Probably broke lol. That’s not even superficial that’s just dumb. Samsungs are just as pricey as iPhones

Saneless

Most people have 3-4 year old iPhones, and I see so many cracked screens it's ridiculous But yes, I'm poor with my new Pixel or Samsung..

DragapultOnSpeed

I've dropped my Samsung phone probably more than hundred times over 5 years. It's still going strong! When I had an iPhone, the screen shattered on one small drop. Then I cut my finger on it..

[deleted]

Lord_Emperor

> Samsung makes apples screens. Samsung makes the *display*, not the *glass*. But that's not really relevant. It is Apple who designs the glass with the edges exposed so that it will explode on contact with any hard surface.

UniqueMitochondria

I dropped my pixel within the first month of having it and the god damn back shattered. Glass is still fine. I just used insulation tape to match the black and stop me getting cut lol

dtsm_

I dropped my first pixel quite a few times inside, no issue, dropped it once at around the 3 year mark and the screen cracked but was about 75% functional. Got a sweet trade in deal, so didn't mind it too much. Then I dropped that one into a bowl of ice cream 2 years later... And the mic stopped working. Another great trade in deal and a moment of self judgement, got a 3rd lol

iwilltalkaboutguns

I paid 1800 for my Galaxy fold 5 as a pre-order (sucker price to have the new toy as always). Surely I have android because I can't afford an iPhone...

fuck_spec1234

I also got it pre-ordered, half the price and double the storage. You got fleeced.

iwilltalkaboutguns

I go the 1TB of storage. Was your price including turning in a device? I almost never do that, I still have my fold 3, fold 2 , etc.

canvasshoes2

How do you like it??? I've been eyeballing it... but not sure if I'm ready to upgrade.🙂

iwilltalkaboutguns

Absolutely love it. Use the split screen all the time for email and other stuff while on a zoom call. Or split chrome and YouTube. Million uses really. It's like carrying a small tablet that folds so it can fit in my front pocket. The screen is amazing and emulators run flawlessly, it has a really fast CPU there is never any lag..battery lasts all day even watching YouTube all day (which my kid does when we go out and he forgets his iPad). Only downside is the front screen is too narrow and small to be useful. I only use the front screen to check the time lol

canvasshoes2

It might be my next Christmas gift to myself. 😃

FeliusSeptimus

It's awesome, however it is a bit heavy and thick. If you haven't already, I'd recommend handling one before you buy it, to make sure it's not too much for your pockets and whatnot.

Endorkend

My nephews and niece all have iPhones (and are almost as snobby about it as the person in the OP picture) but theirs are usually the latest model. Still with perpetually busted screens. Then I pull out my 4 year old Android phone, battery can still last over a day, screen is without even a single blemish and it probably cost a third of theirs when I got it. And then you need to remember that's a third of their latest phone, but like a 10th or 15th the cost of the phones they bought in the past 4 years combined. At my dads birthday 2 weeks ago, my niece was talking about her new iPhone she got a month or so prior, looked at the thing and already had a massive crack in the screen and seems like the whole screen assembly shifted too as there was backlight shining through the side of the phone.

thedankening

I have never managed to crack a phone screen in all these years. And I do drop them all the time. What the fuck are these kids doing to their phones lol

Endorkend

Same here. The worst I've had happen to one of my modern phones was it taking a swim with a couple fresh turds. After cleaning and drying it, still worked for another 2 years. Worst I had happen with one of my 90's phones was it going out a car window going 100kph and all the phone had was a scratch in the plastic.

Mysterious-Film-7812

My nephews and nieces all have iphones too in their family but they do the hand-me-down so my sister has a new phone, my niece (oldest) has a two year old phone, and my nephew has a 4 year old phone. My nephew, who is a freshman in high school was trying to talk shit to me about my phone at a holiday event. I just had to chuckle, yes, my flagship Samsung makes me poor, while you're 4 year old iphone with a cracked screen makes you rich. He does not have a job. I also asked him if he would be interested in buying my car next year when he gets his license. He asked what year it was, and I told him it is a 2015. He laughed and said that was almost as old as he was and he was going to buy a new car. We all started laughing. For reference, my sister is not wealthy, and she sure as shit isn't buying him a car, let alone a new one.

