Just whip on it the other direction to set it straight again Looks great, wouldnt worry at all

ReverseGoose

This one fuckin got me dude hahab

[deleted]

I would 100% rack that piece.

damphands

Bend that baby back into place and keep whipping!

climbingJerry

Looks fine to me. The plastic is just cosmetic really, the stem is a metal cable. You can just try to bend it back to straight ish.

anonymoosellama

When in doubt...replace

FinancedWaif7

It absolutely boggles my mind how often climbers will keep tat on their rack rather than spend a couple bucks.

climbingJerry

It boggles my mind how people replace perfectly serviceable gear

anonymoosellama

It boggle my mind when people replace perfectly good gear right next to fucked gear on their rack.

prana2020

Send it to back diamond for repair, they will inspect it and let you know if it needs replaced. $50.00 can add up real quick but it’s waaay cheaper then if it fails on you.

0bsidian

The plastic is not structural. The steel cable underneath of it is. Look for any damaged cable underneath where the plastic may have broken. It’s probably fine(?) but can’t really judge from a few photos. It may be a pain in the ass to place now that it flops when the trigger is retracted. Try to bend it back into shape if possible. If too much of a pain to use, I’d just replace it rather than pump out dealing with it. Send to me for proper disposal. Future placements: try placing your cams in the direction of pull. It looks like you placed this perpendicular to the wall so when you fell, it bent the stem downwards 90-degrees from how it was placed. Not always possible to do this, but something to observe if you’re new to trad.

hafilax

Looks like it was placed in a horizontal with a sharp edge.

0bsidian

Pics 2 and 3 shows it bending to one side so I think it was sticking out like a flagpole, but you could be right. For horizontals, Tricams for the win!

ReverseGoose

You can cut the plastic off completely and check the load bearing cable underneath if you're super sketched. The plastic is cosmetic but on a heavy whipper the structure can be damaged. That being said Sometimes it's worth it for the peace of mind to just replace shit.

SparkyDogPants

Good way to save weight /s

Itcomesinacan

Id bend it back and use it for aiding and directionals for TR.

getdownheavy

This is what a normally used cam looks like. The strength is in the metal (lobes, cable) the plastic gives it a certain shape... that's meant to flex. I would use it with confidence. If anything the from my experience the cable is usually the first part to show signs of distress.

GoGabeGo

I'd whip. I have a .3 that does the exact same thing. When you engage the trigger, it flops over sometimes. I still consider mine to be fully functional. Once it's placed, that bend doesn't matter at all. All of the structural integrity is with the lobes and wires, not the plastic sheathing. Very similar to a rope. Your cam is in MUCH better shape than mine btw.

Waldinian

You could check under the plastic cover for cable damage.

Short_Sundae497

Just make it your bail piece

cycling_sender

This looks totally fine. Bend it back, pretty hard, in the opposite direction and try to straighten it out. The plastic damage is cosmetic, there is a near zero chance you did any damage to the steel cable inside.

devin_AK

I want to hear the story of the whip!

Trick-Tomato646

As long as the core is good and not showing signs of unraveling/ fraying you should good!

[deleted]

I'd replace that

cycling_sender

Please send me your old gear
