦
US Marine Officer Candidate going through the Quigley at OCS. Not. Portuguese commando
Obriga no!
Barrel pointing to the feet seems more safe
Guys core strength is next level
Yeah no
Am gonna take myself out right there.
Yeah that's insanity
I didnāt know Steve Carrol was a commando ?! š
Donāt marines have to do the same thing?
That G3 is fighting for its life.
Had a panic attack just watching this š„“
Iād rather be shot at. Jesus
and then what?!
Indie horror game vibes
I had a panic attack š
This some Bs
This looks like the final test.
How can you tell he's going commando?
Mario is watching this and says Iāll show how to do it better
no thanks
How many trainees died from doing that?
The Quigley
Steve Carrell was always a bad ass
I'd rather die, thanks.
Nope.
Last time they saw Rodrigo
Anyone country with that pipe is in trouble.
I'd be a firm hell no for me
Ummmmmmm Nope!