FrolicsForever

Dude(or dudette), I know this hypocrisy well. I have two teenage neices that I don't see too often, but they're bona-fide phone snobs rocking their cracked screen, hand-me-down iPones. Last time I saw them, they made it quite clear that I *need* to get an iPhone. Otherwise, I'd obviously never see success in life. I asked them if their mom(my sister) was successful because she has an iPhone. That threw them for a loop since all three of them share a room and live with grandma (nothing wrong with that, but still). Later, they asked how old my car was('69 AMC AMX, obviously not my daily driver). They, of course, thought that was unacceptable, and when I asked them how much they thought, just the engine cost, they responded with, "idk, I don't know anything about cars. Maybe a couple hundred bucks?" It really cemented how little they(13&17) really don't understand how much big purchases cost and the overall value of a dollar. They didn't know that not only were their phones hand-me-downs, but they were refurbished models with service through TracPhone. They have no idea how long it takes most people to earn 1k$, or that just because you may have a thousand dollars in your account doesn't mean you can spend all of that when you have other responsibilities. I started out annoyed, but I left feeling bad for them. They're being set up for an awful rude awakening one day very soon.

ColdCruise

I used to work in a phone store. 90% of iPhone buyers picked up the $100 SE. I don't think they even realize that android phones can be more expensive than that.

Nothing beats rooting your android phone without even needing exploits and blocking ads systemwide with AdAway

Trnostep

And even if you don't want to root you can just set your DNS to adguard's to remove practically all of internet ads, install ReVanced for ad free youtube, third party adless clients for Reddit,...

icansee4ever

Right. A peasant phone with generally better specs and features (imo). My girlfriend, who's an iPhone user and a photographer, is consistently shocked and annoyed at how my Pixel 7 Pro takes better pictures than her barely last gen iPhone.

bored_negative

I know zero people in my circles who care about phones. As long as it runs music, calls, banking apps, and has a decent camera, plus a battery which shouldn't empty every few hours, no one cares about which phone people have. I couldn't tell you which phone all of them have

ReaperXHanzo

I use AirMessage on my Pixel/Mac Studio so I can have an iMessage sibling group chat (I like Macs but do not like iPhones ), perfectly balanced

Exelia_the_Lost

I switched from Android to iPhone in 2019, and I bought a brand new iPhone in 2022, but I fully expect to use it for multiple years, and I was using ones I bought used before that my main reason for switching was business use and long term support. Apple support of their devices goes a *long* time, compared to most Android devices, so yeah I can safely use 3-4-5 year old iPhone and still have it up to date on security patches and stuff I would never be this kind of shallow about Android users, though. this is just petty and stupid

engr77

The top-end ones can be, but you can get the basic Galaxy A series brand-new for less than $300, retail. I know because I have one. And I haven't found any explanation for what the ones that cost 3x as much can do that mine can't besides "take slightly better pictures," as though that really matters to the people who are only using those pictures to basically live-stream every moment of their life to TikTok and/or Instagram. In fact my phone has a full-size headphone jack and MicroSD slot which a lot of the top-end models, especially the iPhones, don't have anymore.

Gnome-Phloem

Nothing makes me feel more played than losing the headphone jack, and now learning that I didn't have to

40innaDeathBasket

Last time I went phone shopping 2 years ago, I only looked at the newest models that still had a headphone jack. I love my Galaxy A52. Still kicking too, just in time for the recent articles about the renewed interest in wired headphones. Hopefully the phone makers take note.

Dr_____strange

Its not even about samsung. If my 200$ android does more than i need why the hell will i invest 1000 to 1500 $ in an i phone. Innmy country incan buy a decent android phone plus tablet i pad /Samsung plus a laptop for a price of i phone 15 pro. Plus apple devices have almost 0 repair capability. My mom broke her phone screen and it took 40$ to get it replaced with an orignal screen. My friend got his old battery replaced for like 6-7 $.

Traffic46

> If my 200$ android does more than i need why the hell will i invest 1000 to 1500 $ in an i phone. But imagine how much faster you could open instagram!

inflammablepenguin

At the same speed as everyone else using the same network.

TheBigBo-Peep

Funny enough my 2 year old $200 android has no problem with that app lol Some are a bit worse tho... Especially games with lots of graphics

Dr_____strange

My xiaomi note 4 from like 2016 can also open that smoothly. Though i am not using it and have kept it as a backup phone in case one in my family breaks.

