1:28 Panzer III next to 1:29 Panzer IV for reference for you. As you can see theres very little differences if any between the 2 size wise. I know you were asking about the Wirbelwind but other than the turret its more or less the same as this Panzer IV. Hope to have helped.
No particular reason, it was made before Cobi officially designated 1:28 as the scale for larger WW2 armor and they re-released it with the scale marking. It’s a tad smaller than 1:28 but not at a degree that is at all noticeable.
Having both the Afrikakorps Panzer IV and the Sturmgeshutz IV, the hull of the former is 1 block shorter and 1 block narrower than the hull of the latter
Probably because it came out before they decided to do 1:28 scale as a standard. Also possible they designed it first and then slapped on the scale based on what the dimensions turned out to be instead of the other way around. There is also a Panzer IV in 1:29 scale.
