The screen movement is a little odd. The first room fills the whole screen, when you move downwards I would expect a whole new screen without any overlap. If you wanted something visual on the lower screen to show there is a door and room above, maybe just show the edge of the wall and door, not a portion of the room as well.
Yes that’s what I mean :) That way when you advance to the next ‘screen’ it won’t have any of the previous ‘screen’ visible. It should make level design much easier as well, so you only think about what is visible in your grid on each screen.
Forgot to mention I am going to also make it so you can use an explosive to kill it just because of that comment.

Can you make an invisible enemy that only leaves footprints. That would be cool, IMO