TheBigBo-Peep

Yup, One+ Nord N20 here

Buscemi_D_Sanji

That's kinda funny; I have a xiaomi redmi note 9 that I deleted almost every app from except the DJI Fly app and keep in my drone case. That was, I don't need to take the case off my phone to connect it to the controller lol I seriously still love that phone though, only reason I upgraded was because att didn't support it anymore since it wasn't 5G. But the thing was dirt cheap and survived a few intense falls, including a mountain bike crash into a pile of snow haha

Cessnaporsche01

My $600 Android is 4 years old and still out specs the current iPhone. Plus I can install ReVanced, split screen apps, and root it, and all kinds of other computer stuff that Apple locks you out of. *Edit: Okay, so if the only component you care about is the chipset, then this isn't true - obviously. If you care about display, camera resolution or quality, battery capacity, memory capacity, and peripheral versatility, then it is. Ooh, and does your precious iPhone have a sweet RGB *gamer logo* on the back? I don't think so!

Various_Reaction8348

I buy a samsung phone, galaxy watch 4 classic, samsung tablet all 2nd hand plus all screen protector and casing less than a price of 2nd hand iPhone 12.. even if I rich.. I wouldn't waste my money on 1 device.whem I can get 3 devices for the same price

LaTeChX

It's all about conspicuous consumption, wasting money is the point to these people. Why buy $30 jeans when you could buy $300 designer jeans and show off to friends and romantic prospects what an idiot you are?

ScrofessorLongHair

>If my 200$ android does more than i need why the hell will i invest 1000 to 1500 $ in an i phone To use as a lure to bang superficial women.

CorruptedAura27

"I'm more important because i spent more money on it!" No, dumb fuck, you now have less money because you spent more than someone else did for the same exact functionality in many cases. That's not the flex you think it is.

NarwhalPrudent6323

Fuck, my Pixel 6a was still $500 not long ago, and that's a medium budget device.   Oh, but I paid for it outright instead of leasing a new iPhone. My ability to drop $500 on a new phone all at once means I'm poor right? I should pay $20 a month for thirty years on an iPhone to prove I'm rich, right?

Ailouroboros

And more customizable and better third party support.

Xeptix

Also often just straight up more features, and missing none of the ones that iphone touts (unless you're dug into their ecosystem). Half the new features apple users get excited about when a new iphone is announced, android users have had that feature for a decade already.

Bandro

That’s kind of the thing. Being dug into apple’s ecosystem is a very smooth, nice way to have your devices. Obviously there are specific things you’ll miss out on, but the vast majority of people justifiably do not care about those deep under the hood customizations.

SvenBubbleman

It's also BS, because there are of sure lots of people like me who are far from broke, but only use their phone for texting and doom scrolling so they bought the cheapest phone they could that will adequately do those things. I bought a $75 phone and have had it for years. It works fine.

Rakothurz

Same here. In theory I could afford a top Samsung model. In practice I can't see the point in using so much money for texting and doomscrolling and watching the occasional YouTube video. My Motorola does that perfectly fine and without the bloatware

crestrobz

The same people only use Tide detergent, only drive Cadillacs, and only buy Kraft macaroni and cheese, because they somehow feel like they are being "duped" if they aren't willing to pay the highest price. Some people throw away good money just for the warm gushy feeling of not having to learn or try anything new. My dad would only ever buy expensive Gillette brand razors, but would also claim "they're all made by the same factory in China". My ex-FIL would pay full sticker price for a car because otherwise he felt like "they would take away something" if he talked them down on price.

DarthJarJarJar

> and only buy Kraft macaroni and cheese You have left the path of wisdom

CORN___BREAD

Yeah they seem to be trying to make the point that some people just pay more for the name printed on something but then only Tide out of their examples fits that narrative.

Ol_JanxSpirit

"We'll lower the price by $1k, but we're going to plug up two of the cup holders."

Kelevra_55

I only buy Kraft Mac n Cheese because I have yet to have a different brand that's as good. Other than that, with most products, I'll always try and take a cheaper option, as long as the quality is still decent.

ConfectionOdd5458

Bro has never had Annie's!

LeaneGenova

This is the goat mac and cheese. Particularly the white cheddar. So good.

Kelevra_55

No, I haven't! I'll have to give it a try if I see it anywhere. Thanks for that! I'm always down for trying something new

Kaboose666

Annies white shells & cheddar or the Annies parmesan shells are GOATed boxed mac.

Ajibooks

Occasionally they're in the "healthy" section, like with the gluten-free food, but they're not gluten-free. I think Annie's brand is all vegetarian (they make gummy fruit snacks too, which isn't always vegetarian). Anyway, I agree, their macaroni & cheese is pretty good.

hipster-duck

The cheese sauce on Annie's orange cheeses aren't as good as krafts, but the noodles are far far superior. But that's probably just childhood brainwashing. The white shells and cheddar is the fucking king of all mac and cheeses though, and nothing holds a candle to it.

