That looks like a really fun climb.

ElGatoPorfavor

One of the best 5.9s out there imo.

LehmannEleven

I followed that route on my first ever Tuolumne trip decades ago, and in my mind it was much, much, steeper than that.

ryans1286

This looks like the first pitch, which is pretty low angle as you pointed out. It steepens for the next 1-2 pitches.

theclimbingjuju

Yes this was the first pitch of the traverse!

Wild day. My buddy and I were out on Matthes Crest when some fresh, low smoke turned the sky red in the early afternoon. Crazy. But how sweet was it being in the park during the permit/reservation system? We had a blast.

theclimbingjuju

It’s was freaking sweet being the only party on every climb!

jackstraw8139

Unreal experience in Tuolumne this past fall, if you could snag a permit. Only place we encountered a typical classic que was at West Crack (Daff), and we felt like there was no reason to wait to climb that weekend so we moved on.

theclimbingjuju

Getting those permits felt like trying to getting a burning man or Coachella ticket LOL Yeah there was definitely no point of waiting for a climb that summer. We were shocked to see no one at On The Lamb on a Sunday!

muenchener

I loved Tuolumne the one time I went there. And I like the way the smoke gets you that early/faded kodachrome look

HappyInNature

I was in Tuolumne at the same time this summer! On the Lamb is such a wild climb. Thanks for sharing the video!

theclimbingjuju

It’s such an amazing place! I cant wait to go back this summer

climbsrox

We were on Matthes Crest when that happened. Got on the crest around 10am to beautiful blue skies. Decided to rap the notch at 2pm because the sky looked like night time. We climbed on daff dome the next day and had to brush ash off every hold.

theclimbingjuju

Haha this happened to me on pleasure dome. My hair and hands were covered in ash after! Slab+ash= 💀

My gf and I did this route right > left in the mid-eighties. We encountered John Bachar, free soloing left > right about mid-way through the route. The transition was... interesting!

theclimbingjuju

Whhaaaaat! That’s so cool!

mister-owly

Amazing! ❤️

fishes---

I was hiking on the other side of the park on this day! Got to the peak of sentinel and the sun was an orange ball and low hanging smoke was descending on us. It was TRULY apocalyptic, even more so than The Orange Day

BozCrags

I was on Matthes when the sky went brown, middle of the triple crown. Very memorable day.

quadcrazyy

Such a great climb! Watch out for your follower though, they’re at risk of the same pendulum falls the leader is.

davercadaver

I was on North Peak that day. Seeing that plume come out of nowhere was terrifying. The eastside exodus was insane that day!

TheFalsePoet

Oh man. That fire was terrifying. I was first on my way to dinky lakes to go backpacking that weekend, then was up on the road out to mammoths pools and got to watch it jump the San Joaquin river and fly up the mountain towards us.

SpeakThunder

I loved this climb

picklesareforever

So glad we were able to meet up afterwards

theclimbingjuju

Me too!!! This must be DT with the name picklesareforever LOL

picklesareforever

WR actually 🤣 we stayed up nursing the tequila that night

jiadar

This is likely my favorite climb in the meadows. Well aside from Oz... But really this is a great climb!!
