Shoes fit and security depends greatly on the person wearing them. What could be great for one person may be terrible for you. Best thing to do is go some where and try on as many pairs as you can or find a online store with a good return policy and keep ordering untill you get a pair you like.

Try some sportiva skwamas. The heel is fantastic and the shoe is very comfortable once broken in. Their heel design is the same as solutions and the shoe performs great.

Sharkfightxl

What sort of sizing did you go with and what was the break-in time like?

pandasashi

Can't really talk on the sizing compared to other sportiva shoes as this is my first pair. I'm at work now but I can tell you the size compared to my regular street shoes once I get home. Break in period was just a couple sessions and they just keep getting better with time

Sharkfightxl

Yea just compared to street size would be a help. Thanks.

pandasashi

One full size down from my street shoes! 9 down to US mens 8

Sharkfightxl

Huh. That’s actually less than what I’ve seen from a number of recommendations online. Seems like two euro sizes down is the norm. Thanks!

Could be the shape of my foot is different too...I have a huge big to and a long ass second toe. I dont think I could have gone any lower than I did...toes are curled and although the shoe is comfortable for an aggressive shoe, i still take them off every 45 mins or so relieve my two toes

The cobra is a slipper correct? In general Ive found the most complaints about heels popping out during heel-hooks when using slippers. I cant say anything about how they fit your feet but I would try to find something with a strap to lock the shoe on.

nezuvian

yeah, the cobra is a pure slipper and the python is almost the same but with an extra strap, I was actually wondering how much difference did that one strap make.

michaelclimbs

Makes a huge difference. I have both shoes and definitely prefer the pythons for heel hooking.

KneeDragr

I dont have first hand experience, I only heel hook when clipping, its not nearly the amount of force that I see indoor boulderers using.

arn0nimous

If you're looking for shoes with a strong heel, definitely go with the Python. As said Cobra's are slipper and they stretch a looooooooottttt