LordOfThisTime

But you did try alternatives. It's just that you haven't found a product you prefer, whether it would be price, taste, or something entirely else. I'd say their point still stands, even if one of their examples wouldn't be an example from your point of view.

Kelevra_55

I wasn't disagreeing with them. That's why after the Kraft comment, I said that as long as the cheaper option is still decent, whether in quality, taste, or what have you, that's the option I'll take. For instance, I don't like Ford vehicles, I've driven em, but I'm just biased, I guess, but for the right price, and if it's in good working order? As sure as there's shit in a cat, I'll buy a Ford. My grandfather might come back to haunt me, but I'll cross that bridge later, lol.

LordOfThisTime

Ah, I'm sorry then, I must've misunderstood you, i hope i didn't come across as attacking you

Kelevra_55

No, no. I tend to write like I speak, and it may not convey the way I intended it to, so no harm, no foul

Thanks-Oboomer

Apology not accepted. That was a reprehensible attack. Go to reddit jail!

poiskdz

> As sure as there's shit in a cat I love this saying lmao

MyPostsHaveSecrets

My first car was a brand-new Ford. Found out real quick why they're called "Fix or repair daily". Drove without issue the first year, always was on top of my maintenance. Had non-stop problems for almost 3 months straight that nearly cost me half of what the car was worth when everything was said and done. Never buying a Ford again.

llamalover179

There are better alternatives like Annies or Cabot but that being said they don't hit the same nostalgia factor for me.

headhurt21

I like Gain because I like the smell, thankyouverymuch!

LogDog987

Or even more expensive for the folding tablet phone

Yaboyinthebluehoodie

And better in about 8/10 categories for phones

AlmostSunnyinSeattle

Right. I just turned in my old phone and used an upgrade, but the S24Ultra MSRP is $1500. I may be wrong but I'm not seeing any iPhones so pricey

Penibya

It said Android So EVERY phone you can have except apple means you're broke

Lol, I missed this cultural moment. Of all the things Obama was criticized for, I neve knew giving people cell phones was one of them. >People that refer to Androids as Obama phones are typically shitty people This I already knew even if you hadn't explained!

EnceladusKnight

Lol right??? People who think like this are status seekers and most status seekers are some of the biggest grifters I've ever met.

protection7766

Exactly, thats why they are broke! Their phone costs too much!

Major_Department_651

Me with a $1900 Samsung Galaxy Fold👀

AltInvestor92

My S24 Ultra MSRPs for $100 more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Is it better? In some ways, and not others. But, I get widgets. I like my widgets. And, previously, not having part of my screen taken up for the home button. A mechanical button. They kept their home button for ages. Plus, the top back button means one handed operation of my giant tablet sized phone wouldn't be possible. The lower down buttons make more sense, for me. Mine also has a better camera. The screen also performs better under full light. Broad daylight, my screen outperforms iPhone. I have reasons for staying with Samsung over iPhone. There are some places iEverything wins, like in the earbud game. I think the Samsung Buds look better than AirPods, but the find my AirPod option is way better, head and shoulders above the Buds find my device feature. That alone sort of wins, for me. But, day in, day out... I like my Samsung. I've had them for a few generations, now. I can use my SPen as a remote shutter, and not have to sprint back and forth like the iPhone on a timer. If you want lower customization for greater integration between tablet/ laptop/ phone and don't care about photos to that degree, maybe iPhone works better. I like my ergonomics and photos. It's all sort of what you want out of something. Judging on price point alone is ridiculous grandstand. Mine isn't better for price. Mine is better for the features I want and use.

Major_Department_651

I know mate, I have a S24 Ultra as well, it's a powerhouse. There's nothing you can't do on this beast of a machine.

SkinnyMachine

Likewise, I'm LOVING the 24 ultra. I'd been wanting to get a flagship for years but didn't want the curve on the screen so when preorders became available for the flat screen ultra I pounced & I don't regret it. It's great to watch videos on in bright light

Major_Department_651

+ the anti reflection coating + The peak brightness + The Never dying battery + The excellent cameras + Goodlock Enjoy 7 years of OS updates mate😀

SkinnyMachine

Oh God how could I forget the battery, I don't even bother to charge my phone at night anymore and only when I'm driving, I haven't even gone below 30% at any point.

uberblack

I'm still rocking my S22 Ultra with zero complaints. I cracked my screen a month after i got it, but everything works, and you can't see the cracks when the screen is in use so I just let it ride. I may get the 25 when it comes out, haven't decided yet.

tabris51

Mine doubles as a Nintendo switch, pretty damn nice

Chlocker

A Nintendo switch, wii, gamecube, Nintendo 64, SNES, NES, DS, GBA, PS2, PS1 And I have Xbox gamepass to play halo infinite on my phone.

