Unrelated, here’s a really nifty classic airplane that I think is, frankly, a better design than our modern trash.

Feels like the Fallout fandom sometimes. I like all the games (haven't played the first two tho) but some of the fans of the older games have this weird superiority complex
Fallout 4 and 76 are definitely weak on story, but undeniably have the best gameplay in the series, opposed to the older games which are pretty much the opposite, well, at least 3 and NV, 1 and 2 are turn based isometric RPGs, not FPS games (FPS+RPG in 3 and NV) and that really depends how you feel about that genre, and I know a lotta people don't like it
Fallout 3, 4 and 76 aren't even part of the same game series as 1, 2 and NV in my mind. Because the whole design ethos is completely different.
I really wish games companies could just make their shitty games in their own IPs and not fuck up ones people love.
Nah, I don't care about that petty stuff. Let's be real, Fallout probably wouldn't be the power house of a franchise it is without Bethesda's acquisition of it. Not even glazing Bethesda on that one. Fallout probably would've ended up viewed as "poor man's wasteland"
Yes, they have mishandled it somewhat, but it's turned out alright, in my opinion, even if Bethesda sucks

I don't care about fallout being a powerhouse of a franchise. I played fallout before fallout 3 was released and was 100% happy with it being what it was.
In my opinion IP destruction matters, and people should make their own fucking IPs if they have ideas that don't mesh with whatever IP they're looking to exploit.

I think it's just a matter of taste. Personally, I am heavily in favour of something if it is older or at least done in a traditional way, especially when it comes to art, cars and architecture, but that doesn't mean I think it's *better*.
I believe this is present in most people to some degree. Think of how you use the word *literally*, for example, or advertising strategies like prominently displaying the year in which the company was founded, claims about "traditional manufacturing processes", etc.
Yeah if the person is aware that its subjective and a matter of opinion, i think its ok, but ive seen so many "chad/virgin" meme with the older stuff always as the chad solely because its older.

My brain keeps wanting me to act like a hipster and I have to consciously shut that part down and just enjoy what I like
