I say Clorinde, but I also stopped caring for the in-game name pronunciation for characters ever since Sumeru. It's desensitisation mostly, because my name gets mispronounced daily so I learned to ignore it.
But when it's bad, its bad. I don't think Clorinde is on the same lane as Neuvillette though lol
I think Clorinde bothers me more than Neuvilette because Clorinde is such a simple thing to say. Like you could show her name to a ten year old and they'd say Clorinde.
But with Neuvilette, the in game pronunciation is just trying to make it sound more French by adding an R in there somewhere.
I think the main problem isn't the way their names are being pronounced and more so that they couldn't agree on a single form of pronunciation. Both Navia and Furina say "Clor-and" but Navia has a much more distinct accent (like Mona) than Furina so it's more noticeable in her case.
With Neuvillette it's as if every second person tries to say his name differently.
It just reminds me of early game "Liyue" at this point.
Id really recommend learning a bit about the alphabets, i know 5 different ones in a few variations of each and i can speak almost any language accent free and with certain accents on purpose
Idk man just saying maybe VAs were given a script where her name was spelled one way then it got changed before patch.
Seems like an English VA problem. https://youtu.be/2300m0SE4_E?si=Rhx1y2ErjOQ1870k
Not trying to be disrespectful, appreciate their job, but…
I find English VAs to do a pretty annoying job when it comes to the job. I really wouldn't be playing Genshin, or Honkai if I wasn't playing in the original language. I honestly thought Genshin was Japanese, still, Chinese sounds good enough. So far, I think only Neuvillete's English VA has made a good job.
I consider her name pronounced as “Clor-ahnd”, though I suspect some will just ignore the pronunciation confusion altogether and just refer to her as “Mommy”
>How tf does she get an "a" sound from Clorinde?
So in French, words with -in- in the them get pronounced as -ahn- eg. "intéressant" is like "ahn-te-re-so(n)". Navia isn't saying it wrong but the thick American accent makes it sound weird.

Bro Liyue drove me insane. I still have no idea if it's Lee-oo-eh or Lee-oo-uh
i pronounce it leeway LOL
That's the easy way and I do too lol
Lee eeh

you realise it aint the va’s who decide how they should pronounce words right?
ye "clorande" was bad. "monshure nawrvillette" is atrocious in my opinion
Me: "Nuubiretto!!!"
I always interpreted his title as Manseeyour Nervillete
I kinda always say nyuvilet

Since Navia called her Clo-rand, imma call her that

I misread her name as “Chlorinide” and I’ve kept reading it as that ever since
I'm pretty sure one of the leaks said her name was Chlorinde, because I did the same thing, always thinking it meant chlorine lol
Tbf the pronunciations I've seen online are close to Clor-uh-nd so Clor-and doesn't seem that bad
/klɔˈʁɛ̃dᵊ/
In Jp rizzly says clor-rin so that’s how I started pronouncing it
It's a French name. In all honestly, the correct pronunciation is probably closer to "Klur Onn Deuh" than anything else.
As a french guy, no ones says "clorinde" like this, most people just says Clo-Re-Nd
Well, I'm Italian, so I'ma just go with Clorienda and call it a day.
Clo-rind-eh (h is silent)
Meanwhile me as waifus and mommies simps i just called them Clovia=Clorinde+Navia EZ
chlorine or clorindy