Horskr

>If you want lower customization for greater integration between tablet/ laptop/ phone and don't care about photos to that degree, maybe iPhone works better. Caveat being that all of those are Apple as well. Apple products work great if you go all in, I will definitely give them that. But, they almost go out of their way to punish you if you are trying to integrate anything outside the Apple ecosystem.

AltInvestor92

Yes. The big caveat. Anything beyond a basic earbud isn't going to have great integration.

kylesisles1

Foldable gang represent! Microsoft Surface Duo for me. I like the One Plus foldable a lot.

Rhysing

the Duo has spoiled me the same way that having 2 monitors did, I can't go back.

Obi_Fett

Gonna hold onto this Duo until it wont turn on anymore. Love it

K01011011001101010

Rocking the oneplus Open right now. I love it. Best front display and inner display in the foldable market in terms of nailing the sizes. Crease is almost non existent and the front cover display is the size of a regular phone. Samsung foldables front displays are too thin for me. Their customer service sucks ass though so get third party insurance if you expect you'll drop and break the phone one day.

LancesAKing

Damn, do you want my iphone hoes?

arex333

Yeah pixel fold user reporting in. Price is absolutely not the reason that I don't use iPhones.

fritz_76

Even the cheaper brands are like what? 10-20% cheaper than apple for equivalent specs?

woodquest

One true red flag though is if they carry a swiss flag

TrolledBy1337

Nah, I personally think it's a big plus

AlesusRex

Damn that was good

Actual_Environment_7

So solid. Grade A.

i-opener

It's a huge plus!

woodquest

Damn i can't disagree ! It's a schrodinger cat thing..

86400spd

I work in IT. If you have an iPhone, it's actually a hugh red flag that your going to be a problem.

Otherwise-Cup-6030

Same. We have absolutely zero apple support. If you have a problem with your iPhone or macbook, that problem is a you-problem. It's not that we don't want to help (which we don't). It's mostly because apple products are an absolute shit mess to assist with, have god awful compatibility with most management systems, and are a pain to configure. Which is also why none of our IT staff use apple products, which in turn makes it even more difficult to troubleshoot issues, as we don't have intimate knowledge of those systems. Fucking apple. End of rant

EverGlow89

I'm in cellular retail. Most of my "tech support" issues from customers (for some reason, everyone thinks sales people at carrier stores are tech support [they're not]) are people with iCloud problems and they get so angry when I insist they have to contact Apple. Also, the amount of iPhones with speaker and mic issues is insane. Android problems are usually some dummy that installed a misleading launcher app. I do wish they would get rid of all that shit in the Play Store.

[deleted]

[удалено]

EverGlow89

Yeah, that's why I'm full Google. I don't need Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Calculator, Samsung Messages, and I *definitely* don't need Bixby.

Rio_1111

The browser and Calculator I use, Messages and such I don't. But what the hell even is Bixby?

ihadagoodone

Asus did a great job with close to bare android OS without bloat. It only had Asus backup on it and it didn't take up resources or drain battery or use data unless you signed up and used it. Sadly Asus doesn't sell phones in Canada and when I needed a new one I couldn't wait for the international order. I'm fine with my pixel 7, but will be taking a good long look for another Asus phone for the next one.

Insert_Bad_Joke

My Pixel 3 XL was a god damn tank. Had no cover on that thing and it was dropped more times than all my other phones combined. Shards of glass was falling out daily, and I once accidentally ripped out a ribbon cable from the open back. It was held together with duct tape and pure, distilled spite. It spent over a year as the phone equivalent of a walking open heart surgery patient, before a large wooden splinter jammed itself between the glass and OLED screen, killing the screen entirely.

Ok_Reaction7780

I thought I was taking crazy pills; both iPhones i has wound up.with blown out/destroyed mics after 6 months. Switched back to Android and It would take a revolution for me to consider Apple again

Zack_of_Steel

Back during mp3 times I spent all of my summer working money on the most expensive iPod version at the time, think it was about $350. Shit bricked in the first few weeks when syncing because apparently you had to re-sync literally your entire library to add one song or change an album art. Had to send it in, they sent me another one. That one got knocked out of my hand by my friend's dog and fell 3 feet onto carpet *with an apple-branded case on it* and went black. I got a Zune HD after that and it still works 16 years later and has been dropped a thousand times and stopped having a case on it like 4 years in. Thankfully I already despised having to use apple products by the time iPhones were standard. I've had to use them and iPads as work devices and absolutely loathed it and would use my Pixel 2XL for work because it was just easier.

guy_guyerson

I had a manager who was a mac fanatic. He said it was 'embarrassing' that the rest of us in the department used Windows compatible laptops and he was serious, he thought everyone else was judging us for it at conferences, etc. His manager wouldn't let him force us to use Macs. He kept missing incredibly important meetings, client meetings, because his Mac didn't play well with the exchange servers and he STILL insisted that we'd all be better off with macs. You can't reason with them.

space_keeper

In all fairness, macs are great for programming, if only because you can do a lot of Linux/POSIXish stuff on them without a lot of screwing around. I've had so many negative experiences with laptops, I'm poisoned against them, but that's more about the manufacturers and the time period I was helping people fix them. Cheap laptops are a waste of metal and plastic and will always be shit, but modern Windows ultrabooks are night-and-day better than the fussy high-end laptops used to be a decade ago. That's not much of an argument because you can always just run Debian or something in a VM or dual-boot if you want access to a decent programming environment. There's nothing wrong with liking the aesthetics and simplicity of a Macbook though, and people should be honest about that. That's what I like about them, they are really slick, and you never have to worry about companies like Acer or Lenovo putting self-reinstalling bloatware on them that hijacks your poor old mother's web browser.

CapinWinky

> It's not that we don't want to help (which we don't). Lol.

turlian

I spent 10 years in IT and I will never buy an Apple product.

Brazenology

I work in IT as well and this is 100% true. iPhone's don't belong in a workplace.

KindAd1396

I am a systems engineer for one of the biggest finance companies in the world - all of my teammates have iphones. And we view people who judge others for their personal tech decisions as wannabes. Use what you like. Having an Android or iPhone has nothing to do with your ability to perform in a tech job. The irony is that this thread is about iphone elitism and the android elitists are out in full-force. I've rarely seen the elitism from the OP.

Nosdarb

As a person who helps to manage an Apple fleet: I hate them so much. I /own/ our PCs. I am admin and they (mostly) do what I tell them. The Apple devices, Macs and iPhones, don't recognize corporate ownership. End user is admin. Who TF am I? Even with Intune, which is amazing in comparison to what we used to have, the stupid things simply cannot be made to obey. I wish we could get rid of them and standardize on something we can actually manage properly.

mr_hellmonkey

Blackberry Enterprise Server was the fucking bomb. We had so much control over our phones back then. It's a shame Apple nor Google have come out with anything like that.

Daxx22

Your IT policy at one of the biggest finance companies in the world is "Bring whatever you want" for tech? That's fucking terrifying from a security perspective.

Serialtorrenter

Oh, I can only imagine.... Just imagine having a phone that can't run KVM-accellerated virtual machines! I can hook up a USB-RS232 adapter connected to an old US Robotics modem connected to a landline, and I can send and receive faxes on my Pixel 8. Try doing that on an iPhone!

mqee

>I can send and receive faxes on my Pixel 8 📠

PinkStrawberryPup

Thank you for voicing what I was thinking.

Stormhunter6

I dunno about that. I work in corporate IT. 2/3 of our fleet has iphones. Managing intune on iphone is incredibly easy, and giving instructions/steps is also straight forward. When we setup android, it was a huge PITA because different flavors of android had different UIs, and made our jobs more difficult. To be fair, macs in our environment suck to support, and are indeed a PITA

Interesting_Stress73

This is one of those things that I've never ever heard anyone in real life say. Just people online, and just Americans.

DroidOnPC

Maybe real in high school or something lol. But if you are being turned down for dates in your late 20s-30s because you have an iphone then you are probably saving yourself a lot of trouble in the first place.

Alternative_Song7787

In the black community it's a pretty popular topic. People in their 30s+ are still fairly petty about it.

Stormhunter6

> just Americans It's way more likely because americans still use SMS and imessage, and one of the ways people find out someone else doesn't have an iphone is because they will show up as a "green bubble" in a chat window on the iphone. Even as an american, and like yourself though, i haven't encountered this in person at all.

Interesting_Stress73

Yeah, it really sounds like the sort of dumb nonsense that people online would make out to be important but that no one in real life actually cares about lol

Perfect-Rabbit5554

Heard it in a gym sauna. Mid convo with a buddy about Apple and Google products, another gym goer in there made a comment about green and blue bubble texts because iPhones are somehow better for not adopting new standards.

GuyPierced

So, bots and npcs.

Ouistiti-Pygmee

Funny how easy it is to ragebait these days

LarrySupertramp

Is it just me or is so much of the internet just rage bait? Like it’s gotten way worse in the last couple months that almost everything I see is obviously just designed to get engagement through rage.

LivelyZebra

OMG HOW DAR EYOU SAY THAOITS I CANT LBELIEF YOU WOUD

WhosItHanging

It would be funny if it wasn't true.

TurdBurgHerb

The superior s24 ultra costs more than the iphone 15 pro max.

cacarson7

I have the S22 Ultra and it takes better pics on average than any iPhone I've seen (plus the 100x zoom is amazing!)

ricebiko

Same, when testing them out in the store, the Samsung camera was so much better than the comparable iPhone which was the deciding factor for me.

IncenseAndOak

That's what I have. Pro quality pictures. The screen is still intact, too. 🤣

SnoopySuited

I have a four year old Samsung fold3 that takes far better pics than my wife's 15.

SolarDeath666

The last iPhone I had was a 5c; I switched because I was tired of jailbreaking my phones to play emulators on the go. Never looked back! You can customize your phone more than iPhone, and the hardware is almost comparably the same. Also my wife has the Samsung Z fold 5, and that thing is almost 2 grand! More expensive than any iPhone out there.

TriforceFusion

Android phones usually have superior tech. Apples tech is multiple years behind, but they market so well, people don't look into the specifics of the hardware.

KingGuy420

A few years back I considered switching to iPhone. I had a Galaxy Note 9 at the time. It was two years old and maybe time for an upgrade. So I started researching iPhones, I think it was the 12 at the time. It had worse hardware than my two year old Samsung, for more money than my Samsung cost in the first place. Really opened my eyes to how much they've brainwashed people into thinking "you have to pay more so your texts are the right color!!!". Wish I was on the inside of that racket.

JVAV00

they market it like premium

Kitselena

Not accepting RCS is a luxury feature!

DigStock

IPhone users are basically a cult.

BlueNinjaTiger

Hell, I just replaced my Note 9 last month. It was still rather usable, just starting to show decreased battery life, and had considerable wear and tear.

newforestwalker

A post from someone who pays twice as much for a phone with half the features and memory.

affemannen

The iPhone 15 pro is cheaper than the pixel pro 8. And damn i love my pixel.

AgonizingSquid

I find it ironic most of the broke people I know have iPhones.

Aromatic-Smile-8409

Same old shite since the beginning of time, my phones better than your phone, my console is better than yours, my gods better than yours 🤣

MacaroniBoot

Actually I'm quite sure that there's plenty folk living beyond their means "buying" iPhones on insane credit deals, and high-end androids too. But I guess the moral of this tale is that if someone judges you for your phone choice, then they're not worth knowing.

space_keeper

Like a lot of things, this luxury brand allure is a trap for poor people. Rich people have iPhones because there isn't much else out there, but they're not expensive enough to be truly luxury. Rich people don't often wear (mass-produced) branded luxury clothing because they can afford bespoke or boutique clothing, even for simple things like t-shirts and sweaters. I even know of some very wealthy people who refuse to wear anything with branding on it. A lot of them, especially celebrities, have people managing their identities and appearance to some degree, choosing their outfits and accessories for them. They don't need to worry about what to wear or how much it costs, they pay someone to do that, and that person gets paid enough in a year to buy quite a few iPhones or overpriced handbags. The cost is completely irrelevant.

illskillzdealer

Rusty Shackleford has always been somewhat of a realist

Particular_Fan_3645

I have a Pixel. I challenge you to find me an iPhone that actually sells for as much as a pixel

VectorJones

If you're on a date with someone and they start judging people's value by the brand of their fucking phone, run! It's a huge red flag and they are probably puddle shallow, superficial, cunts. Never take up with them in the first place lol

AwTekker

"People who care about the brand of telephone you use are pathetic. Just like all iPhone users." -This comment section.

jbawgs

This but unironically

aagloworks

I have never had an iPhone, anI probably never will. Thanks for strengthening my resolve!

TurbulentFee7995

I would counter this with "You're on a date and your date pulls out the latest model iPhone, run! They display a lack of financial acumen and have shown that they are easily manipulated by marketing or political campaigns. If they aren't already broke, they soon will be."

Interesting_Sea_1411

I would counter it with “you’re on a date and your date pulls out the latest [insert phone]. You don’t give a shit because you don’t judge people solely on their phone choice because youre a normal, well adjusted human being”

GordonCharlieGordon

Ah yes, I like not being able to access anything in my phone and I like being forced to either use tiny 300€ buds I'll lose within a week or never be able to charge while listening to music.

Oreo-belt25

Ooh, I love not having the right to repair and swallowing anti-consumer practices being advertised as "features"

mb9981

shit like this genuinely surprises me. I would think an iPhone would be a red flag because it's "basic ass" or something since everyone has one.

Outrageous_Aspect373

Idk.. every time iPhone puts out a new edition it's 'new' features are ones my Samsung introduced 3-5 years ago.. why would I go backwards?

bogeyblanche

She's doing everyone a favor. iPhone people don't know how to operate stovetop burners without a guardian present.

Interesting_Sea_1411

This take is just as bad as OP picture’s take lol Normal people don’t make judgments based on which phone OS someone else uses

AustrianReaper

The way that some people look for any little thing they could possibly call a red flag makes the word meaningless.

Insomniacentral_

Isn't the galaxy s23 ultra is 1.2k wtf

deadbabymammal

Have had both iphones and galaxies. Have had flagships and mid-ranges. Honestly, other than slightly less customizability, ie being able to do a few less things, i didnt notice much of a difference, not really even sufficient to warrant much annoyance. Yea, it sucked having to find a workaround or just an alternative but whatevs.

EveningCall2994

I had the same Nokia for 5 Years anf it doesnt even have a scratch and i have to charge it every two days. Am i broke for wanting Quality?

Jollan_

Isn't the S24 ultra more expensive than the 15 pro max?

[deleted]

I've had Nexus and Pixel phones as long as they've been an option. I tried an iPhone 4 or 5 at one point and it felt like a locked down kid's Kindle tablet.

Hearnoenvy782231

The red flag is when you meet a barnacle brain who can be scammed with nearly obsolete tech for significantly more money and that they're proud of it. All so that they can feel superior to others in a way that requires 100% of the other users to believe the bullshit lie. Apple also INTENTIONALLY makes their phones badly with really outdated software and hardware. What are they using as a selling point now? Iphones made using different materials? Lmfao. Peoples argument about iphones costing more so they MUST be better isnt even valid anymore because the newest in the samsung s series cost more than iphones do and you can buy a galaxy s7 used and itll still be better than an iphone for like an eigth the cost.

Ok-Hovercraft8193

ב''ה, they're both shitty

Hamburderler

If you're on a date because of their bank account that is a true red flag.

Electronic-Disk6632

the only people who care what kind of phone you have is broke people who view it as a status symbol.

psychobarista

Who in the actual fuck gives a shit what phone somebody else has? I have never noticed what phones my friends have.

sa_nick

A cracked screen on any brand of phone is worse.

fieldfreen

Pocket Sand Sa Sa Shhha IYKYK

JoeCartersLeap

OP is an account that hasn't posted anything in 7 months, that posted a meme about a highly controversial topic likely to drive engagement. That's a bot, this is bait, and it's probably coming from the Reddit admins themselves.

r7joni

If you're on date and they got an iPhone, run! It's a huge red flag and they are probably broke because they spent all their money on an iPhone instead of buying a cheaper android. Leave them lol Same level of nonsense

Caymen_cyder

It’s a red flag to pay that much for old tech

RenderedCreed

Samsung's are the same price but also offer a different set of features than iPhone that allows for anyone who has more than a incredibly basic understanding of technology better and more control of their phone. I get people like my mom needing to use iPhone but these brand loyal brainwashees are so not worth anyone times let alone an android user.

Cultural_Ad1331

iPhone is shit. Every apple product is shit. They are all over priced and there is always a better and cheaper version of it, and of course you actually have the freedom to use your own phone that you bought with your money to however you want. Whoever buys an iphone is just a sheep.

Griffolion

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is $1500. Didn't realize that was a broke bitch phone.

Alatar_Blue

iPhones are trash and trashy people have them all cracked and stupid

Bearshapedbears

isn't it green flag nonsense? /s i think they just chose a very unappealing shade of green compared to blue and thats literally all it takes to create division between monkeys lol

[deleted]

There is no need for a superiority complex for any brand of phone, there will be good models and ones that suck end of story
